There was the merest hint of tongue in cheek.

As an Australian, I understand the language.

Since I’m not English, I can only assume you have a similar phrase over there.

Doubtless you remember what Shaw would have said if he’d said it: “England and Australia are two countries separated by a different language.”

Australia played like crap in the first innings and England didn’t do enough to force a result.

It’s not just one bad innings, Guy, it’s a building frustration with KP’s inability to gauge when playing that way is appropriate.

I agree with you that he’s got us out of the crap a number of times in the past but he’s also put us in it a few times too.

A supremely gifted player, I just wish he’d engage his brain more.

Its amazing-one bad innings and the knives are out for KP-hypocrytical English press-saying he is dangerous or a liability to English cricket when he has saved your sorry backsides for so long and undoubtedly will continue to do so.Its also so sad that the ‘founding fathers’ of cricket consider a draw against the ‘Australians’ a win!
