I don’t want to come up with lame excuses for the sporadic posts in the blog. I’ve been missing in action for a while and now I can appreciate more the importance of being anonymous. I try to write but sometimes couldn’t. I screen what I write on this blog and unless I want my boyfriend to tease me again about what I post, I keep the mushiness to a minimum. :)

To the beach again

Last Easter Sunday, we went to the beach again. It was my second time to go to the beach this summer and this time, it was with friends from work. Travel was a bit tiresome because it took us about an hour and a half getting to the beach resort. It took us an hour or a bit more than that on the tricycle ride alone.

But I think it was worth it because of the view! It was a clear and sunny day, the blue skies and the clouds were beautiful. Lucky me, the photographer.:D

We went island hopping and saw a bit of the surrounding islands. I’ve got no photos to show you when we went swimming in one of the caves since I can’t bring my camera. ;(
We saw four men just sitting on their boat doing nothing. Maybe it was just right after their lunch. I waved at them for the picture but they just looked at us with no reaction at all.

One of the few white beaches we saw. We stopped on this beach since it’s the only beach that isn’t too crowded.

Holy Week

Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Black Saturday are usually considered holidays so there’s no class (school’s out anyway) and no work. But hospital duty still continues even on my birthday on Saturday. :( But there’s something that we look forward to on Sunday, we’re going to the beach again! :)

Guisi Beach, Guimaras

This post is way overdue. My computer and net connection are so slow, I gave up the first few times. :( We went to Guisi Beach in Guimaras Island, and all it took to get there was a a 15-minute pumpboat ride to the wharf and an hour of tricycle ride to the beach itself. We stayed there for the night. There’s no phone signal in most areas so you need to find a certain spot in the beach to call your loved ones reassuring them you’re not lost. Haha.Anyway, it’s a bit of a hassle sometimes when I use my DSLR camera for out of town trips because it’s heavy. Sometimes, using just my camera phone is always good enough. ;)

Kalachuchi

I’m crazy over these flower trees lately. They’re called kalachuchi in our local dialect and they’re fairly common in the Philippines. I love its crooked branches, and I also love those times where you can see no leaves except for the flowers. :) These photos were taken just outside the Sto. NiÑo Parish of Arevalo. This kalachuchi tree has the most beautiful flowers I’ve seen so far. :)

I’m on vacation

My two week vacation officially started last Saturday. I left work in a daze last Friday after a crazy shift in the dialysis unit. I was looking forward to these two weeks of doing anything except work and so far I’m loving it. And I’m especially looking forward going to the beach this coming weekend! :D Waaaahhh! Five more days to go! ♥

Orchid shopping

There were loads of photos from our orchid shopping trip a few weeks ago that never made it to the blog. It was a week before the annual feast of Candelaria. Besides the usual “peryahan” (carnival) scene, there were lots of fruit vendors and there was this other part of the plaza that was clearly meant for flower lovers (like me!).

No matter how much faith we have in a relationship, we lose someone. It’s been a little more than a month since we parted ways. I promise not to dwell on whatever happened the past few years. New Year, new lens

It’s only recently that I get to do my favorite test shots with my “now not so new” Canon 50mm f1.8 lens. I’ve been dying to have this lens since early last year and was excited to have the lens as an early Christmas gift for myself. Sorry blog, I wasn’t able to tell you about it. :D I used it on parties, but had gotten the same question whenever I let someone else handles my camera. “Doesn’t it zoom?” Haha. I have to explain a few times that it’s a fixed lens, etc. Whew. It got me thinking if I did get the right lens, and for flower photos like these, no question. I think it’s better than my kit lens. ;)

The most beautiful things

There are things that I love about flowers that I love taking pictures of them all the time. I love that they’re of different shades. Personally, I love reds and pinks because I think they stand out more than any other color. And I think flowers are one of the most beautiful things ever created. It would be fun to visit a flower nursery within the city and get lost taking photos of a range of roses and mums. How about you? Do you also love shooting flowers?

It’s been good hearing from blog readers. Yes, I’ve been away for quite a while. I just didn’t have the extra time these days. It’s mostly work that consumes my time and I couldn’t stay up late just like I used to. It comes with age, I think. Or maybe not. ;)

Anyway, the prob with the ad swap code in Passionfruit had been fixed. You can start swapping with me again. ;) Enjoy the rest of your week! ♥

Merek Davis’ Mextures

It’s nearly midnight and I’m still updating my blog and Flickr account. *sigh* A word of advice. If you have decided to start over again with your blog, be sure of your decision and put all earlier posts into private instead of deleting everything. And don’t delete your Flickr photos! Been working at these for a few days, and it’s such hard work. ;(

Anyway, just wanted to share with you some photos I’ve taken with my phone’s native camera. The photos were edited with VSCOcam, and Merek Davis’ mextures were applied in Photoforge2. ♥ The mextures gives your photos a filmy look. And what’s great is that it’s free! Yup! But you’ve got to find a photo editing app that can do layers. That’s where the Photoforge2 comes in! ♥ Watch this video to see how you can use the mextures with Photoforge2.

What’s on my mind

I’ve been missing a lot of things here in the “blue space”. I’ve been busy with work as always, and there’s less time to spend online especially on this blog, but there’s really no pressure. There’s so many things that I need and want to do. Here are some of the things I’ve been thinking lately.

I love a simple blog design, and I’ve always wanted a new look. I’ve been meaning to look for someone who can do digital calligraphy. I know Photoshop and Illustrator, but I don’t have a tablet. I just need two words done, with all the right swashes and swirls. Maybe not swirls. It’s not the main priority right now, but I’m just sayin’ it’s been on my mind for months. A MUST WANT!
Also, I’ve been thinking of making my old posts (from 2009 to 2012) public again. I don’t know. I think writing had become pointless for me, when I know there’s even the possibility of deleting the posts in the future, just like I did before. What do you think? The posts are still there but I stripped them of the photos since I decluttered my Flickr photostream. I guess I need to upload the photos again. A MUST WANT?
I need to take photos more. My cameras are just lying around, just waiting for me to use them. ;( A MUST WANT. .
I’ve got to stop reading temporarily. I think that’s another reason there’s a large gap between this post and the earlier post. I’ve read lots. I finally read the Twilight book series, and it’s nothing like the movie. I really hope there would be a next book. There’s also the Shopaholic series (which is a bit funny), and a lot of love stories by new authors like Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster, and Tammara Weber’s Easy. OK, got to stop reading temporarily. A MUST NEED.
Finish my research. This is five years overdue. FIVE YEARS! Major procrastination! I need to finish this ASAP! A MUST NEED.

I’m so happy I got to finish this post only with three hours of sleep. Hehe. Let me know what you think about the first item on my list. Are there any some kind of rule for that? ;)
