Question by All You Need = Love: Does anyone want to see my new dance?
I call it “the fish”, cos I look like a fish when I do it. My cheeks represent the bass when I push them in and out, my head movements and eyes represent the drums and how the tunes are going. My neck shows how fast the song is. Ialso use my hands on the side of my face like “fins”, and usually just stay with the rhythm. I came up with it one night of drinking and it was a hit. What do you think?

Here we are at the end of our walk this morning at a wood near Croy, Inverness-shire. The view beyond Linda and Benny is Strathnairn.
I went back in the afternoon and fished the river but never caught anything.
Only 4 days left until the end of the fishing season on the river Nairn.

Weir on the River Almond

There’s a fish-ladder just out of shot to the right and we watched as the salmon flung themselves at it on their way upstream to their breeding grounds…. I guess that’s the fly fishing season just about finished for another year.

There’s a place where my dad took us to go fishing near a trout hatchery and they have this really nice path from the camping area to the stream. It looks really nice in fall when the leaves turn, but we only ever go in the spring when it’s fishing season.

Question by : can you use Garlic for Guppies internal parasites?
Please help!

My guppy pooped white/clear stringy stuff, won’t eat and barely moves around, just hovers.
she is pregnant, but just started.
Is this internal parasites?
If it is, could i put her in a separate fish bowl for a little while and treat with garlic?
If i can, how do i treat it with garlic?

And please no “oh just get the stuff from the pet store” thx

Best answer:

Answer by Ann
Garlic itself isn’t a treatment, but is good when treating to coax fish into eating the actual treatment. Mix some meds in with thawed frown brine shrimp, add garlic juice to mask the taste of the meds, and let it sit for a few minutes to soak into the brine shrimp before feeding. The garlic itself, however, will not treat parasites.

The meds you need depends on the parasite. Some (like camallanus worms- my tank got them, not fun) are much harder to treat. But obviously, INTERNAL treatments are a good place to start, don’t waste your money on treatments for external parasites. Try to find out what parasite you have.

EDIT: Did some more reading. Garlic can be used to remove some internal parasites, but is not strong enough for all. In any case, fish love the taste, and it can be used to mask the taste of stronger meds that might be necessary.

Question by Charles Slone (MY NEW ONE): What are some of the most repeated Q’s in the fishing section?
Don’t it make your skin craw when people ask these questions all the time, when all they have to do is type in “bass lures” on google or yahoo? Foolishness. But, this is the 5 most frequently asked Q’s in the fishing section. Feel free to add another Q if ya want to. In no order it would be…

1.) What is the best bass lure?
2.) What bait is best for catfish?
3.) How do you spool line into a spinning/baitcasting or spincasting reel?
4.) What’s the biggest fish you’ve ever caught?
5.) Does the Banjo Minnow/Helicopter Lure/Walking Worm, etc. etc. work?

Add some more if ya want to. What question do you hate the most? lol
Mine is “Does the Banjo Minnow really work?”
Bassplayer haha…i have asked a couple of ‘em HA!

Gimmeaname you made me really laugh when you said “Put a banjo minnow on a pocket fisherman and you’ll catch a load of bass!” HA

I do recall asking “one” of those questions before…i asked Anyone own the Pocket Fisherman? IS it any good? HA But, i was new to this here YA! thing..i was anxious!
Bassplayer i recall the blowing up steelhead in granny’s yard question! hahahahaha…so funny…
it’s a shame that guy asked the SAME question at least 3 times!

Best answer:

Answer by bassplayer_1313
it’s not really the questions l dislike most. it is when a question has an obvious answer and the asker doesn’t have enough sense to realize it. whether it’s identifying a fish or wanting to know which is the best dynamite to use when trout fishing. like:
“hey, dude, do l need a license to blow up steelhead in granny’s back yard creek and why do l need a license if l’m only nineteen?

Question by Nathan H: The priest goes fishing?
While fishing with an old friend from the days before he was a man of the cloth, a priest catches a huge fish. His friend exclaims, “Whoa! That’s a huge sunuvabitch!”

The priest says, “I’m a man of God now, you can’t speak to me like that.”

His friend, feeling like an idiot, says, “No, that’s uh… just what it’s called! It’s a sunuvabitch.”

The priest accepts this answer and at the end of the day, he takes the fish back to his church. The pope was arriving for a dinner that night, and the priest thought it would be an extra-special meal if the pope ate a fish he caught.

He takes the fish into his church, obviously proud of his catch. He shows it to the altar boy, telling the story of catching this huge sunovabitch. Astonished, the child says, “You’re a man of God, you shouldn’t be talking like that!”

The priest says, “No, that’s what it’s called! A sunuvabitch!”

He takes it to the kitchen, and the chef compliments him on his fish. “Yeah, I caught this sunuvabitch myself!”
The chef looks nervous, and reminds him. “You are a man of God now, you can’t talk like that any more!”

The priest explains that it’s a sunuvabitch fish and there’s no reason to be alarmed.

That night, they have a great meal with the pope, and the centerpiece is the very nicely prepared fish. After the meal, the pope compliments them on the fish. The priest puffs out his chest and says, “Yeah, I caught the sunuvabitch!”

The altar boy says, “It’s true, I saw him bring that sunuvabitch in just today!”

The cook confirms, adding, “I’m glad you liked it, I spent hours preparing that sunuvabitch just for you!”

The pope is speechless at this point. He throws his hat to the floor. He puts his feet on the table, and says, “You know what? You motherfuckers are alright.”

Best answer:

Thanks for the 2 points though

Question by Emily B: Is this fish tank considered salt- or freshwater? Ok for German Blue Ram?
I have always added 1/2 tsp of “API Aquarium Salt” to each (properly-conditioned) gallon I cycle into my community aquarium.

I recently discovered German Blue Rams, labeled as strictly freshwater chiclids, with very low tolerance (if any) for salt water. My mollies/platies/swords/wags, etc are also considered “Freshwater” but are known do OK in various salinity levels.

Question 1: Would this water considered fresh, brackish or salt? The product IS called aquarium SALT. (But the packaging DOES say “For Freshwater Fish” on the label.) [See example at: http://www.theaquariumshop.com.au/shopexd.asp?id=1025&name=Aquarium+Pharmaceuticals+API+Aquarium+Salt+454g]

Question 2: Is this water basically suitable for a Blue Ram?

Best answer:

Answer by sue
No.
What you have is a freshwater tank with added salt. You need marine salt to make a brackish aquarium.
Aquarium salt is a con. There are some uses for salt as a treatment in a freshwater tank but it is harmful to many fish and accumulates over time.

Mollies are hardwater to brackish fish and if they are thriving the rams won’t.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by : In Special Laws IV, §101-102 Philo writes…?
Now of land animals, the swine is confessed to be the nicest of all meats by those who eat it, and of all aquatic animals the most delicate are the fish which have no scales; and Moses is above all other men skilful in training and inuring persons of a good natural disposition to the practice of virtue by frugality and abstinence, endeavouring to remove costly luxury from their characters, (102) at the same time not approving of unnecessary rigour, [[[[[[[like the lawgiver of Lacedaemon, nor undue effeminacy, like the man who taught the Ionians and the Sybarites lessons of luxury and license]]]]]]], but keeping a middle path between the two courses, so that he has relaxed what was over strict, and tightened what was too loose, mingling the excesses which are found at each extremity with moderation, which lies between the two, so as to produce an irreproachable harmony and consistency of life, on which account he has laid down not carelessly, but with minute particularity, what we are to use and what to avoid.

Does anyone know who the “lawgiver of Lacedaemon” is, or “the man who taught the Ionians and the Sybarites lessons of luxury and license”?

Thanks.

Question by : Blowfish poisoning sends 7 to hospital in Japan. Your thoughts?
Tue Jan 27, 3:40 pm ET

TOKYO – Blowfish testicles prepared by an unauthorized chef sickened seven diners in northern Japan and three remained hospitalized Tuesday after eating the poisonous delicacy.

The owner of the restaurant in Tsuruoka city, who is also the chef, had no license to serve blowfish and was being questioned on suspicion of professional negligence, police official Yoshihito Iwase said.

Blowfish, while extremely poisonous if not prepared properly, is considered a delicacy in Japan and is consumed by thrill-seeking gourmets.

Iwase said the seven men ordered sashimi and grilled blowfish testicles at the restaurant Monday night.

Shortly after, they developed limb paralysis and breathing trouble and started to lose consciousness — typical signs of blowfish poisoning — and were rushed to a hospital for treatment, Iwase said.

A 68-year-old diner remained hospitalized in critical condition with respiratory failure and two others, aged 55 and 69, were in serious condition, he said.

“It’s scary. If you go to a decent-looking restaurant that serves fugu, you would assume a cook has a proper fugu license,” Iwase said, using the Japanese term for blowfish.

Blowfish poison, called tetrodotoxin, is nearly 100 times more poisonous than potassium cyanide, according to the Ishikawa Health Service Association. It can cause death within an hour and a half after consumption.

Three people died and 44 others were sickened by blowfish poisoning in 2007 — most of them after catching the fish and cooking it at home — according to the Health Ministry.

Edit:

Note to self: Stay away from Hootie and his Blow Fish. Especially Blow Fish testicles. ( o _ 0 ) Ewwwww!
Hahahahahahahahahahaha! LOL@ Terry L. ( ^ _ ^ ) Ha! That was funny!

Answer by Bruce
…

I think you are being sarcastic, I’ve seen other answers from you about it.

I kinda doubt it, for alot of reviewers it works some it dosent. That’s why it has 3 1/2 star rating… Eh, well what can ya do?

Personally I think nearly EVERYTHING that is marked “as seen on TV” is a bunch of lies, and alot of the reviews are written by the company workers themselves. But what do I know? I’m just a little ol weirdo who likes to act as if he was british…

Good day sir! “Takes off gloves and slaps across face” Don’t you just love tea?

“Fishin influenced games… Games influenced me”
