Annoying thing about trying to learn portraiture is that you need a model to help you practice. Pretty annoying limitation that can lead to someone giving up pretty quickly. Could probably hop on model mayhem or some randomness and find people, but meh just seems like too much hassle.

Great thing about street photography is that all you need is a cam and some music and you are set. I guess its time to start shooting self portraits or buy a mannequin…

Here are a few photos that I took in the park, it was “golden hour” and there was a girl sitting reading a book and light was falling on her really nicely. I approached her and said I take photos and that the light on her is great, is it ok to take a photo. She said, “cool”. Spoke to her a bit to try help her relax then in a few seconds took a few pics, gave her my card then ninjaed on out.

I guess harassing strangers is my only hope lol

Started a project a few months ago, but life and a few other factors got in the way resulting in me stopping. Currently doing another project that involves portraits -> http://streetportrait.tumblr.com/

The theme of the project was to make compositions of interesting park scenes, this is probably the best photo I got from the project:

Who knows, maybe one day I will actually finish the project

Bought a 135mm yesterday. Was waiting around at the bottom of the temple when I saw a girl in pink jump down stairs by herself. Luckily had the 135 on and was standing in the right place. Slightly tight on the top, but I like the way it came out, probably shot wide open and zero post processing. Like the colors this lens renders.

Need to do a portrait session with this lens and mess around with the DC function asap.

Havent updated this blog in a while, been busy with a little project that you can find here -> http://streetportrait.tumblr.com/

So with the death of portra nc, the best color film in the world, I decided to give new portra a try. Not sure if im impressed with it, results are super fickle. I tried Fuji 400h and think that it is amazing, super consistent and really nice colors.

ISO 400 on a big medium format camera is too slow at night if you want to shoot above 60 shutter speed, so I decided to check out the old portra 800.

Must say im really happy with the roll I shot, consistent nice colors.

Here are two shots I took in Odaiba on the weekend:

Think this film is a winner, praying it doesnt get discontinued zzzz.
