JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville's Mayor Alvin Brown met with Jacksonville emergency leaders and updated the city's plan as sub-tropical storm Beryl makes its way in.

Jacksonville, Florida-We can clearly see the circulation center of Beryl on our LIVE DOPPLER. Present location is 80 miles east of Jax beach. Winds locally are now gusting up to near 55 mph and gusts of 56 are noted with the buoy 40 miles offshore. Beryl is becoming a strong Troical Storm and has sustained winds of 65 with gusts to near 75 mph. These winds could bring down some trees and cause power outages by sunset.
