Need to Fix Your Sta Rite Pump? Sta Rite Pump Parts -
                            Wednesday, September 30, 2015

So you notice that your water isn’t running like it normally does and you start to investigate what the problem is. After going down the list of things that could be causing the problem you finally end up at your Sta Rite Pump and realize that it is what is causing the problem. After you get done yelling obscenities at it you calm down and try to figure out if you are going to have to get a replacement or if you will be able to just replace one of the Sta Rite Pump Parts. Let’s take a look at what the different parts are and what they do.

Sta Rite Pump Parts

•Motor

The motor is what causes the Impeller to spin inside of the pump. If your pump will not start, it is normally more cost effective to buy a new pump (unless your warranty covers it)

•Seal Plate

The Seal Plate keeps water from leaking from pump

•Seal Plate Gasket

•Shaft Seal

•Impeller

The Impeller is constantly spinning to help water continue to flow efficiently

•Diffuser

The Diffuser optimizes the flow of water through the pump

•Diffuser Gasket

•Pressure Switch

Allows you to control the pressure output of your Pump

As you can see just because your Sta Rite Pump is having issues does not mean that you need to automatically trade it in for a new one. If your pump is leaking you may want to check if your seal plate is cracked and is calling the leak. If your pump simply isn’t pumping water at the rate that it normally does you may want to look into getting the Impeller or Diffuser replaced.

If you need to get a new part take a look at one of our Parts lists to make sure you get the right one. Just Click the link for your Sta Rite Pump Model and choose the picture that displays that Pumps Parts. If you already know the part number simply type it into our Search bar and you can order it!

The Myers HJ Series Pumps are some of the most popular Water Jet Pumps that you will find. The reason they are so popular is because they are very dependable and very cost effective. You can also get many different models of the HJ Series depending on what kind of performance you need. Another great thing about the HJ Series Pumps is that you can use them whether you are trying to get a pump for your home or for an Office Building.

These Myers Jet Pumps can be used for both Shallow Well and Deep Well Applications.

SHALLOW WELL

The Shallow Well Jet Pumps are great for running your Home Water System or even your Irrigation System. Your Pump will be able to pull water from as low as 25 feet under the ground (so make sure you know how deep your well is). When choosing which pump you need it is important to consider the Specs of the pump to make sure it will provide what you need.

You can check these Shallow Well Specs below.

Having Pool Pump Problems? To Fix or Replace-

When you initially think of having a pool installed you have the normal happy go lucky attitude. You just think of all the awesome Summer Pool Parties and having relaxing days Poolside. Those moments are definitely there but it seems like the reality of pool ownership hits when you start having the dreaded Pool Pump Problems.

The issues that come along with Pool Pumps Problems can be so broad. It can be everything from the annoying noisy pump to the pump that just dies and is seems like nothing but a very heavy paper weight. Sometimes the issues can be fixed relatively easily (especially with professional help) and sometimes it’s time to look for a New Pump.

Here are a few Key Factors that will help you decide if you are better off Repairing your Pool Pump or Replacing your Pool Pump.

REPAIR

1. Clearly the first thing you would do is see if the cost to Repair the pump is lower than the cost to get a Replacement.

2. If you want to avoid the expense of hiring a Plumbing Contractor

3. If your Pump was purchased within the last 5 years. Most Pumps are good for a decade so this could be more cost effective in the long term.

REPLACE

1. If your Pool Pump is too powerful or not powerful enough to do what you need it to. If you are running a monster of a Pump without needing all of that power you are likely running up your Utility bill. This also works Vice versa with a pump that is not powerful enough to handle the job.

2. If your Pump is over 5 Years old. If you are having trouble at this point it will usually be cost effective to get a new one.

3. If you live in States with Strict Energy Use Laws. States like Florida, Texas and California are serious about conserving energy. They require that pool owners install Energy Efficient Pumps

If you are trying to cut down the cost of owning and maintaining your pool the Pentair Whisper Flo Series is a great choice for you. The Whisper Flo is one of the greatest combinations of Price and Efficiency out on the market today. The New Technology in these Pumps allows more water to circulate in a smaller amount of time. This is one of the main factors that makes the Whisper Flo Pumps consume less energy. Another great thing that comes from the way water circulates through these pumps is how it effects the noise level of the pump. It makes it so the noise level of your pump is very quiet.

Another great aspect of the Pentair Whisper Flo pumps is that they have an integral filter with a clear cover. This makes it easy to check your pump filter and to monitor if there is anything lodged in your pump that could cause issues. These Pool Pumps also give a lot more freedom in regards to choosing when the Pump will run. The Pump is so efficient that you do not have to run it as frequently as most other Pool Pumps. This will definitely help to lower the electric bill.

There are a number of issues that a Jet Pump can have. Among those issues there are a few that are quite common. We are going to go over some common issues to check that will most likely get you’re your Water Pump up and running if it will not start at all.

-The Zone Valve may not be opening. This makes it so that water can’t flow through the Pump. Check to see if your Water Systems pressure has dropped. If so this could definitely be your issue.

- Check the Circuit Breaker. Check all of the circuits and wires to see if any wires are disconnected or if you can see obvious damage.

-Is your Motor Set to the correct Voltage? This mistake happens a lot more than one might think. There is usually a switch that you can toggle between the motors different voltage options. (This is assuming that you don’t have a Single Speed Pump.)

- Check Wiring on motor. Just like you checked the Circuit Breakers wires, now you want to check the actual wiring on the motor.

- Not getting any Voltage? Make sure to see how much, if any, voltage you are getting from the side of your motor. If you are not getting any voltage the pressure switch could be the issue.
