So I have been a very bad blogger. Stuff that I wanted documented are mainly posted on my official blog, belolats.com. but it is not acceptable that I failed to update my other blogs. I have been contesting about it for almost a year and now I have reached with a decision to make this blog where I post everything pop that caught my attention. Everything. From music, TV shows, movies, books, blogs, gadgets, maybe modern outdoor seating, etc.

And for my first entry, here's a poster of a movie I have been dying to see for days -- Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Maybe I should write a review for the books soon, but I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes for as long as I can remember. I've read almost all the books, I have seen those episodes of the old TV series...and I have seen the first movie before this. The first one didn't really satisfy me as a fan, but I have heard a couple of great reviews about the new film.

Hoping to watch this tomorrow, if not, within the week.

She's been on a budget and coupon codes will be of great help to hear.

Speaking of New Year shopping, I have yet to plan our New Years day meal. I am not really a cook, so I might just order in. My mother is not a cook either and I would like to give my father a well-deserved break. My family never really had a festive celebration of new year. We only have a simple meal and end our day with a prayer.

2012. Another year for us.

Happy Holidays

The Muppets singing any Christmas song will never fail to bring a holiday cheer to anyone. Too bad, YouTube only has limited videos from the show. There were some recordings I heard of Kermit and Ms. Piggy recorded Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. Other casts also recorded Jingle Bells.

I found this video of John Denver singing 12 Days Of Christmas. The crooner is one of my father's favorite singers. And seeing him all jolly and smiley with the whole happy bunch of the The Muppets really is something. So start the holiday cheer and play the video. And maybe sing along too :)

I have been celebrating Christmas with my family all my life and I always look forward to what my mother have come up with for Christmas. She likes fixing the house and making it very 'Christmas-y' by putting up decorations. From the tree, to the wreaths, to the scented candles; my mother would carefully plan how to put everything together as an equestrian would carefully choose equestrian helmets.

This year, everything changes. The turn of events last year had made my mother not to do the usual things she loves to do. Like reading, for example. And making sure the house is squeaky clean all the time. I am the one who's tasked to handle the preparations this year.

I started with going to the mall and buying things for the table set-up. I asked mom on how she wanted everything to be arranged. And the things she wanted to be on the table. The mall was packed with last-minute shoppers but I was able to get everything she wanted. Plus some more that I thought that would make her smile like a Jasmine-scented air freshener, new floor mats, and new place mats for the table.

The next goal is to clean the entire house and change the curtains. Tons of things to do. I am hoping I'll be able to pull it off, like how my mother wanted it.

Help for Sendong Victims

Before continuing my research on yo yos, let me post this very important information on how we can help the victims of typhoon Sendong. I tweet most of the time of any topics that comes to mind; from an undermount sink to the latest movies. Before, I used to post on Twitter using my computer, but that changed when I upgraded my phone and switched to a BlackBerry. Switching to a new phone and subscribing to the unlimited social media access plan with my provider gave me the freedom to post on Twitter anytime I want. I could even include pictures with my tweets! :)

I read about Twitter's user interface redesign last week. Reports said that the redesign was intended to cater organizations and companies on the site. The new Twitter interface was rolled out a couple of days ago.

The new Twitter interface.

I like it. It is cleaner than the old interface. It has a Facebook feel but not really. I haven't really explored what one can do to the latest interface, customization wise. I saw a couple of sample profile revamps and how can organizations can utilize the new interface. I'll try to tinker with it more and have another blog post about it.

The documentary screening was done at Capones A-Venue. The fans started arriving as early as 8pm even though the invite says the screening will be at 10pm

Had a little confusion with the band's manager about the drinks and entrance stubs.

The Charmes opened the night.

We had to wait for the band to arrive before we could play the film. It is pointless to screen a film without the band not being there.

Armi was the first one to arrive. That was our signal to play the film.

The host read a letter from the film's director before the start of the show.

Everyone gave a toast for the director.

Film started. Film ended.

The band played an awesome set to close the night.

Documentary Screening

I was looking for the perfect gift for my best friend's birthday this weekend and I found these gorgeous pieces. My best friends are into shiny, sparkly things and I definitely think she will love these. The amazing thing about these great finds is that I can pay for them via PayPal. Cool beans :)

Report

Found a credit report on my Inbox today. Look at these finds:

The black one looks really chic. As a matter of fact, I have never seen a black bath tub in my life! Normal bath tub colors are white and sometimes in pastels. But a black one? The color gives it a vintage feel. And it's style too! Having a bathroom with a tub like this would want me to stay in and just lie down, soaked in fluffy foam and relax the day away.

TV

Our TV is broken. It had been that way for the past couple of weeks. I am not really a TV person but for the benefit of my mother who considers the tube as her form of entertainment, the TV has to work all the time. Our TV set is not something that needs lcd projector bulbs or other complicated components. It's only a regular set and is not even subscribed to cable.

My mother divides her time between listening to the radio and 'listening' to the TV. It's her form of escape. She even spends most of her time doing those things than the times we are able to talk and update each other about our lives.

Strenght

She holds her breath. This is her moment. Gone are the days where everything is threath. Denying the reality that she has the charm and that aura that men can resist has been too long. This morning, she decided that she doesn't have to wear slutty costumes to get the attention of the opposite sex.

It's all in the attitude.

You will often see her wearing a jacket but she carries herself better than other women who wears less clothes. She might be the one sitting right next to you on a bus that you cannot take your eyes of. Or that lady that flowingly walks along the crowded street like she owns it.

She's ready for the world.
She is turning 6 in three weeks and her parents is planning to hold a big shebang. Such a party hosts, my brother and his wife. I cannot describe how big of a celebration it would be but I cannot imagine when Maya turns 13. Yes, the first -teen age and not the usual 18. The family has this tradition to celebrate being a teenager. They say it is a pivotal stage to one's life.

Going back to my niece's invites. She's having a circus-themed party, complete with clowns and magicians and all the other colorful things one can see in circus. Maya will be wearing a magician's costume because that's her favorite part of the circus.
These job postings are visibly making their way to pet owner's radar. A lot of pet owners is starting to consider that taking their pets to a vet when they're ill are starting to gain popularity. Practices then include not taking pets to the vet and just taking the matters with their own hands by giving them their tried and tested home cure.
Check out these tattoo clothing at Ed Hardy's online store! The brand seem to be gaining a lot of buzz these past few months. A lot of my friends are sporting Ed Hardy shirts and they seemed like they still can't get enough. They say the shirts are so comfortable and really designed for everyday use.

I have been listening to Trashcan Sinatra's new album 'In The Music' for quite sometime now. Actually for almost two weeks now. A friend of mind told me about them and really convince me to listen. The first track from their album, People, already got me listening. The melody of the song is catchy and unpretentious. The lyrics, not very poetic but has a lot of sense to it.

Trashcan Sinatra is Frank Reader (vocals), John Douglas (guitar), Paul Livingston (lead guitar), Stephen Douglas (drums), Stevie Mulhearn (keyboards), Frank DiVanna (bass-tour), Grant Wilson (bass-CD).
Three of which are from friends and the rest she purchased through the whole time she was a teacher. I am a bit of frustration to her since I never gotten to like wearing watches. She said she particularly bought these watches for me. So I could use them when I grow up. But there was one particular incident when I was nine that I promised myself I will not wear a watch ever again. It was the first gift my father gave to my mother. A gold watch. My mother let me use it one day when I went to the airport with my cousins to pick my aunt who came from the U.S. And it got stolen. :(

Water what?

Never heard of water softeners. But it's interesting. I know there is something called water purifiers. And water filters. Water boilers, I think there is such a thing. Water softeners. Maybe this is a process to lessen the ‘roughness’ of the water? Sources, specially of tap water, can be rough and not really thirst-quenching. So this new innovation must be the in thing these days. I wonder if they come in with flavors too. Heee.

Uncertain

Two weeks ago, I went to this event organized by the Incubus Street Team. It was a tribute party for the band Incubus. The party was a warm-up of sorts as they featured bands from the independent music scene and have them play their favorite Incubus songs. The event was held at B-Side on a late Thursday up to early Friday. I specifically went there to watch my friends from Laguna as they were invited to be one of the featured bands that night. The event started late but I stayed because I am too is a fan of Incubus. They were having raffles and impromptu contest for the people at B-Side. Prizes ranged from goodies from sponsors to a pair of tickets for the Araneta concert. I wasn't really expecting anything, but as the night progressed, I got my chance and joined in one of their contest in between sets. I was asked to name five sponsors of the event that night. And I did. Lucky me, I thought. The night was all worth it because I will be able to watch the concert for free. Lei, who I think is in charge of the prizes informed me that the sponsors have gone home and said she will just text me with instructions on how to claim the tickets the following week.

It was Wednesday last week when I first sent a text to Lei to follow up about the tickets. She said they've contacted Solar Entertainment and just waiting for their feedback. Friday, I texted her again to ask about it and said they have already submitted my name to Solar Entertainment. I am actually starting to get a little stressed that time because it has been a week. But maybe people are just busy, I thought, just to comfort myself. I didn't buy tickets to the concert since I have no extra money for it. And those tickets are my only chance.

The concert is tonight. I still haven't got any text from the sponsor. I texted Lei last night and this time she didn't reply.

I am hoping I get a good news until 3pm today about those tickets.

My best friend has been asking me about the tickets, the more stressful it is.

I think I want to scream.

Alchohol Poisoning

I'm currently talking to a friend of mine who's in Japan right now. I have been sending him IMs for the past days, but he wasn't replying. He was only able to reply just now and he told me he had an alcohol poisoning! His life insurance covered it but it was a pretty scary thing to find out. I feel kinda guilty for getting upset because he wasn't replying then he just told me the reason now. :(
Scoring a ticket for the screening of Quark Henares' Rakenrol had been my weekend goal. The movie will close this year's Cinemalaya film festival at the CCP. I have never attended Cinemalaya film festival but I thought this film is worth checking out. Plus they'll be having an after party gig where awesome acts like Pupil, Taken By Cars, Techy Romantics, Itchyworms and Pedicab to name a few. I am still figuring out how the festival works: do I just by a ticket and choose which movie I want to see, or are they selling movie tickets individually.

Weight Loss

Where can one find a good weight loss testimonials? A lot of website had been releasing these kinds of write-up for people to have an idea what are the effects of these weight-loss pills to other people. Some of their reviews and testimonials are very comprehensive and inspiring that other people will be inspired and assured that these weight loss programs actually work

One testimony tells readers on how she tried the 'loose 6 lb a week with pills' program. How the system worked for her lifestyle and how other people can benefit from it too.
Yes, I just had to stop writing beading supplies to blog about this: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be premiering in Manila on July 14 while the rest of the world will be seeing it on July 15! That is awesome. Well, that has been the trend since the third movie. The time when piracy sort of boomed worldwide. Anyways, enough about piracy talk; this movie's going to be epic. It'll be both happy and sad too as the all of us will witness the end of this 10-year-long saga.
