Despite today’s announcement that Final Fantasy XIII will be on Xbox 360, Final Fantasy Versus XIII still remains exclusive to the PlayStation 3. At least for now.

Square-Enix Denies Delay

Rumors were floating around that Final Fantasy Versus XIII development had been put on hold. In a statement via Eurogamer, Square-Enix denied these rumors, saying “Reports that development for Final Fantasy Versus XIII is on hold are false.”

“The truth of the situation is that when free, some staff from the Versus team have been helping with the XIII team on development of Final Fantasy XIII. Development for both titles is continuing as originally scheduled.”

What exactly the term “as originally scheduled” means is anyone’s guess.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII at PS Premiere?

According to a rumor at GAF, Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be at PS Premiere. There will be 3-4 minutes of footage of a 3 man party fighting, showing off the battle scenes. Also, the antagonist will be revealed.

Square Enix may not be willing to shed light on when the game will be released, but Drammatica, The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura, will give us a range of video game music, including songs from Final Fantasy Versus XIII. The disc is listed on HMV as having a release in Japan of March 26, 2008 at a price of 3000 yen.
