Someone asked me to make a list of the TRUE COLORS releases. So I did and thought it might be useful to publish it for everybody who's interested! So here's everything I know about TRUE COLORS releases. Everything from the demotape to the last show vinyl!

Feel free to fill in the voids and bring forward your knowledge about those records! Again, I'm not a Laplace demon, so I don't know everything! If you want to correct, you have to bring forward evidence! Also share this to anyone who might be interested and might know....Your cooperation is much appreciated!

Their debut LP, "Hellmouth" has been repressed by their trusted label Deathwish Inc. So for most Belgians and H8000 fanatics nothing new here... But much changed since the original 2004 release of "Hellmouth" on Join The Team Player Records. They grew and have explored their musical capabilities and styles, toured, etc.

Their label, Deathwish Inc. refers to this album as the blueprint for punkmetal. But that's incorrect as you might expect me saying; earlier bands like early LIAR, entire CONGRESS, later SHORTSIGHT, etc. actually laid that blueprint in my opinion. Not to speak of the embryonic WHEEL OF PROGRESS! But there's many ignorance and misunderstanding about these bands and the 90's scene they hail from, so I'm not blaming anybody for this misinformation!

Personally, I as a kid, always described Hardcore as a mixture of punk and metal to people who were unknowing about it! Me being the teenager kid was ofcourse also wrong because hardcore ain't per definition a mixture of metal and punk... but looking at the scene I was in and the bands I was exposed to I didn't know better. So I've always described it as some kind of punkmetal, way before RISE AND FALL and other punkmetal bands like OATHBREAKER existed. What RISE AND FALL does do, is introducing it to the world and a larger crowd of new kids!

I'm not trying to minimize the band's delivery I still think it's the best contemporary band! A band that has the same magic as the early Revelation bands, like Chain Of Strength, while not copycatting it, but playing something totally different!

Transparent GOLD vinyl: 330 copies

Solid ORANGE vinyl: 756 copies

As you can see, the CD artwork has been used! Which looks much more colorful than the OG vinyl pressing on ANGER MANAGEMENT Records:

OG Vinyl pressing: Standard BLACK

CLEAR Vinyl: OG Colorpressing

Also, as we are used of DWinc; heavy sleeves and quality vinyl! Overall much more quality than the the Original pressing! Which makes me like it more! But that clear vinyl still's the rarest version out there! And is highly desired by now....

As far as the comparison goes, also a few bonus tracks on the reissue!

Anyway, always judge for yourself by buying it straight from the band:
http://soulslayer.bigcartel.com/

Also looking out for the release of the H8000 BOOK; that should take away all the misunderstanding about the scene R&F members grew up in!

And this reality comes to the kids uncensored and blatantly. Only for the strong and smart kids I think. Because you really need to anticipate on what is thrown at you musically and not be wrongly influenced by it. And definitely not playing the copycat!

It's easy to judge or think that this music is bad, but it's all in the eyes of the beholder! That "in-the-face-reality" seems to be taken away from people and definitely in mainstream music, where everything needs to be merry, happy and pretty. It's not only in mankind's nature to be polar and to have two sides of reality, so why take this away from people's perception of the surrounding world and humanity!

The tidings do not lie! Perversion is a growing facet of mankind, mass-murder is omni-present! Aggression proliferates! Some people would argue saying that this is the media focusing more and more on it, so why can't this music do the same?

What I'm trying to say is that making reality come conscious and that showing the (dark side of) reality can only have positive effects on kids. That is if you are strong enough to handle it and are independent enough to make your own opinion about it! Testing peoples ethical strengths is what they do, they train it! Preparing kids for all hostility and negativity to come... And become independent ethical minds.

Anyway, KICKBACK seem to still be the leaders of that style! I've said it before Kickback; is on the forefront of the European scene and seems to have the biggest influence on it.

Recently GSR Music released their two latest releases on vinyl and those objects embody everything I've said in this post:

Shield also in varnish above the artwork

All the drawings on itself are very good and awesome. But also the use of varnish is really special and modern. The color-scheme is great as well. Also the vinyl looks good, really color-full contrast with the mono-chrome sleeve and insert! Nothing but praises for how this record looks!
Therefore I need Cd's and one I listen to a lot is the CEREMONY "Rohnert Park" album. So diverse and unpredictable that I never get tired of listening to it! Also the "Covers" Cd -that is from the same recording session- on full rotation early in the morning and in the evening on the way home.

But since I'm a passionate vinyl collector I needed the LP to. I saw several going on eBay but never got to score any of them. But recently I saw one coming out of Australia so being at the antipode side of the globe I needed to stand up also early in the morning to make my bid, which took a fair amount of passion and dedication to do so! I won the auction and to my pleasant surprise the guy who did the auction; Tim, also does a blog on vinyl collecting and also uses blogger.com. So a fellow collector in my eyes. His blog is called 'Vinyl Abuse' and can be found here.

The simplicity but effectiveness of the cover is enormous on this release from Bridge 9! A simple layout that can only work with a very good and awesome photo. So here's the regular house in Rohnert Park with a Skateboarder wearing a MINOR THREAT logo-sweater and ofcourse the American flag. In other words the picture captures a lot of what CEREMONY is and in an aesthetic way also.

The auction I won and was very enthusiast about and still are, was also with a WHITE copy of the teaser ep called "Sick" and needed this one also so I was quite certain about having to win this particular auction!

But that's not every reason why to let this come out of Australia! Up for auction was actually the pre-order package as it was exactly like from the B9 Store, on which I missed out. So, as you might remember, it has a book written by Ross Farrar plus a poster also. Again a cool thing look at and certainly to read. It also has a photo on it, that again captures a lot of the current American hardcore culture in one single shot:

Numerous reviews appeared on record collecting blogs, news blogs, etc. I can only celebrate this because the band is indisputably rooted in H8000 metalcore bands like Liar and that's something I hear.

Nothing but positivity on their debut full-length, surprisingly well-received worldwide! So the label pressed another 1022 copies which is more than I expected! It's also colored vinyl, that you can pick up here.

While we are at it, I have the two first pressings:

Brown Vinyl (out of 700 pressed)

White Vinyl (out of 300 pressed)

But less known is their debut ep that was now pressed by THIRTY DAYS OF NIGHT Records from the UK. And its MEGA-limited, so far as I know there are 2 colors and 1 black version, all out of approximately 70 copies only!

I have my eyes on getting colored represses of classical Hardcore releases, as you already know. But not only DISCHORD releases are on my radar, also BLACK FLAG releases. I share this interest with my a fellow blogger MCS. So reading his posts stimulated me or kick started the vibe again. So here's what I got:

Black Flag "Nervous Breakdown" BLUE vinyl

Black Flag "Six Pack" milky CLEAR vinyl

Black Flag "TV Party" Solid ORANGE

Definitely only a needle in the haystack of all the colored BLACK FLAG releases out there... There's something irrationally desirable about these, prices increase pretty fast and I really don't get why, they aren't so hard to find, but sell out quickly though. Are they historically significant? That's subject to argument for sure!

We are in a welfare society, hardcore and punk rock are products of western welfare societies! And BLACK FLAG somehow exaggerates/magnifies that sometimes useless consumerism in our western societies. And these records somehow embody that.... Both the satyriasis of TV watching of drinking beer in the lyrics and on the covers.

That's one of the things I learned from these records... Does that make them relevant? I think so...

Another thing that I got from these is the fundamental entertainment properties of music that is also a part of hardcore. But also the insanity and irrationality that make the genre strong somehow. But I really need to elaborate that another time.

I for one check the worldwide web everyday and so also on holidays. Being the pseudo-professional marketplace that is eBay, on holidays lesser people seem to participate in bidding on records. That's fine because I don't care about being it a holiday and bid away on holidays too. So items that end on holidays tend to go a lot cheaper than usual! A nice holiday-treat if you ask me!

It's been a long time since I posted a vintage GOOD LIFE classic:

GL-pressing on BLUE

You have to admit that this pressing looks much more pretty than the CONQUER THE WORLD pressings. Be your own judge:

QTW-pressing on BLUE

Although that's what I feel. A live-picture always does it on a Hardcore record. And that man with the camouflage bandanna in the background looks like a stereo-typical 90's vsxe militant!

This one was on my want-list for a very long time, but not completely erased because there's an even more rare CLEAR version out there too.

Which is pretty exciting for two reasons:

It is a version that is never seen before and not supposed to exist. So very rare. But also definitely legit because it comes from the one and only instance that has the right to make it, the label!

After applying logic on two unknown recordversions, it confirms my theory that Reaper Records sometimes makes records that aren't listed by using another sleeve instead of the listed sleeve. Or otherwise put makes "switch-versions" !
This theory came to being by getting this record in the mail. BUT this record came from a person who has nothing to do with the label, so I couldn't unanimously say it is legit... AND now that the same thing ("switching" of two versions) happens with another record that now IS coming from the label, we can be sure and confirm the theory!

BLUE vinyl and REGULAR SLEEVE

When you look at the pressing info page, you can see that it isn't listed:

Any logic-experts that can deny this theory???

I guess not, because it's like this formally:

A exists

B = A

=> B exists

In which:

A is the STANDARD A.W.O.L. cover with BLUE vinyl SWITCH

B is the POSI TERROR demo cover with GOLD vinyl SWITCH

Well definitely nobody would do that, except maybe for the BALL OF DESTRUCTION 7", they'd give money but not for the recent records.

But since I collect REAPER RECORDS it happened to me:

the 4 colors of the R.A.H.C. 7"

I'm doing quite well on my REAPER RECORDS collection by the way, I even found another of those UNITED BLOOD 2011 Stamped 7" releases that are all out of 20 copies only, that make two in my collection already:

It's called SOUL SLAYER. I hope you visit this store once because there is a bunch of good stuff in there, nothing but good stuff actually! So before showing some of that stuff in order to convince you I need to say that there aren't a lot of bands in the store, I guess it's out there to distribute the Ghent scene. But don't worry, they ship worldwide too and bands include; AmenRa, Rise And Fall, Oathbreaker, Blind To Faith,...

Ok, the first things that came to my mind in ordering were the represses of the highly desired and insanely expensive original MASS pressings. I'm not going to pay beyond 100€ to to score them on eBay and are very happy and satisfied with the represses! Although me and a fellow collector needed to criticize that they are rather ERSATZ pressings for the OG's. Let me explain why; most of those represses have more or less the same sleeves and also the same vinyl colors! And that's a setback for those who paid the eBay bill for the OG's.

But besides that little lack of creativity in making different pressings they still look and are great anyway. The first one is the MASS II repress:

CLEAR 180grams VINYL

And surprisingly printed almost invisible on the inside of the sleeve to:

The other one I wanted the color-version of but found the OG too expensive and that was the MASS II and III gatefold 2xLP:

GREEN vinyl black swirl and a Screened Cover

AMITICA FORTERIOR Stamp

Screened on the front cover and inside of the gatefold. Also the 'Amitica-stamp' on the inside make this complete and desirable!

In case you don't know, the original is on UK's SOUND DEVASTATION Records and exists on black and GREEN and the Green is screened on the D-side!

Sweetness as you can witness here and also nice that the Belgian scene has learned and evolved to make the packages very good looking and high quality.

A last thing I need to say is that I already made a post about the other MASS II versions and that any pressing info is welcome.

Ofcourse you need the link to that store:
http://soulslayer.bigcartel.com/

And check out this if you don't believe me on the prices the originals are going for:
http://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=amenra&x=32&y=4
So I quickly ordered every color out there. So became a collection without testpresses. After doing some research there seem to be two testpress-versions known already. The first version sold by THIRTY DAYS OF NIGHT has a patch as cover and is out of five copies. But mcs posted the other version with a hand drawn cover by Dwid himself. Of which we don't know how many there are.

So this is what we have so far:

[Edit] By Dicko (read the comments)

INTEGRITY / ROT IN HELL "Black Heksen Rise" - Testpress - Patch Cover - ?
INTEGRITY / ROT IN HELL "Black Heksen Rise" - Testpress - hand drawn Cover - ?
INTEGRITY / ROT IN HELL "Black Heksen Rise" - Black - 120
INTEGRITY / ROT IN HELL "Black Heksen Rise" - White - 100
INTEGRITY / ROT IN HELL "Black Heksen Rise" - Blue/Green - 680

Seems to be sold-out already at TDON Records, HOLY TERROR and Deathwish Inc. so I'm already glad with my achievement even though I haven't got a testpress!

I also got this from Dwid for free; has a very interesting interview with him at the end of the CD:

This is still available everywhere and is recommended.

Somebody gave me the chance to own the earliest hardcore punk album coming out of Belgium, the 1984 album of ZYKLOME A called "Made In Belgium". But since I'm not able to lay connections with the band members or label I'm obliged to interpret it on my own! I could write a book about this, but chose to pull the history-writing off with a short piece from my interpretation of this landmark record:

ZYKLOME A "Made In Belgium" LP on PUNK ETC. RECORDS

SIDE A

Lyrically this album's way ahead of it's time. The first song starts with a description of this country and it's still actual until now. This broader sight or contextual sight they had about Belgium or the way they introduce it to the world is brief but to the point. It's like they feel they have to introduce Belgium to an international public.
The second song starts with a fast riffing as if the music wants to empower the message that you have to change your life fast, isn't this what's youth all about? Fast and ominous looking changes?
Third song is a little merrier but the lyrics too; it's about the fact that he hates this world but loves his own life. That's an I-theist way of thinking and again the beginning of a more individualistic modern society in which hardcore punk is embedded!
The "Last War" song is a black and apocalyptic one but that's a mindset a lot of Belgian Hardcore bands have!
"Atomic Power" is simply a criticism on atomic energy production and I feel that way too about atomic energy! It's not ecologically responsible and safe to make energy that way.
The following song is about the paper filled and 'fueled' administration system of the government. If there's something Punk doesn't like it's the government and so Hardcore punk that came out of that movement also doesn't like it...
The dutch song "De Bommen Vallen" I have some questions about and would really like to interview or ask the band. It's like the lyric writer was a veteran of war. The conclusion of the carnage of war is that all his friends are dead and that he thinks he was better of death also.

SIDE B

Over the the b-side of the record. The first b-side song "Computerized World" is really looking into the future and says a lot about the way we live nowadays and it's only getting bigger and bigger the impact of computers on our lives. I'm surprised it was written in 1984 actually! Because if I remember it well computers were only in the beginning phase... So how could he already make such a great criticism about it?
How we are perceived by the masses is what the next songs about. But hardcore people also perceive the masses back with criticism, we might confuse them by our own way of life. And that's something the masses or people get angry about. We face the angry faces and are called fools, wanted to be nailed in the hands and not wanted to be understood. I really think this is a great perception and is capturing the whole social status of hardcore punk people again in short but powerful words.
"Abort All Wars" is about the two world wars Belgium has been in the middle of. The lyric writer tries to understand and and make a war-analysis from a social point of view. People are infected by war and in particular the crowds have to fight and not the bourgeoisie, although it's them who choose the enemy. Then he makes a weird twist saying that it'll never happen to him. His stance is peace. Thinking about this twice, I believe he says he won't go out and fight if there's a war and that he won't fall victim to the system and war machine of the government!
And then again a Dutch song. Lyrically still rooted in punk a lot. It's about the reactions he gets from people regarding his looks and lifestyle. He counter-reacts by saying it's their hate and that they are deaf to his words.... And that he lets those people nag about it and doesn't care a lot about those reactions.
"Different Kind Of People" is a trashy fast, pissed and energetic song musically. They judge the rich and realize they didn't make their riches by being good. They even get angry and generalize it to all people. Which may seem a bit sick but he just says; don't let them step over you and be ready for every kind of person who wants to take control over you.
I disagree on the following song, school's a good thing and luckily they did more than learning us to read and write. It might be correct that sometimes it's indoctrination but you can always let go of that indoctrinated stuff later when you realize it wrong. But in a way I understand him too when he says that school is more than knowledge. They also prepare you for society and make you a system puppet, that is true but on the pure knowledge-side, school's good I think...
"In The Night I Feel Free" start in a funny way and kinda reflects the feeling of the night to him in music! But then the punky guitars comes back in with a devastating pace, he still is a punk and anarchistic you see.
The final song is called "The End". It's a threat to close with.

So now comes my conclusion of this all. Getting this record only confirmed my theories about the (Belgian) Hardcore mentality. As I studied H8000 Hardcore (which is also very big beacon for Belgian Hardcore) I am already familiar with the ideas, characteristics and mentality but by listening to this, the foundations only solidified. As if the truth shined through already and this is proofing it. I could have also started with this record in constituting my opinion about hardcore in Belgium and realize the rest or later bands only followed and grafted upon this.

But now enough of that theoretic approach and time to get concrete in my vision of the Belgian scene (if there's something national like that). In Belgium it's not easy to live the Hardcore Punk life, never was and never will be. Because you have to realize the Belgian mainstream in the 80's is for example very religiously inspired and that's something Hardcore Punk denies. Another example of the conflict is that in Belgium mainstream people are still very closed and suspicious about different things or people. No need to tell the conclusion of how the conflict of the mainstream and punk arises! Yet another aspect is that -like Zyklome A says- Hardcore Punk is an American originated culture and that here society ain't so free as over there. So people aren't so free to be either. And here you really have to fight for your own cultural freedom. It's not so easy and that lays a great shadow upon Hardcore over here...
A totally different aspect is that it's hard to get on the map of Hardcore over here. A very small country that hasn't got the strength of numbers! It's like it's very easy to sink into oblivion on a global scale!
But what's a consequence of high standards we have in the school-system is intelligence and that's in my opinion something that also typifies the Belgian scene and Hardcore. Kids are truly great critics and very enriching to talk too for instance.

So all prejudice aside, being into hardcore in Belgium and everywhere else in Europe and the rest of the Eastern hemisphere might be harder than in the States! Then why call us not HARDcore and blame us?

If you want to check this masterpiece out, don't have to pay more than 250 old Belgian Francs like I did because the entire album is on the NOISE AND DISTORTION compilation CD that you can buy in several webstores. I bought this CD here and it went super fast and correctly:

http://www.bompstore.com/servlet/Detail?no=6238

The CD has also the 1983 split 7" with MORAL DEMOLITION and a bunch of live tracks, but also every compilation song out there I think! It is a complete discography I think....

Too close with I'd like to describe as to why I feel this is the first Hardcore record from Belgian soil. There thin line between in the punk / thrash and hardcore triangle here. But it's definitely originating Hardcore. Hardcore has always tried to make a message and ZYKLOME A does extensively with this album by means of the lyrics (look at the description of them above in this post). Musically it's punk and sometimes fast trashy music but the hardcore somehow shines through musically too. Very hard to describe this so you'll have to forgive me in not being able to... And buy this CD! Essential for anyone reading this!

Don't know many things about this exactly but is this the record many peeps were rumored to be ripped of with? Is this telling us L.O.T. is a HOLY TERROR band now? Is this a very rare record of the label, since it isn't in their store ? Etc.

Many questions rise by receiving this and that's how I like it! Can anyone fill me in...?
I think it's not given to many bands to end with making their best album ever. At least that's how I feel about this record and Liar's output. For sure INVICTUS is the cult classic and their debut very crucial and influential to the H8000 scene and it's perception on a global scale but this one truly has it all.

It's the most clear album concerning message because somehow I think the ethics needed time to be pronounced properly. Musically this is a masterpiece of metalcore or we easily said; metal. The precise and smooth succession of riffs and sounds elements of metal but with the hard hitting and heavy effect of hardcore this is a glorious way to solidify and keep alive the H8000 metal in the 00's. Not to speak of a glorious ending for a band!

Anyway I needed not much time to order this one from hardcore.gl when it got listed for a bargain price of 15 euro! Incredibly low price for such a good record! A while ago I was discussing this album with Josh Fury of Congress while doing the interview and we agreed unanimously about it!

This is probably the rarest version:

Left Hand Path Sleeve /20

Now I have a cool little mini collection of this underrated record:

Someone hit me up with the FINAL SHOW sleeve please!

There are a few logical splits in existence like the INTEGRITY / HATEBREED split 7" and the LIAR / CONGRESS split 7" and here's another logical split if you are aware of HOLY TERROR. I'm talking about this one that's already posted by a fellow blogger Gavin! But is not the same version. I think Gavin's must have been a pre-order version and mine seems a band- or Dwid-version!

INTEGRITY / ROT IN HELL split do7"

I realize I'm excessively introduced to those bands by MCS from Endless Quest Records / Blogspot. So nothing totally new here but in a way still new because I have never had something in the line of what MCS posted so excessively about in my hands for real.

It's kinda cool to receive something from Dwid himself for real too, because I was willing to do so for quite a long time now. And I didn't do this on purpose because my previous order from the HOLY TERROR webshop was coming from the USA. But this one's national post! And also signed by Dwid himself! What a surprise and reason to say "Hello" back to a fellow Belgian inhabitant!

I made a facebook page and added a social plug in on the right column of this blog. My goal is to get in touch with people who read Flandersfury Blogspot and also the followers of this blog to get in contact with each other. But also allow people to recommend something to their friends or discuss something about what I say with their friends! Most of the people who read this are music fanatics or even music collectors so maybe this Facebook page allow them to do trades or recommend something record oriented theirselves on my page instead of me only!

The rules are simple!

If you have something interesting to say and think it will be in other's interest too then post it. Don't post it if you wouldn't like to have it on your wall yourself! A little bit of that social internet feeling is requiered!

The goal is constructiveness, helping eachother out or improve eachother. Or simply talking and having good clean fun on the web.

It's far from my intention to let everything evolve around me, I'd even hate it if it becomes like that!

I will remove everything or even the person who gets arrogant or annoying for others in the community! As I do and already did for years on this blog!

Go like RECORD WITH HISTORY AND FUTURE on Facebook here . OR just click LIKE in the right Column of this site!

I was lucky enough to have the label I collect doing the biggest discount! REAPER RECORDS had a 30% discount on everything in their DIY store! So I expanded my collection and supported the label by ordering....

Here's a few noteworthy things that were in the parcel:

RR03

Yes, a supposed to be totally sold out very early Reaper Records release, the third to be precise! The first releases are totally impossible to find so was very happy to be able to buy now style.... It comes with a big poster insert:

Poster Insert

Looking at the poster artwork, we can see where Reaper Record started out. Documenting the local SYRACUSE (NY) hardcore scene! And I bought a double to listen too also. Talking about the aural healing power of Hardcore when listening to it! Cool comp to say at least, with A.W.O.L., Black Sheep Squadron, Attitude, No Idols and two I can't remember immediately.

The next things I picked up were two shirts, I thought looking aesthetic enough to wear:

This design is awesome to say at least. Just a one-color shirt and simple photo/bandname print but very cool indeed. Less is more again and despite the minimalistic approach not boring!

Also a super shirt, I think the REAPER designer are talented to say at least! My second KOTF shirt and with the Scott Vogel live picture this shirt is exactly where it's at! Notice also the TERROR logo on the sleeve...

Also the most recent pressing of this still selling and still in print record of TRAPPED UNDER ICE called STAY COLD. Amazing fact that this one's up to it's 5th pressing! Leaves me missing a few rare versions! Although I have quiet a few of all the versions.

If you are experienced with eBay by self study or by listening and learning from what vinylnoize has to say you can get some good deals besides the more common expensive deals. The seller had for these record I'm posting about real short and insufficient item descriptions made and a lack of tagging so these went under the radar of many collectors. But I knew more about them just by looking at it and from past experiences....

Anyway, the description for this one was "Side By Side vinyl". Not a mention about what pressing it was, what was the condition, label or whatever.... So I figured since I had none of every pressing and since it was mega cheap I decided to bid on it and won the auction easily. So here is the score ($31):

second press, silver label and bottom fold out sleeve

The next went even cheaper than this one ($26) and it the original Conviction Records pressing of the first Earth Crisis 7".

As that isn't enough luck I also scored the best condition copies of the Euridium 7" by Congress so far from the same seller. It's the brown 3rd pressing and can easily be graded and Near Mint and the purple second pressing!

As you can see collecting doesn't always have to make a hole in your budget... And that with a little experience and luck eBay can be a good place to buy... Luck because vinylnoize later did coverage of this seller with the same critics...!

There are several thing that need to be said about this song "Sinking In Sin". Firstly it is actually a cover of a song that is on the classic and legendary H8000 album 'The Blackened Persistence' by the band CONGRESS. Rise And Fall chose this song because the felt it's appropriate to how they feel nowadays, I read this in a recent interview they did for Some Will Never Know web- and paperzine.
Another thing that needs to be said is that 2 of H8000's godfathers did backing-vocals in the recording. On a sidenote I'd like to say that I've never heard such evil laughter in the background. But actually these back-ups are kinda putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. Namely Hans and Josh are the musicians and people that founded the H8000 scene so also formed Rise And Fall as what they are nowadays to an extent so their H8000 background is also figural present in the music of that song. Very symbolic those backingvocals to say at least: their cultural, musical background embodied by Hans' and Josh's backingvocals. So inviting them to sing along was a very good idea.
Thirdly I'd like to say that when I compare both versions, I really don't know which one's better. Both have charms, the original version is darker, more angry but the cover version has really done justice to the song. The intro has something touching but it is kinda touching also that both godfathers back Rise And Fall proudly and respectfully.
About the music; they added a new melody to the already existing intro-melody and both flow over in each other. Towards the end of this intro the viciousness crawls in the song, kick-starting the edge-metal trademark sound in full effect. While respecting the song Rise and Fall keeps their raging straight-forward character just until that evil laughter slows it down and brings it in an intermezzo to build up tension again with Josh's backing -while Bjorn screams mercilessly the awesome lyrics- To a hardcore influenced chugga chugga and then bringing back in the blistering metal towards the end!

Obviously I ordered all three colors straight from Deathwishinc.! The CLEAR is quite rare to their standards, 330 made only. The other colors are GREY (/770) and WHITE (/1100). And here's a picture:

All 3 Colors

Artwork by Jacob Bannon

Embossed Cover

I'd say do yourself a favor and listen to the song on youtube and order from the label to get this.

I case you don't have the lyrics:

Dark clouds are packing, witness the wrath of God
Rain is pouring on our heads like needles
The wind is cutting on our face
The bitter taste of our enemies
Rotting away in the bowels of humanity

I sink, I'm sinking down
But I won't drown in this stream

We already died when we fell
Before we crashed onto the concrete
Sucking those nipples one time to many
Exhausted remains are falling apart
The flow is washing away our sins
To start all over again in an empty womb

When all wounds are healed
we just have to rip them open again
Pouring salt into this leaks
Scratching fingers fresh, cold, numb
The bleeding finally stopped
But the pain will never end
Starving naked before god's eyes
Father laughs, our mother dies

As you can understand this post isn't records but about ultra-limited merchandise printed for Good Life Recordings probably by Toxic Merch. I guess this because of the quality Fruit Of The Loom brand....

In case you have been sleeping on the moon, you missed out on three fabulous designs all made by beatdown artists for beatdown bands! Anyway it are exiting times again at good life because of the flourishing of that scene. So here's a crewneck that tells a whole lot about us, where we are at and what we stand for:

The already famous and classic artwork from the CD

A New
Movement
Is On The Rise
And We Are
Here To
Document It

Before you say anything about it, please add that this out of 10 copies only! Now that's really limited, right!?

The next piece of cotton that printed is my first SIX FEET DITCH Merchandise, one that I actually like and would wear. Also ultra limited and in two colors (black and beige):

49 pieces only for the T-Shirt

Know that this brings back the g(l)ory amongst the Good Life customers, because the crewneck sold out in a jiffy! Not that difficult since it's a cool design and secondly limited to 10 also!

And lastly a shirt that will get highly sought after, the first TOO GROSS merchandise! Referring to a place we all either fear or either belong too: STATE HOME FOR THE UGLY... (just kidding).

15 copies through mailorder only

Anyway TOO GROSS is promisingly the new sh*t, because all members have a noteworthy beatdown background! Anyway it has one of my favorite vocalists on the microphone, Peachey! Read more about and listen soon to this band here! Also check this if you are unfamiliar with Peachey.

So thanks to all those who got linked up in this post also!!!

It's a previously underground and almost forgotten TAPE compilation chock-full of New York Hardcore rarities, that 22 years later made it on CD and vinyl! How cool the ways of Hardcore can be... Here's the awesome cover:

This package has been taken care of. And it proofs that every effort, even an underrated Tape and non-Revelation compilation from the year 1989 gets the attention it deserves by being printed on CD and LP. I chose to buy the vinyl format, because that's a beautiful way of presenting music and because it has more songs than the CD! It's more expensive, but worth the money.

Comes with a booklet with lyrics and graffiti inspired artwork of the bands and also a second insert sketching multicultural society in NEW YORK way back in 1989. This tape, they say was for the middle class streetkids. There seemed to grow a lack of unity while the older bands like YOUTH OF TODAY morphed into Shelter (embracing Krishna) and the Straight-edge also lost his attractiveness for the new kids. So that they formed and listened to new bands. Hence the name New Breed...

It are real insightful and interesting observations that BRIAN DEMOA did and wrote here on the insert in 2011. It seems that knowledge needs it time to grow and to become transferable...

Anyway if you are into NYC hardcore or into hardcore in general, you need this CD/2LP!
Namely On The Attack Records released also a 7" with two Beatdown bands; the Paris band PROVIDENCE and the USA band KING OF CLUBZ.

I really like the color-scheme of the artwork and the drawing itself isn't bad too. It's done by the vocalist of Providence, for whom I'm doing some scans of records I have...

About the music, well you can definitely hear that King Of Clubz has the rich and intense American hardcore history behind them. PROVIDENCE sounds more minimalistic and pure like most European Beatdown bands. And I'm into that purity and minimalism.
Sweet little record we have here, nothing that special but it's a Belgian/American band split 7" and first of all BLIND TO FAITH. The BTF-side brings us two new tracks that aren't on the LP. And has backing-vocals by Stephen of European fame and dominance Kickback. The only minus I can think of are these ridiculous werewolves at the beginning of the song "R.J." Someone please erase that from the 7" and would be perfect...

Anyway we have here the pre-order version on GOLD wax but it's a weird fact that Dom from a389 Records is keeping the pressing info off-line:

Blind To Faith Side: 2 songs

The American band that's on the flipside is GEHENNA! And this is the cover of the record:

Szymon Siech ARTWORK

Check Szymon Siech's facebook page and like BLIND TO FAITH and this artist! For those who don't know BTF is a Belgian Hardcore Holy Terror superband with members of RISE AND FALL, REPROACH, AMENRA.

Exists also on this more common colorway:
