Wow how time flies. I can’t believe this issue’s almost over. This is one of my favorite pages of Flying Sparks so far, and I’m not just saying that!

I know it’s a bit of an exposition scene, but there’s a lot to it that makes it nice. I really love Jethro’s angles here that establish tension and also make the scene completely ominous.

Add Shannon’s gorgeous color choices and it’s just perfect! I can’t praise those two enough.

Story wise, it’s the first time we really see Johnny make money. I really really really want to spoil some plot here, but I’ll refrain! See you next wednesday!

Crime doesn’t pay, kids! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m giddy watching Meta-Girl really come into her own. I really love Chloe, it’s too bad I have to… >ahem< Whoops, don’t want to spoil it!

Oh yes. Last week we had our biggest single day ever! Flying Sparks crossed the 2,000 hits mark in a single day for the first time ever! Thank you soooooo much for reading! I wish I had something extra special to give you all, but all I’ve got is this page! And then I’ll continue making pages! How ’bout that?

Gorgeous page this week. Jethro really was caught up in the spirit of the action when drawing these, and Shannon did a wonderful job on the colors. I know I say similar every week, but I remain giddy with each page as this story comes to life.

If you hadn’t noticed, I love writing Chloe and Johnny on the phone. It’s for a couple of reasons:

1. It communicates how awkward it is that Chloe’s in her superhero costume and hiding it.

2. It develops their relationship, but it also shows them visually as separated, which adds a nice tension.

3. It gets quick paced dialogue as other parts of the story unfold.

So that’s why, if you were wondering. If not, you know anyway! See you next week!

I wasn’t joking on page 10 about her doing homework. You get to read about it this week

I know it’s just an aspect of storytelling pacing, but I always find it silly how the hero always happens to show up right when the villain’s doing his/her dirty deed and stops it. Sometimes, there’s waiting around to do! And besides, this book’s about the relationship anyway… stay tuned next week for what Johnny has to say!
