Where are the homicides, what are the circumstances surrounding those homicides? Who used the gun? Where did they get it? Should they have been in possession? Anyway, check out the current field of candidates for the Democratic nomination for President and think about those questions while you read about the fight Cory Booker says he's going to bring to the NRA if he becomes president.

They already have a bunch of gun control laws in place and it still didn't stop the shooter. As I'll always say, you can't stop a criminal with words on paper.

They are asking who knew what and when, a place where we in the U.S, often start after such a sad event. Here that frequently translates into how the NICS system failed and someone who shouldn't have a firearm ends up with one. Who knows what New Zealand will find out. A certainty is that New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced their laws will change, "the country will ban semiautomatic weapons, assault rifles and high-capacity magazines." For me that begs the question, "If gun crime is already rare, how does a full ban help?" Which should immediately be followed up by asking how New Zealand will go about collecting all the guns. A hearty pat on the back to anyone who guessed that they'll use their registraton rolls as a collection list. Good luck New Zealand gun owners, you're going to need it.

Symbolic of the geniuses that Second Amendment loving Americans are up against, here we have an anti-gunner threatening to shoot others (if they owned a gun). There seems to be a lot of this kind of thinking going around. Anecdotal opinion on my part, of course. But, I think their tune would change if they actually did become gun owners.

Similar to a case back in 2005 where the Supreme Court said police didn't have to protect a woman from her abusive husband (even when there was a restraining order), a Judge has found that Broward County Sheriffs had no Constitutional duty to confront the shooter at Parkland. Keep that in mind when you turn your kiddos over to a public school with a resource officer. Just one more good example of how poorly Gun Free Zones work.

Well, I got lazy. Then my laptop went hazy and I moved over to a tablet. Typing on one of those things is a pain in the hindquarters. Seriously, the only thing worse is hacking out a large amount of copy on a phone. Thank the Lord for Android and swipe keyboards in a pinch. Thankfully, I have now gone back to something with a real keyboard.

Anyway, then I figured that we were on the backside of the Obama administration and it seemed like things were going well for people who were fans of guns. I mean, outside of that administration trying its darnedest to strip us of our rights. There were a bunch of people standing on the front line making sure that we didn't give an inch.

So, I relaxed, rolled over and joined the ranks of the sleeping. But, now, I see things changing again and I feel like I need to step up. Even if only a dozen people are reading this (maybe that's wishful thinking) I need an outlet to get my gun-guy thoughts organized.

Top it all off with the fact that I don't like the idea of a known gun grabber being lined up to be Speaker of the House again. I'm picking up the cause once more and planning to start dropping info and pointing out all the ugly I see.

Start passing ridiculous laws and it could some negative political outcome, just ask some lawmakers in Colorado.

The issue came to a head in Colorado after gun-rights activists accused Democrats of ramming through the gun control legislation in the aftermath of a series of shootings which included the killing of 12 people in a suburban Denver movie theatre last year.<br>Angered by the gun control push, gun rights advocates had sought the recall to send a message to current and future legislators that the bills had gone too far with efforts to curb firearm access. Opponents viewed the recall effort as a bullying tactic and not the proper way to handle a policy dispute.

It's a bullying tactic? I'm sorry, but when it comes to politics a recall is the best non-violent way to force politicians to listen to their constituency. Funny that it turns out the people with the guns chose the polite way to get their point across. Recalls can work both ways. Unfortunately when one elects to come down on the side of gun control they have chosen a highly emotional topic and should expect fierce opposition. They should know they will face tough opposition because the fighting spirit still exists in a large portion of Americans. I foresee more of this in the next few years.
What should you do? You should just go and bomb someone else. Pakistan is always up for a little thrill. But have your mouthpiece go around saying it could all come to and end soon.

“The program will end as we have eliminated most of the threat and continue to eliminate it,” Mr. Kerry said at the time in an interview broadcast on state-run television. “I think the president has a very real timeline, and we hope it’s going to be very, very soon.”

I'm Secretary of State and I think, I think, my boss might'a could, maybe, just possibly have a timeline to stop it in Pakistan and start it here at home. Ooops, wasn't supposed to say that last part.

Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy has just released a study of the relative effects of stringent gun laws. They found that a country like Luxenbourg, which bans all guns has a murder rate that is 9 times higher than Germany, where there are 30,000 guns per 100,000 people. They also cited a study by the U.S.National Academy of Sciences, which studied 253 journal articles, 99 books, 43 government publications, and it failed to find one gun controlinitiative that worked.
