Christians are taught to pray and yet many are not receiving an answer to their prayers. Since God hears from us through our prayers, then why can it seem that He seldom answers us? Does He really hear us each time we pray? Sometimes it can feel like your prayers are just bouncing off the ceiling. Have you gotten so frustrated with your prayer life that you wonder why you should even pray? Have you reconciled yourself to a numbers game where you just hope that some percentage of your prayers will get through and you will receive an answer? Do you have some outstanding prayer request right now and you are waiting on an answer?

In this lesson on prayer, we will address these questions and look for biblical answers so that our prayer life will become effective. I don’t believe that God intends for His children to pray to Him and not be able to receive an answer from Him. Therefore, this lesson is intended to help us understand how we, as Christians, can realize answers to our prayers. As you probably know there are tens of thousands of books and articles written on the subject of prayer, but many of those writings are nothing more than man’s good ideas of what prayer is suppose to be. However, here in this lesson, we concentrate on specific questions that many Christians have expressed about their prayer life and then look to Scripture to find answers. Your study here will hopefully help you never again ask the question, “Why is God not answering my prayer?”

REST? OR STRESSED?

Most of us make living life to be hard, but it doesn't have to be that way. There are answers to living a fulfilled life while on this earth. The answer is found in what it means to rest. This lesson will discuss the biblical concept of rest and how we can understand and apply those principles to our own life.

JUDGING

In this biblically based lesson we investigate the situations where we are to make judgments. We will look at circumstances that forbid passing judgment and we will look at circumstances where we are to make judgments.

The goal of this teaching is to rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15) as it pertains to judging one another and then provide believers with corresponding practical applications.

BODY OF CHRIST - Foreshadowed in the O.T.

This lesson takes us back into the Old Testament to show us how the children of Israel were joined together as God's people. The observations that can be made by that old structure can help us to better understand Paul's meaning about the body of Christ, the church. Through this study we can clearly observe the specific assignments and duties of the Hebrew people and how that foreshadows the functions of the members of the New Testament church.

This lesson has been prepared so that we, the members of the church, can have a better understanding of how church members should work together. We were never created to live isolated from other parts of the body (fellow believers). On the contrary, God designed us to function with other parts to perform a function that ultimately benefits the body as a whole. Simply put, we need each other. Within a gathering of believers, God will link certain individuals together based on various criteria so that they can work together to accomplish what they never could do on their own. As each part (ie. limb) functions properly, the body system (local church) thrives.
