Dear Ukrainians, Chechen people support you in the war against the aggressor represented by the Russian empire, in word and deed.

Our people supported the Ukrainians during the Holodomor. Chechens gave shelter to many people in those times.

UPDATE: Received this message this morning "Are you sure? I'm watching this video. Valeriy's wife gives an interview. On February 18 Valery called her every half hour. In the morning he said that fighting began on the Institutska street. He had to go to the Maidan. Because he did not have the right outfit. The wife says: " He did not even have a helmet". A person in your photo has a helmet. Valery was killed on the not barricade. He was killed late in the evening (almost at midnight) on the Maidan."

Is this man on my left Valeriy Brezdenyuk, the Urkarinian painter who was shot in the back on 18 FEB 2014? Please, if someone in Ukraine knows his family, please get in touch with me. This man saved my life.

Four years ago today I was hit by two grenades in Maidan, protected by EuroMaidan protestors as I retreated, and smuggled out of downtown Kiev by sympathizers to Germany for medical treatment.

I will never forget the love and support of the Ukrainian people during their trying times in February 2014.
