Paul is extremely happy as well as honoured to be a part of the family at Pearl. He’s still absorbing what it feels like to be alongside a talented and who’s who list of drummers!

We’re very happy for and proud of Paul! We feel this is yet another sign that 2012 will be our year!

FindingCore has always been an active participant in charitable fundraisers, and we’ll be doing our part next weekend, in both Sarnia and Chatham.

Tune in this Sunday at 6PM to The Rock Indie Show (95.1/100.7 or Stream Online) with host Theresa Leslie in which she’ll be doing a phone interview with Eric. Along with playing one of the cuts from the band’s new album “Fifty Two Ten”, they’ll be talking about the highly talked about “Rockin for Lane- A C-K Benefit Show“, a fundraiser for little Lane Seller, whom was born with a heart defect requiring surgery. The Seller family has been in and out of hospitals in London and Toronto and the community is rallying together to raise funds for them.

Theresa will also be spinning tracks from all of the other bands that are performing at the Rockin For Lane event as well. She’ll also touch base on another event we are involved in. “Amazing Live Presents: When Systems Collide, Avidas & FindingCore” rocking to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Research. FindingCore

FindingCore is making their return to the movie screens! In fact, the band will most likely be making a “performance” cameo in the film. This spring, work will begin on a “kick-ass martial arts production, with a twist!”  by Skylight Films, and we’ll be in it! Skylight Films producers heard selections from our new release “Fifty Two Ten” and immediately wanted the band to be a part of this.

We’re extremely excited to be included in yet another movie. This past fall, FindingCore songs “Pass You By” and “Loaded Gun” were featured in the action movie “A Case of Deceit“, in which the band attended the premiere in Toronto with cast members and crew.

We’ll bring you more details as we get closer to start of production. In the meantime, we thank you for your continued support and belief in us.

Keep it loud!

The creativity in the band is at a peak right now, and the amount of new ideas that pop up from nowhere at each rehearsal is astounding to us. It also doesn’t hurt that we are starting to rehearse much for frequently then ever before, which allows that creative conduit to continue its flow.

We’ve been starting to record ideas off the floor at each rehearsal (poor quality mind you) but none the less, capturing ideas as they happen. Any musician will tell you, it’s very easy to forget ideas. We don’t want to take the chance of losing something that might be a keeper. Speaking of keepers, we are in the midst of about 6 new tracks. A couple of which, 1 for sure, we will be introducing at our next group of shows. The band cannot wait to play this for you. The only hint we can give you right now is that it has a “slinky, sassy, groove” feel to it. Just a fun-fun song to play, and hopefully for you to listen to.

We have some other really big news we are itching to tell you about, and as soon as we get clearance from the powers that be, you can guarantee we’ll be spilling the beans here!

We’re back at it tonight to continue work on the new songs, and possibly meet up with photographer Rick Rieger from Rieger Photography to discuss our upcoming photoshoot. We’ll be using images from this photoshoot in the  vehicle wrap design of our Dodge Nitro. A new FindingCore pimped ride coming soon!

So, I’m looking for a Blu-ray player (a Christmas gift for myself and my sweetie). Thought I’d call on some of you audio/video enthusiasts for your opinion.

I don’t want to spend a fortune, but don’t want a $60 player either.

I do require at least the following features:

• DLNA Certified
• Ethernet port and Wi-Fi (will use Wi-fi for now)
• USB Media Port
• DVD Upconversion
• As many Video codecs as possible
• Short boot time
• Prefer Coax Audio out but not mandatory

Finding Core definitely worth recognizing

Putting a band together is no easy feat, believe me! Assembling a group of like minded musicians, all with a common goal and equal ambition is difficult enough alone…but, sustaining a local (or even international) group for in excess of 10 years is a milestone definitely worth recognizing.

Chatham’s Finding Core recently celebrated their 11th year as a band with the release of their sophomore effort “Fifty-Two-Ten” (an album which I’ll later discuss in greater detail). Originally formed in late 2000, Finding Core initially featured Todd Lenover on vocals, Gary Gehl on drums, Jeff Pickle on bass (shortly thereafter to be replaced by current bassist J.Z Taine) and sole remaining original member Eric Broadbent on guitar. Over the next decade, the band experienced a number of lineup changes with an almost “Spinal Tap’esque” revolving door of drummers. However, any previous lineup turmoil has long since subsided with the addition of Kenny Deuxberry on vocals and Paul Demars (via current Chatham act Dead End Charlie) on drums.
