Eric’s words were as follows:

It comes with my saddeset displeasure to say that I am stepping down as the sole founding member of my band FindingCore. In essence, closing the doors to the shop, that was (musically) the biggest & best thing that ever happened to me. My decision has nothing to do with my bandmates let me make that clear 1st and foremost. I love these guys. However, I promised myself when this was no longer fun, I would get out and that’s what I am doing.

The music business is one of the most gruling and cut-throat ever. It swallows up the weak and want-to-be’s everyday.
You can’t say we didn’t make a valiant effort.

My dream chasing isn’t over, it might just take on a new form. Maybe inside music, maybe outside. What I am very grateful for are the memories, the 12 years that this band had together and the achievments we have accomplished.

What I am the MOST grateful for, and eternally thankful for, is the incredible belief, encouragement, friendship and support many of you gave me (and the band) on a daily basis. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that.

Now I’m going to live a little differently and enjoy life each day as if it were my last.

Happy Birthday to my little lady Kaila! Wherever you are, I miss you so much. Even though I can’t be with you on your birthday, I hope you have the greatest one ever. The day has been full of surprises left and right. Sandra picked me up a cool reverb pedal as a much needed/craved addition to my guitar rig, but even cooler is what came in cake form. (see photo below)

Also a huge thank you to my Facebook friends that continue to send their birthday well wishes! You continue to make my day great. Thanks to the max to all the family & friends that came out to see me today! You are the greatest!

A big “Daddy loves you” goes out to Kaila and Madison as well!

As for the cake.. well I am in awe, and once again reminded that I am the luckiest man alive.

Well, the wait is over.

Let me tell you, it seemed like the longest wait ever, but for obvious reasons. I have been a lifelong fan of Edward, and it safe to say I am obsessed with him.

We have been very fortunate over the years as a band to land endorsements from an incredible list of manufacturer’s, but to land a deal with my idol, is simply off the map.

Through my endorsement with EVH Gear, I recently received a vintage white, EVH Wolfgang Special, and an Ivory EVH 5150iii Amplifier Head. I will be receiving the matching 5150iii 4×12 cabinet within the next couple weeks.

With only having these cool new toys for a couple days, I had Sandra Lee shoot a quick video of me, giving a demo of the cool tones and features of the new rig.

It’s not easy to stay together as a band for a decade, let me tell you.

Those of you that know us, also know that we have gone through multiple members in the band since our inception in 2000. There’s been a wealth of trials and tribulations, high points, low points and everything in between. Controversy, gossip, celebrations and so much more, but at the end of the day, we look back and say ‘why do we do this?” Because we love what we do, and believe we have something credible to offer to our fans and the independent music scene. And even at the very least, it’s the biggest rush going, to create and perform your own music for anyone that lends their ears your way.

We have our fans, we have our haters, and we have those sitting on the fence not knowing what to think about us. But we love you all just the same. If we gave up the first time we heard “you guys are going nowhere” or whatever negativity was spawned from the annals of the disgruntled “want to be’s”, then it would have been a short run for us, and certainly a decade of togetherness, would have never seen the light of day.

We’ve gone from being a cover band, to an original band with covers, a cover band with a few originals, and to being a full out original rock act. And today, we are focusing on new material with a new sound, and most importantly, a new passion.

We also celebrate our newest Core members, Kenny Deuxberry and Paul Demars, joining us on lead vocals & drums. With the two onboard, our sound has taken a much welcomed turn towards heavier, hit you in the gut, Rock.

In our 10 years together we’ve seen alot, technology now has offered us to reach our fans via social networking mediums like never before possible (Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, YouTube and so much more). The old days of postering the poles are no longer, trying to get our message out to the masses.

Recognition from industry manufacturing giants in the form of endorsements continue to this day to come in. Leaders such as PRS Guitars, Spector Basses, Ampeg Amps, FloydRose Upgrades and many more in between, to the most recent, Fender Musical Instruments, Jackson Guitars USA and EVH Gear (Edward Van Halen’s company), have led us to become the highest endorsed, yet unsigned act in all of Canada, to date.

An incredibly humbling feat, and it was not easy. It certainly is something I am not only thankful for each and every day of my life, but is also something that I am very proud of.

I love my brothers in FindingCore, and I care for our fans just as much. I thank you for sticking behind us all these years, and even if you had doubts in us, you saw something that made you stay. For that, we are eternally grateful.

I thank our Manager Sandra Lee (and bride to be) for the dedication and countless hours of promotions, bookings, and sheer diligence she put forth to see this band become something. And, I thank her for believing in me and never letting me veer off my path to my dream.

So, for the remaining hours of this anniversary today, I feel truly proud and happy today to be in a band that has made it 10 years together with no end on the foreseeable horizon.

Just wanted to share this moment with you all.

Well, today, they added me to their website along with other talented artists, taking home amongst some of the best in the business.

I have received some kind words from my friends regarding this prestigious honour, to which I thank each and every one of you.

Really there are not too many words that I can think of to describe this feeling. I have had the endorsement for the better part of a few months, but when you see it in Black and White (well, Red, Black &  White….!) it really hits home. This is a childhood and lifetime dream come true.

Those that know me, know how important Edward has been in my life, and to be not only recognized by his company, but to join the team of great EVH Endorsed artists, it’s just hard for me to accept the reality of the situation.

So, I thank each and everyone of you that helped make this happen, you know who you are, and without you, I wouldn’t be posting about this right now.

I’m so looking forward to my shipment of EVH Gear this week. Just in time to enter the studio to record FindingCore’s next record.

Just the other day I received the EVH (Edward Van Halen) signature wah pedal from MXR/Jim Dunlop (thanks guys!!!)
Shipping was lightning fast and let me tell you I was like a kid in a candy store when I saw the FedEx guy pull up in front of the house.

I haven’t had the chance to gig with it yet, but that will be soon enough.

What I am really looking forward too, is my 5150iii Full Stack guitar rig, in totally cool white, as opposed to black like pretty much every other amp out there. My order has been placed with EVH Gear, and I’m just waiting on it’s shipment. Trust me, when this baby comes in, I’m gonna need some time alone!
