Why You Need A Light Meter?

Ok, we admit, the meter in your camera is pretty good. It gives you excellent exposures a lot of the time. But if you’re a professional photographer, a lot of the time isn’t enough of the time. For starters, you can’t measure strobe lights with your camera’s built in meter. You have to chimp your way to a proper exposure. Shoot, adjust. Shoot, adjust. Shoot, adjust, you get the point. A handheld meter gives you precision. It lets you see the exposure at the exact location the light is falling. A meter is precise, and precise leads to repeatability. You measure your lights, you take your shots, and you adjust to get the creative results you want. That’s professional control. That’s light mastery.

KLIMS 2010, Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow with Super Cars and Pretty Girls

The Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) is back again for its 7th presentation to delight car enthusiasts and motoring reviewers from the region! The world’s most illustrious and glitzy automobiles will once again converge at KLIMS to showcase the automotive achievements of today and the possibilities of tomorrow. Themed “We Care”, KLIMS’10 will make its prestigious appearance to showcase the auto industry’s accent on consumer, environment and community care.

Besides showcasing the latest automotive products and innovations that can be found in the market, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) hopes to bring forth the automotive industry’s initiatives in contributing to the well-being of mankind.

As a photographer, it was a heaven for you to snap your shutter away. Pretty Girls, Super bikes and cars everywhere. Not to mention the star of the exhibition from Transformers Bumble Bee! and Bat Mobile was there.

I am not showing the Batman’s car as it is a total disappointment. It is made from styrofoam and look damn fake.

Let me give you a tips of what to bring for this event :

A DSLR Camera body that can shoot at minimum ISO 1250 without noise.
A fast wide angle lens which able to shoot at F2.8 at least. I personally brought a Nikon 24-70mm F2.8. Another good option is Tamron 17-50 F2.8 which I saw a lot people use at the event.
A fast tele lens 70-200mm with fast focus and able to shoot at F2.8

Wide angle lens will give you this result :

While the telelens Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 VR1 give you a great portraiture result.

The event is starting from 3-12th of Dec 2010 at Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) KL. The show starts from 11am to 10pm for weekday and 10am to 10pm for weekend.
