East London Brick Lane Fashion Show

Hey hey, so what is this fashion show that I was excited about? Well, it is a fashion show organized by Brick Lane Fashion. Held at Cafe 1001, the show is a collaboration between independent designers and businesses local to the East End. The designers exhibit and sell their collections in the surrounding areas markets, Brick Lane boutiques and through their own websites and ASOS marketplace.

How was it? Hmmm, i think it's good effort! There's definitely loads of work and effort that has been put in to produce this show. However, having been exposed to quite a number of fashion shows on screen and fashion studies. I felt there's so much this show could improve on for a more professional feel and finish.

Since the aim of a fashion show is to attract buyers to buy the clothes, models have a huge responsibility in selling them. Therefore, having models who look and walk like, "ahh...I can't wait to finish the show, I want to go home." should be a no no.
If the models lack confidence, look and behaved disinterested, how will buyers or press have confidence in the collection? Agree? Another thing will be the backdrop, the designers' brand and collection name were projected on the side and not on the main backdrop of the runway, why!?

Nevertheless, I'm very thankful to be invited as a guest and impressed with Sophie, who invited me, (she's so warm and friendly!) on how promptly she had handled the issue my friends and I had with the bar (I will talk about this in another post, because it's so appalling!).

Lastly, as promised in my earlier post! I've taken loads of photos at the fashion show to share with you. However, as the models were walking a little too fast or maybe it's my skill issue. I couldn't capture many nice shots, so I took clips and combined them into a vid!^^ (as seen above)

Hello friends! How is it going for you these days? The weather here, in London, is getting warmer FINALLY! Today's such a lovely day!^^ Floral flocks are out to play and people are walking around eating ice-cream and SMILING. A rare sight since London has been cold for more than half a year. Holy cow, it's been cold for this long?! So you can just imagine, it is really really nice to finally not only see the sun but feel the heat too!^^

What's weather like over where you are?

I've been so busy these days with my research report (dateline is approaching *shakehead*) and preparation for another consignment. So I'm really sad I don't have much time to blog. Another consignment? Yeap, you read it right. Fleur Avenue has found another home for her goods! I will tell you more in another post!^^

Right now, I just wanna share with you my excitement about tomorrow! I'm going to a fashion show! It's my first one invitation and I'm really thankful and happy to be invited! What is it about? *HINT* It's related to the above pictures. For now, I will keep you in the dark but I promise to snap loads of pictures to share with you!^^ so check back later, will you?

The Bunny Rabbit

Hello friends! As mentioned in my earlier post, I did promise to explain why I choose the bunny rabbit as Fleur Avenue's ambassador, didn't i? So, here's a post to answer "Why a bunny rabbit?".

For a long time, I was looking for an animal to represent Fleur Avenue but never had time to actually do much research. The opportunity came when I had to unfortunately take a long break from the blog and the shop due to the change of environment, personal issues and some bad people who decided to take advantage of the weak situation I was in.

Nevertheless, life goes on and I wasn't going to let myself cry over spilt milk any longer and letting these bad people win just isn't right. Yes I fell, but I'm going to stand up, think positive and find the good in the bad. The break gave me loads of time to reflect, rethink and reorganize my thoughts about my life and about Fleur Avenue, In the meantime I was also attending lectures on fashion and business, so that kind of inspired me and straighten my thoughts.

So my first step for Fleur Avenue was to find an animal to represent Fleur Avenue. Why an animal? Well because I have always imagine Fleur Avenue to be like a florist with a magical garden, forest full of lovely flowers, fairies, birds and little animals gathering around. Just like in fairytales. Fleur Avenue is like a florist. Her beautiful flowers are jewellery and accessories to beautify women as flowers do to earth and to put smiles on women as flowers do.

So, I did my research on several animals and I found the rabbit's personality to be the ideal animal I'd like Fleur Avenue to be associated with.

A Personal Reason for making me more incline to choose the bunny rabbit over another animal is because my little sister is born in the year of the rabbit and she's my sweet cutie bunny pie. She's my pillar of support and my best friend. She's always cheering me up when I'm down. My greatest fan (She would steal my clothes to copy my looks) and from the time I started Fleur Avenue, she's been ultra supportive. Always commenting on how beautiful the pieces are and how much she wants to buy them all. She also gives me a hand with my mom when I had loads of order to complete. Assisting me with wrapping, stamping and at times when I can't decide, she gives me a hand in deciding for example which colour bead to pick. She's a precious gift from God to me, my bunny angel.

Therefore, it's my wish that everyone who wears fleur avenue jewellery will identify with these values and be blessed with a bunny in their life who can be their pillar of strength and support.

A little organza pouch in included with every item you purchase from us, so you to keep and store them away when you aren't using them.Before packaging them for mail, we place them in a resealable zip & lock bag which you can use to prevent your pieces from tarnishing and oxidation.we then wrapped in tissue and secured with our designed - labels. and attach our self-designed return labels and fragile labels ('fragile' in bright so it's eye catching'!) onto padded envelopes for added protection and preventing your items from getting damaged or careless handling. (more pictures in a bit.) Do you like what you see? If you have any feedback or opinions or advice, please do drop us comments and let us know. We are open to comments to improve our packaging, especially when it comes down to protection. New Banner

Just designed a new banner for the blog! ^^ Do you like it? I've in-cooperated fleur avenue's new logo (I know I should be telling you about the new logo first but that will take some time to organize so I'll do that soon.) Anyway, I was thinking hard about what to write on the banner, almost wanting to like leave it as it is with just the logo when a thought struck me. "Why think so hard?" Sometimes, the answer is just there waiting for you to uncover, so I decided to think simply and asked myself "what is this blog about?" Then I felt a gush of inner peace and typed "''s dreams and inspirations'".

Isn't this what this blog has always been about! Once I got that down, I illustrated the banner with clouds to signify dreamers and dreams. I've always been told "She's such a dreamer." Well, if you don't dream, how will you have a direction? Now, you may ask, how about that bunny rabbit I see there with one ear up? I will write the reason in a short write up in the next post, so check back later if you are curious!

Hello friends, have you been to Double Store at London's Brick Lane? It is one of the retail store Fleur Avenue selected to work with, so you can browse, try or shop our jewellery and accessories physically. Double Store is selected because firstly, it is a whimsical, elegant and chic little independent boutique which is similar to Fleur Avenue. Don't you love the interior? It's so beautifully and artistically styled, isn't it? Secondly, the location. Double Store is located in Brick Lane, home to a lively media. fashion and arts scene, minutes walk away from Shoreditch High Street overground tube station. Totally convenient. Most importantly, it is their customer service which I love. Sonia and her assistants are very warm and friendly people who immediately makes you feel very comfortable and welcomed in the store with their smiles and friendly attitude. They absolutely do not follow you around pestering you to buy, or give you a frown when you don't. So you can be relax and take your time to browse!

P.S: If you are wondering why some of the designs can't be found in our online store, that's because we're constantly inspired to create new designs all the time and not all can be photographed at once to be listed online due to time constraint. Your item(s) will be electronically tracked up to the point they leave the UK and you will need to sign for your items. A tracking code provided by the post office will be issued to you upon request. You will then be able to use their "Track and Trace" to confirm your item has been mailed. If you will like to trace and confirm your delivery all the way, Please contact us to upgrade to Airsure. In the event of loss or damage of items, a compensation claim will be filed up to £49 / approximately $77.60. Please note this is not the same as insurance. If your purchase amounts to more than £49 pounds and you will like to insure your items, please contact us.

Jaren Goh -- Rollertoaster

Have you seen this bread toaster? Designed by Jaren Goh, a Singapore-based industrial designer, this toaster has won the Red Dot Award. When I first saw this, I was thinking..."is that a hair straightener? wait a moment, oh no....it's a toaster, wow, ok."

I definitely like the size, because I have a tiny kitchen, so it will definitely save me loads of space compared to the one I have right now. Design wise, I think it will fit nicely into a modern minimalistic kitchen, because it's clean and simple. What do you say?
