Researchers say the healthier foods you consume, the better your skin will look. They believe serious skin issues can result from a poor diet lacking in key nutrients.

Most experts say eating a balanced diet is the best way to get your share of good food for healthy skin.

Below are some great foods that are good for your skin.

Low fat dairy products

Low fat dairy products, including yogurt, are full of vitamin A, which does wonders for skin.

Berries

Berries such as strawberries, blueberries and blackberries have helpful antioxidants.

Avocados

This food is rich in B-complex vitamins and essential oils and works like an anti-inflammatory agent. It also soothes skin that is red, irritated or blotchy.

Green tea

This tea contains polyphenols which have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant characteristics.

Water

We all know that 8 glasses of water a day will keep our bodies, and our skin, properly hydrated and running smoothly.

Almonds

Almonds are packed with Vitamin E, which helps to moisturize your skin from within and prevent premature aging.

Sweet Potatoes

Known for their ability to fight wrinkles, sweet potatoes are full of vitamin C which increases collagen production.

Salmon

This fish contains essential fatty acids such as Omega 3 and Omega 6.

Tuna

This fish is usually known for its high content of good-for-you Omega 3 fats as well as selenium which helps to preserve elastin. Elastin keeps skin from sagging, and it keeps skin smooth.

Carrots

This veggie contains an abundance of vitamin A, which helps keep skin problems and blemishes at bay.

Kim Kardashian is reality TV celebrity, a star of the hit show “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” She was  involved with “Dancing with the Stars” and also promoted a workout DVD “Fit In your Jean On Friday.”  She is 5ft 2inch’s tall and 115 pounds, which some may deem “curvy.”

So, what is involved in her workout plan?

Kim’s Diet Plan:

Breakfast: Oatmeal with bananas. Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken. Pinkberry yogurt with fruit and granola. Snack: Carrots and low-cal ranch dressing. Dinner: Fish, vegetables and green tea before bed.

Kim’s workout plan:

Kim works out 3-5 times a week, starting off with a run on the treadmill for about 30 minutes then lifting weights for another 30 minutes. She mainly focus on lower body workout to keep her thighs and butt toned. She alternates switch between arms and legs and then continues with the abs and stomach exercise.  She then stretches.  According to Kim, her favorite exercises are squats and lunges – ideal for the lower part of the body.

Another tip from Kim:
“An exercise that I’ve been doing every day that’s really been helping and no gym equipment is needed is… Get a chair or even go near your couch and make sure nothing is in front of it so you can stand right in front of it and act as if you are going to sit down but don’t actually sit! Just lightly touch your booty on it and come back up. Do that seven times! Then do the same thing but this time only half way, come back up and do that seven times. Then do it one more time but when you go to sit down and come back up, only come up about an inch up off the chair! So each time you go lower and lower! Once you finished your lucky 21, take a break and try it again. I try to do that cycle four times.

As summer approaches, more and more people are in a hurry to lose weight and get fit.  But, the quickest route isn’t always the best route.  Below are the top 5 worst diet trends we’ve seen out there.

Master Cleanse Diet

In this diet, the person tries to “cleanse” by drinking a concoction of squeezed lemons, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup multiple times a day for roughly 10 days.  Then they take a laxatime tea at night and a quart of salt water right when they wake up.  This torturous line up will allegedly clean out the GI tract and bowels.

hCG Diet

The hCG diet is a low-calorie diet plan (roughly 500 to 800 calories per day) supplemented with injections of the pregnancy hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Any diet that drops below 1,000 calories is unsafe to begin with.

The Grapefruit Diet

Also known as the Hollywood Diet or the 18-Day Diet, the grapefruit diet plan has been around since the 1920s. In this diet, you will have lunch and dinner that includes grapefruit, lean meat, and vegetables.  A diet like this, which is a mere 800 calories per day, is not healthy or sustainable.

The Cookie Diet

This diet was developed by Doctor Sanford Siegel, MD.  Siegel’s homemade cookies contain natural hunger-suppressing proteins such as oats, rice, whole wheat flour, and bran, but they lack the optimal amount of daily nutrients. During this diet, you would only be allowed only one meal per day: dinner, which consists of six ounces of chicken, turkey, or seafood with one cup of veggies.

“In eighth grade, I weighed 175 pounds and my nose was the size of a softball. Once, I was sitting at lunch and got surrounded by a bunch of kids who let me have it about how ugly I was — my unibrow, the size of my nose, the fat rolling over my jeans. It was pure hell. My mom had to pull me out and put me in another school.”

“I had my nose done. I felt much better about myself. Plastic surgery is a very personal decision.”

Though she didn’t give details about the time of the procedure, Michaels admitted that cosmetic surgery alone didn’t help her find the confidence she has now.  She also revealed that she’s been in therapy since she was 5 years old.

“I was a very anxious kid. I had night terrors. I couldn’t breathe,” she says. “I had a very strained relationship with my father, especially when my parents got divorced. I still try to go to therapy at least twice a week. It has given me the confidence to pursue the things I love, and it’s important that I don’t end up playing out my own pain and insecurities with the people I’m trying to help.”

Heaton is widely known as Debra Barone from the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond.  She isn’t shy about her choice to have a tummy tuck and breast lift.

She had several children and breast fed them, causing her body to change dramatically.

In an interview with People magazine, Heaton said, “Vanity. I mean it, vanity. I had four babies and four C-sections, and my stomach looked like the map of the world. My breasts were hanging down to here from breast-feeding those babies and my nipples were like platters. I wanted to fit into the gowns that I finally got to wear. I had a breast reduction and a tummy-tuck and I feel fine about that and I feel fine about saying I did it. There is an awful lot of illusion in Hollywood, but it’s better to be honest if you can.”

Gosselin had a tummy tuck soon after the hit reality TV show Jon & Kat Plus 8 began.  During the first episodes, Kate mentioned her post surgery stomach which  got the attention of Lauren Glassman, the wife of plastic surgeon Dr. Lawrence Glassman.  He offered Kate a free tummy tuck which she happily accepted.

Kate recently revealed a magazine worthy bikini body in an interview with People magazine.

But when viewing the before & after pictures, like the one shown above, it is hard to argue that she hasn’t had butt implants.

Minaj was born on December 8, 1984. The rapper and R&B singer-songwriter was signed to Young Money Entertainment in August of 2009 with distribution from Universal Motown after being discovered by Lil Wayne.

Amerie Mi Marie Rogers was born on January 12, 1981 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.  She is a two time Grammy-nominated American singer, songwriter, producer and actress. She is probably best known for her album “All I Have” although she has released four albums to date.

A nose job is surgery to repair or reshape the nose and is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. In this procedure the nose is reshaped by resculpting the bone and cartilage in the nose. The surgery may be performed in a surgeon’s office-based facility, a hospital, or an outpatient surgery center and usually takes an hour or two, but may take longer. The two primary techniques performed today are called closed rhinoplasty and open rhinoplasty. In the rhinpoplasty an incision is made in the skin between the two nostrils, while a Closed rhinoplasty does not require an external incision. Many surgeons prefer not to perform a cosmetic nose job until the growth of the nasal bone is completed.

Courteney Cox is rumored to have had a breast augmentation, although the rumors have never been confirmed.

It is possible that Cox’s breasts got larger due to her pregnancy when she gave birth to her daughter Coco, or during periods of weight gain.

Yet many scoff at these possibilities as unrealistic based on the significant difference in the size of her breasts when comparing photos from the 1990’s to photos from the latest 2000’s.

And Cox has made her views on plastic surgery public.

When asked in a magazine article about her views on cosmetic surgery Cox said she felt it was acceptable and sometimes necessary.

“Aging gracefully is one thing, but trying to slow it down is another. Sometimes I use Botox. Compared to most, I use it very sparingly. One time I did too much, though. I feel weird if I can’t move my face, and that one time I overdid it, I felt trapped in my own skin. I don’t have a problem with any of that stuff; if it makes you feel better about yourself and it’s done properly, then fine.”

She has also been rumored to have undergone a lip augmentation procedure and facial injections.

One patient told The Sun: “She was wandering around in a daze, humming under her breath. She had tubes hanging out of her bust so I asked what she’d had done.

“She started rambling and said, ‘I’ve had a boob job. I ‘ad ‘em done for Strictly. I wanted to look my best and I’m sick of stuffing hankies down my bra’.
