Considering Samsung cleaned house in the first quarter of 2013, it comes as no surprise that Samsung has sold over 10,000,000 Galaxy S 4s since April 26th. Unsurprisingly, this puts the S 4 at the top of the list for the years highest selling phones, easily beating the S 3s record of 10,000,000 units in 50 days.

As if the world needs more reasons to buy the S 4, Samsung has announced four new colors for the device for release this summer. In addition to Blue Arctic and Red Aurora (pictured above), Samsung also has plans for a Purple Mirage and a Brown Autumn variant. The S 4 will also be available in 45 more markets by the end of the year, making the wildly popular handset available in 155 countries.

Samsung will be releasing developer editions of the Galaxy S 4 for AT&T and Verizon, according to the company’s site. It’s not clear exactly when the devices will come to their respective carriers, but they likely won’t be offered with a subsidy when they do hit the market. For those considering purchasing Sammy’s latest flagship handset, this offers an alternative to the several carrier variants, not to mention the stock Jelly Bean version announced at Google I/O.
Not to be outdone by some of its music-streaming counterparts, Rhapsody’s releasing a revamped version of its iOS app today. Taking on a newly minted look, the service promises this version will make it simpler for subscribers to access and manage their tunes within the application. Rhapsody added features such as a “personalized” organization that, as you’d expect, organizes your jams under the My Music section and splits them into two different categories: Library and Downloads.

Much like on the Android flavor of the app, Rhapsody also updated the Album and Artist pages to display more useful info and tools, including reviews and additional music controls. In theory, these should pair nicely with the all-new fullscreen player and a pop-up menu that allows you to easily add songs to the download queue. Rhapsody tells us the update will be hitting the iOS devices soon, so keep an eye on the App Store if you’d like to be one of the <s>First!</s> first to test out the goods.

Update: It’s live now, and we’ve added the link below to help you get started with the download.

Mediafire is without a doubt one of the most successful cloud storage solutions out there— thanks to its 30 million user base (and counting). To celebrate this momentous occasion, it has announced that it has completely revamped its its native media player, which is now being rolled out to Android devices everywhere. The aim is for the media player to allow users to stream video and music content through MediaFire’s mobile and web based applications— effectively giving us a sweet alternative to other streaming media players out there now. Coupled with 50GB of free lifetime storage, the new media player will give us the capabilities to stream our music and vids on our devices anytime, anywhere.

The update should be hitting devices any minute now. But while you wait for it in the meantime, you’ll find more details once you check out the press release after the break.

Click here to Continue reading: Mediafire app update now allows music and video streaming to devices

View the full Post: Mediafire app update now allows music and video streaming to devices

Not to be outdone by some of its music-streaming counterparts, Rhapsody’s releasing a revamped version of its iPhone app today.

Rhapsody tells us the update will be hitting the iPhone soon (sorry, iPad owners), so keep an eye on the App Store if you’d like to be one of the <s>First!</s> first to test out the goods.

Gallery: Rhapsody for iPhone redesigned

One of the best phones on the market right now, the HTC One, has done a pretty decent job in terms of sales, but possibly not as well as it could have done. Many questions remain about why the device isn’t coming to Verizon, and why there aren’t any microSD card slots in the US and UK models. HTC’s Senior Global Online Communications Manager, Jeff Gordon, finally gave us an answer to our questions.

MicroSD Drama— Many consumers were confused at why Asia’s version of the HTC One included microSD slots and the US and UK models did not. Apparently, this decision came down to a factor of space. The Chinese version of the HTC One is designed specifically for the smaller Chinese radio bands, and therefore there was additional space in the device to add microSD slots. This was seemingly the case with the Japanese version as well. This space was not available in the global version, and therefore, the lack of microSD card slots.

Why No Love for Big Red? — Gordon didn’t really give a full answer here as to why the HTC One isn’t offered on America’s most popular carrier. He said that “it’s always a great thing to have our phones on as many operators as possible, but we’ve got nothing to announce in terms of Verizon.”

While this doesn’t mean the device will never come to Verizon, it certainly does put a dark cloud over rumors that the HTC One would be coming to Big Red. There are some rumors saying that perhaps Verizon wanted its own special version of the One but HTC wasn’t willing to comply. Only time will tell.
