According to Wikipedia The Chairman of the Confucius Peace Prize awards committee says that the award exists to "promote world peace from an Eastern perspective", andConfucian peace specifically.^[1] The winner receives a cash prize of ¥100,000 RMB ($15,000 USD).^[2]

Everyone still remembers the Peace Nobel: Liu Xiaobo, even if we were not able to see him in person at least on TV.

1• But who is he really?

1• Liu is an imprisoned Chinese activist & also writer. He is currently serving an 11-year Prison term.

2• Liu is apparently involved in pro-democracy activities. We know that in China is a communist country. These two are quite incompatible.

3• Liu has been supporting the Charter 08. (Here what Wikipedia says about it, not that it is an all time reference: "Charter 08 is a manifesto initially signed by over 350 Chinese intellectuals and human rights activists to promote political reform and democratization in thePeople's Republic of China.^[1] It was published on 10 December 2008, the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopting name and style from the anti-Soviet Charter 77 issued by dissidents in Czechoslovakia.^[2] Since its release, more than 10,000 people inside and outside of China have signed the charter."

4• Well, Liu's name belongs to the long list of censored names by the chinese communist party over the internet. As of why we haven't heard that much about him before, it's a vast question.

The thing is, many other Chinese Dissidents have also being a great work in exposing Chinese communist party crimes. Such as Hu Jia (Just realized i haven't posted anything on this blog about him, and sure will) Gao Zhisheng, Chinese Blind Lawyer: Chen Guangcheng ... and probably many more i forgot at the moment.

Each of these Dissidents deserve a more complete and in Depth post, will make sure to do it whenever i can.

Tell China to Stop Killing its Own Citizens

"On October 4, 1988, China ratified the December 10, 1984, Convention Against Torture and other cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment. On March 2, 1992, it also ratified the November 20, 1989, International Convention on the Rights of the Child. Then In March 2004, China incorporated a provision into its constitution under which the government would respect and guarantee human rights. Despite its agreement to these measures, the situation in China is growing more and more alarming. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has left a trail of victims.

The Communist Party’s History of Violence

Since 1949, an estimated 80 million Chinese victims have died unnatural deaths because of the CCP. One of the founding principles of Communism is “class struggle”, which has resulted in a "genocide" of classes, including the rich, intellectuals, and those critical of the CCP. Here is a list of some of them.

- During Land Reforms, landowners and wealthy farmers were labeled as “reactionaries” or “bad elements” and were slaughtered.

- Reforms in industry and trade were used to eliminate the capitalist class. Chen Yi, mayor of Shanghai, is known to have asked each day: "How many parachutists did we have today?" He was referring to the many capitalists who committed suicide by throwing themselves from the tops of buildings.

- Statistics indicate that by 1950, the CCP had persecuted, including by execution, at least three million religious believers and members of clandestine groups.

- The anti-rightist movement, which first encouraged people to express themselves by promising that there would be no reprisals if they came forward, labeled 540,000 of them as "rightists." Among them 270,000 lost their jobs; 230,000 were labeled "moderate right," "anti-socialist elements," or "anti-CCP."

- Each year during the "Great Leap Forward" included such goals as "achieving a grain production of 7.5 tons per hectare," "doubling steel production," and "surpassing Britain in a decade and the United States in fifteen years." These policies led to a large national famine that cost millions of lives.

- According to even the most conservative figures, the number of unnatural deaths in China during the Cultural Revolution is estimated at 7.73 million. These unnatural deaths occurred not in episodes of rebellion but in periods of stability, as in 1968 when Mao took control of the country.

- On June 4, 1989, thousands of students, intellectuals and Chinese workers were massacred at Tiananmen Square. Their “crime” was to ask the CCP to reform. The communist regime responded to the student’s nonviolent demonstrations with military intervention using machine guns and tanks.

- On July 1999, former Communist Party leader, Jiang Zemin, mobilized the military, police, secret agents, and foreign affairs offices to carry out the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners physically;meanwhile, he had all radio stations, television stations, newspapers,and other media continuously defame and slander Falun Gong so as to incite hatred among the general public. The brutal persecution sought to destroy practitioners physically and mentally through the use of torture and forced-brainwashing; economically through the denial of employment and extortion; and socially by breaking up families via such means as detention, relocation, forced divorce, and homelessness to avoid arrest. The often severe physical abuse has resulted in countless deaths (thousands of which are documented), as well as thousands of cases of severe torture - inflicted disability.

The Chinese communist regime has joined its history with that of the Nazi regime and the Soviet regime. A wide range of groups are labeled as "dissidents" and persecuted. They include the pro-democrats, the pro-independence Taiwanese, Tibetan monks, Uighur Muslims, Christians and Buddhists, those who object when their land is confiscated, those who dare to tell the truth that the CCP wants to hide, and practitioners of Falun Gong. In arrest raids the condemned are jailed in forced labor camps, in the laogai ("re-education centers"). There the victims are submitted to a wide range of tortures, the purpose being to punish them, have them renounce their belief or practice, and submit only to the CCP.

In March 2006, the wife of a Chinese surgeon publicly revealed that hospitals throughout China have been holding prisoners – the extreme majority of whom are Falun Gong practitioners – in order to harvest their organs for profit, thus responding to the needs of patients who need a transplant. The remains of the victims, often while they are still alive, are incinerated to erase all traces of this heinous act. An independent, third-party investigation by a former Canadian member of Parliament, and a renowned human rights lawyer confirmed these allegations and reports (See: http://organharvestinvestigation.net/).

We denounce and condemn the acts of persecution launched by the Chinese Communist Party regime.

In view of the massacres perpetrated by the CCP against its own people, we can no longer support this regime. It is guilty of so many crimes. That is why we give our full support to those who have resigned from the Chinese Communist Party and encourage others to say ”no” to the CCP by resigning from the CCP and its affiliated organizations (the Communist Youth League and the Movement of Young Pioneers).

By signing our petition, you become aware of these tragic events and support the truth, so that justice can be done as soon as possible and that the true face of the CCP can be known to all."

"Based on reports from across China, different detention centers use the idea of the water dungeon in different ways. Some water dungeons submerge the Falun Gong practitioner in chest-deep, filthy water; in others, the water is too deep to stand in. Some have sharp spikes protruding on the inside of cramped cages. Usually, the water dungeons are well-hidden rooms or cells where practitioners are forced to stay for days and nights on end in total darkness. The water is most often extremely filthy, containing garbage and sewage that leaves the victim with festering skin."

SYDNEY—A Qantas employee, removed from her job after being deported from China for practising Falun Gong, was likely targeted by Chinese spies, says a representative of Falun Gong in Australia.

Mr. John Deller, spokesman for the New South Wales Falun Dafa Association, said that Falun Gong practitioner Sheridan Genrich, a Qantas flight attendant, was stopped and interrogated before she was searched during a stopover in Beijing.

“They had already targeted her, so they must have known she was a Falun Gong practitioner,” he told The Epoch Times.

Ms. Genrich, whose case is before the Fair Work Tribunal, told the hearing that she was singled out from the rest of the crew, interrogated over her beliefs and told never to come back or there would be “serious consequences”, News Limited reported.

A flight attendant with Qantas since 2001 and, according to her Counsel, “with an excellent working record”, Ms. Genrich has since been removed from long haul flights and demoted to a lower-paying job.

Her detainment and subsequent deportation would have been a direct result of Chinese agents working in Australia, said Mr. Deller.

“The Chinese Consulate, and all their agency networks in Australia, monitor people who practise Falun Dafa, so it is quite easy for them to get information on people who practise and clearly they were targeting her,” he said.

According to News Limited, legal counsel for Ms. Genrich, Shane Prince told the Tribunal that Ms. Genrich wants to be reinstated on international routes and compensated for lost wages, claiming that Qantas has unfairly discriminated against her.

Qantas is arguing that international crew must be able to travel anywhere and Ms. Genrich’s deportation now excludes her from being able to fulfill that requirement.

This is despite reports that there are exceptions, including a Taiwanese flight attendant who is exempt from flying on Qantas routes to China.

Qantas Counsel Rachel Bernasconi told the Tribunal that Ms. Genrich reportedly carried with her on the flight the book Zhuan Falun, which contains the teachings of Falun Gong, and The Epoch Times newspaper, known to be critical of the Chinese regime, News Limited reported.

Qantas asserts that Ms. Genrich should have known these were illegal in China and that it is stipulated in the Crew Manual that crew members cannot “convey” newspapers while on duty.

Ms. Genrich admitted having these in her luggage, but said the newspapers were gifts for friends who she thought would want to know what was going on outside China.

Falun Gong Not Illegal

Mr. Deller said that while it was widely known that Falun Gong and related material were banned by the Chinese Communist Party, it was incorrect to say Falun Gong and related material were illegal.

“Falun Gong is not illegal in China,” he said. “The Peoples Congress have to pass laws to make something illegal and they haven’t done that on Falun Gong.”

Mr. Deller said that within Chinese law and the Chinese constitution, people in China have the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression.

“It is actually the persecution of Falun Gong which is illegal,” he said.

Initiated in 1999 by then-leader Jiang Zemin, the persecution of Falun Gong continues under the present ruling Communist regime under an extrajudicial command structure known as the 610 office.

“This runs outside of government control, outside of the judicial system and outside all legal instruments of the Chinese government,” he said.
Australian Values Compromised

Mr. Deller said he was disappointed in Qantas for kowtowing to the Chinese Communist Party and particularly for not standing up for Australian values.

“She [Ms. Genrich] should have the right to maintain her job and live according to Australia’s principles and freedoms while visiting temporarily in a country as a Qantas employee,” he said.

Mr. Deller said Falun Gong was a traditional Chinese meditation and exercise with core beliefs of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance.

“Only in China are people persecuted for trying to be good people,” he said, adding: “In Taiwan, they have the same Chinese people, but Falun Gong is treasured as a valuable and true part of Chinese culture.”

Ms. Genrich’s case was heard by Fair Work Australia Commissioner Frank Raffaelli, who has reserved his decision on the case.
