Much like CW’s hit series Arrow before it, the first season of The Flash introduced a slew of characters from the DC Comics. One of those characters is Ronnie Raymond, played by Robbie Amell, who starts off the first season as just the fiancee of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), and eventually transforms into one half of Firestorm, along with Victor Garber‘s Dr. Martin Stein. Victor Garber has been confirmed as one of the stars of CW’s next spinoff, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which includes characters from both Arrow and The Flash, but Robbie Amell has not been announced as a part of the series. Victor Garber has recently teased in interviews that Ronnie will be present in some way, so when I spoke to Robbie Amell about The DUFF, available on Blu-ray and DVD today, I asked him about his involvement in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Here’s what he had to say below.

“All of those questions will be answered shortly, but I can’t actually tell you anything about it. What I can tell you is I’m going back to shoot more episodes of The Flash in July.”

The actor went on to confirm that The Flash Season 2 picks up directly after the Season 1 finale, to address the massive cliffhanger, where Barry (Grant Gustin) sped into the massive wormhole to save the day yet again. When asked about what he would like to see happen with Ronnie in the new season, the actor had this to say.

“I haven’t gotten any scripts yet, but it picks up immediately where the finale left off, because it was such a big cliffhanger, you have to. I don’t know what I’d like to see. The nice thing about the finale was getting to actually play Ronnie. You saw Ronnie in my first episode, and then I was this schizophrenic, frightened man, and then I was trying to figure things out with my other half, and I finally got to kind of play Ronnie in the finale. I was enjoying that character. I’d like to play more with that, and the relationship with Danielle Panabaker‘s character Caitlin, but I always have so much fun shooting with Victor, so anything else Victor and I can shoot together would be great.”

Robbie Amell was also part of a clever piece of crossover marketing for both Arrow and The Flash called “Superhero Fight Club,” where heroes and villains from both shows “blow off some steam” by fighting in a massive steel cage. When asked if this premise would ever be included in the show itself, Robbie Amell had this to say.

“I don’t know who’s idea it was, creatively, but we were doing just a photo shoot, and they were like, ‘By the way, there’s a stage.’ Glen Winter, who directed a bunch of episodes, directed it, and Bam Bam and all of the fight choreographers from Arrow and The Flash, all choreographed. They just banged it out in like a day and a half of photoshoots, grabbing people when they could, and it was unbelievably smart. I know nothing more than what you’ve seen. There’s been no talk of implementing it, but it was one of the best marketing strategies I’ve seen in a long time. It was a blast to shoot, and I would absolutely love to do some more Superhero Fight Club stuff.”

The Flash will return this fall on The CW, returning to its Tuesday 8 PM time slot, while the spinoff DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is slated to debut in midseason. Jake Simmons also known as Deathbolt might not be the most recognizable villain in the DC comic books but he is said to be unique compared to other “Arrow” and “The Flash” archenemies. Aside from making an appearance in both CW superhero shows, he is also the only metahuman whose powers did not come from the pipeline explosion. Following his downfall in “The Flash”, some might say that Deathbolt will no longer be seen again but actor Doug Jones who portrayed his role considers the possibility of his character’s return at some point.

Doug Jones actually teased during his interview with Comic Book that there might be a possible way to bring back the character because of the uncertain nature of Deathbolt’s end in the show. According to him, after Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold shot him in the face, a question still remains: if his character was really killed or was just silenced for a minute.

“They never really did paint it as a full on death,” he said.  “I think I could give the writers some leeway. If I’m busy they don’t have to bring me back, if I’m free and available and they want me, I’ll return. We’ll see.”

Last time around, Jake Simmons was one of the few metahumans prisoner the S.T.A.R. Labs team was putting away from the facility. Unfortunately, the truck which was carrying the prisoners has been sabotaged by Snart and his sister Lisa which caused Simmons to escape. According to Cinema Blend, before Simmons nearly killed Flash, he got blasted in the face by Snart’s gun. Though it ended with his face blackened by the freezer gun, it was really not verified whether he was truly iced.

Considering death in the world of comic books is not automatically permanent, it gives the possibility that Deathbolt can be brought back if the writers and producers really want to.

Meanwhile, the second season of “The Flash” is expected to kick off this fall on CW, with the all-new superhero show “Legends of Tomorrow” debuting at midseason.

As comic book fans know, Grodd is a hyper-intelligent telepathic gorilla whose eventual appearance was teased back in the show’s pilot, which included a shot of a his damaged and empty cage at S.T.A.R. Labs. Grodd, who was also revealed to be one of General Wiling’s (Clancy Brown) former test subjects, recently took down two maintenance workers in a sewer that had scribblings of his own name all over the walls.

Actress known for her heartbreaking turn as sweet, sensitive, dead Beth on AMC’s zombie romp plays villain Brie Larvan on freshman superhero series

Former “Walking Dead” star Emily Kinney joins the cast of “The Flash” as the villain Bug-Eyed Bandit/Brie Larvan, a spokesperson for The CW told TheWrap on Monday.

Kinney’s casting comes just a few months after the actress’s character was killed off of AMC’s highly rated zombie series.

Brie, a re-imagining of the classic DC villain Bertram Larvan, is described as a narcissistic tech wizard who wreaks havoc on Central City, which The Flash (Grant Gustin) has sworn to protect. She’s billed as a nemesis for the “Arrow” character Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), who sometimes crosses over to “The Flash.”

Felicity and Brie will engage in a hacker battle for The Flash’s life on Episode 18 of the freshman drama.

In addition to starring on nearly 50 episodes of “The Walking Dead” as Beth Greene before being killed off last November, Kinney has appeared on individual episodes of Fox’s “The Following,” NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and ABC’s “Forever.” She also had a short run on Showtime’s “The Big C.”
