The sea bass weighing in at 2 kg was caught on the first day of my return to the scene of the crime, after a long break spell.....Quite a nasty fellow this one, display a few aerial display of splashing and thrashing before finally being subdued.........

Infra Red Eyes

Caught a total weight of 5 kg for these two bass after the rain. A mangrove Jack which stole 2 of my prawns, leaving me frustrated before a change of tactic finally nabbed it with my third prawn. The bass on the right got away with a splashing twist of its tail after I reel it in about 2 m away from me. With despair almost gripping me, I cast away my float and a hook rig at the spot which the bass managed to escape. It came grabbing the bait a minute later and this time around I make sure that it did not get away. This must be a hungry fellow looking for food after a heavy downpour, to come for my bait again after the initial hooked up.

The beauty of these sea bass eyes, caught on my hand phone camera with it's eyes still glowing red with luster. It's ruby like glow enables it to hunt it's prey in the dark with infra red lights. which emits from within the eyes enabling the fish to hunt both during the day and night.

Rising Tide

The tide was rising fast and the water was up to my knees, and four live baits were stolen right under my nose. With my determination rising as fast as the tide, I was dead set to hook the critter that was swimming down there leisurely stealing my baits. I was obsessed to outwit it, with a change of strategy, I cast my fifth bait near to the spot the last time my bait vanished. Within a few seconds I felt a slight thump..there it goes again, my heart was whispering to myself, I was pondering to myself, could it be a crab again...! but there was a slight twist this time with my change strategy, it took my bait and lay motionlessly down the seabed, With my lines tight I was feeling for the tension of my line to reaffirm to myself that it was something that I really felt. A few seconds gone by and with my patience almost vanish and the lines still taut....the bass made a run for it..I set my hooks and slosh....plush ....whosh......it breaks surface and on it goes again. But not this time, my hooks are firmly set and bagging it was just another routine.......Caught on that faith full day was a 1 kg Coral Trout...and a 1.5 kg Sea bass.........

Black Catfish

One hell of a big Black Catfish, I thought it was a grouper initially.The fish just grab my bait and hit straight for it's hiding haven, but too bad my hooks are firmly etch to it's mouth. It made a tremendous effort to escape till the end but my power rods and lines prove too much to handle. Nice fish for "Asam Pedas" (A Malay Dish) with the know how of getting rid of it's strong fishy smell, this fish is a hit with the Malay community since the dawn of time and the dish is getting more popular with the ethnic groups....

The Black Catfish lay resting beside the legs of a 9 yrs old, the youngest members of S.O.S.. a.k.a.. "Pirate Of S.O.S" watching intensely the ongoing game from a PSP.........before its final destination the popular "Asam Pedas Dish"...Salute to all the Catfish which made popular the local Malay dish.......

Remarkable Fish

The Trevally was caught somewhere along Changi Coast. Initially I thought it was a grouper, but the fierce fight despite it's small appearance was a truly, remarkable strong fish, which gave me a memorable fight right till the end of it;s last breath. Weighing at approx. 1 kg and was caught on my last dead prawn. Its a delicious fish with a nice sweet texture, which was prepared deep fried with chilly. hmmm.... I would'nt mind savoring it more often...salute to one of the tasty fishes of the 7 seas............

Youngest and Eldest

Finally a picture worth waiting for..One of the less seen picture from one of the members of S.O.S taken at Changi Naval Base. Seen here is the youngest and the eldest members posing with a catch of approx. 1.2 kg of Coral Grouper caught with a floater rig. Congrats bro...hope to see more upload of you....

The catfish was awesome, ate my bait and dash straight to it's hiding place, I really need to pump my rods hard to get out of its cove. Weight approx. 1.5 kg, it,s rare nowadays to land a catfish this size.

Pirate Of S.O.S

This Mangrove Jack was a hit and run...It's like bamm..a truck hitting you and there's no stopping. The floater went down instantly, without any warning sign and the next thing I knew was, it was heading full force towards deeper water. Oh boy! it's a fighter alright, and it's fighting aggressively for its life. My small spinning reel was at max weight and I was trying very hard to keep calm with the excitement mounting by the seconds. Finally, after all the hassle, I manage to land the fish, which is close to 2.5 kg. Seen here posing with the aggressor is D "Pirate Of The S.O.S" himself.

Friends of S.O.S trying their hands on fishing. Lady luck was clearly on their side today,an impressive haul of the deadly puffer fish was caught by one of these beauties. The fish itself is a delicacy in Japan, a size this big would fetch exorbitant price.Not bad for a beginner's luck, keep fishing girls and and don't forget to keep those line tight. Anyway thanks to one of the Charlie"s Angels for being the first follower's of Seabass Of Singapore..(S.O.S)

Well, well.well, what can we say 3 types, 3 in a day. He's done it again, Formerly known as Kamal a.k.a.. Mr K.K (Kamal Kerapu).Upon the discussion of the board of directors of S.O.S, his tittle status has been upgraded to Mr. K.O.K (an additional of O.)....a.k.a..."King Of Kerapu". or in short Mr..K.O.K.. He;s the man, I mean 'D Man' who has proven that with a simple apollo rig consisting of a weight and a hook can do wonders with his catch. Keep up the terrific work Kamal, ...hhm hhmm..sorry....
