Annual Sqare Foot Show (August 6-30, 2013)

Show is open to all artists 18 and older. Canvases are 12″ x 12″ are are obtained through BAGA to ensure consistency. Artists may have 2 entries in any media that can be applied to canvas. All artwork will be priced by BAGA at $125. For more information contact BAGA at 701-223-5986.

Registraction & entry forms can be found below. Fees are $20 for 1 entry or $25 for two (2) entries. This fee covers the cost of the canvas, shipping and program printing. This fee is non-refundable. (A $20 NSF fee will be charged for all returned checks.)

Announcing 2013 Pekin Days Art Show CALL FOR ENTRIES

This juried exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older. All work must be for sale. All work, wall-hung or 3D must be safe, ready to display, framed and wired appropriately for hanging. Serrated hangers will not be accepted. Please notify us if you have a piece that needs to be displayed in an unusual fashion or if you have an unusually large piece to verify sufficient space is available. All work must be original, less than 3 years old and not previously exhibited in the Pekin Days Art Show. No more than three (3) entries may be submitted.

NDAC reserves the right to reject any entry that does not meet eligibility requirements. Entry to this show implies agreement to these conditions and those explained within the entry brochure. Entry fee is non-refundable.

Applicants wanted for 5^th Annual Artist in Residency Program

The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department (NDPRD) and the North Dakota Council on the Arts are partnering for the 5th Annual Artist in Residency program within the state parks.

The Artist in Residency program offers artists the opportunity to stay and work in these unique environments for one week where they’ll have the opportunity to draw inspiration from a park, demonstrate their skills and assist park visitors of all ages in discovering their artistic side.  The program’s goal is to continue creating works of art that showcase, document and celebrate North Dakota state parks while providing opportunities for visitors to become stewards, with a deeper appreciation of works inspired by the state parks.  It is hoped the artworks generated from this program will characterize the state’s beauty for present and future generations, giving park visitors an opportunity to see North Dakota through the eyes and ears of contributing artists.

Selected artists are invited to stay at Cross Ranch State Park Aug. 11-18, Fort Ransom State Park July 28- Aug. 4 or Lewis and Clark State Park July 21-28 as a collaborative effort to incorporate arts into the interpretive and educational activities presented by NDPRD.  The program is recruiting writers, composers, visual and performing artists to experience North Dakota’s state parks and resources, allowing them to illustrate their experiences through their talents while providing opportunities for park visitors to participate in hands-on workshops.  The program is for serious professionals who deeply care about state parks, wanting to contribute to them as well as benefit from them.

Applications are being accepted through Friday, May 31, 2013.  Applicants must be current North Dakota residents.  Participating artists are required to donate a piece of art representing their style and reflecting their residency to the park’s collection.  In addition, each artist will provide a minimum of two onsite presentations, one of them being a hands-on workshop providing park visitors an opportunity to try out the artist’s skills, methods and/or tools.  Funding is available to purchase materials for the workshops.  Artists will be provided with either a cabin or modern campsite for the duration of their residency, depending upon the state park.  A $1,200 stipend will be awarded to the selected artists upon the completion of the residency program.

How a “Style Your Sole” works:
Customers will purchase a pair of TOMS on the day of the event, have them painted by an artist (free of charge for the customer) and go home happy!

What artists need to bring:
Bring brushes, acrylic paint, sharpies; whatever you want to work with.
We also will allow the artists to showcase a few of their personal pieces.

Pay:
$17.00 an hour; Payment will be received 3 weeks after event.

FMVA Big Art Show is a wide variety of art (2D and 3D) from both emerging and established artists. Each artwork is accompanied by a statement from the artist involving their individual inspiration in creating the work and the technique involved in making it, helping the viewer to develop their own understanding of the artwork and the creative process involved. All participants need to be members of FMVA and can submit one work for the show.
