I just returned from a week at Lakeshore where my wife led a Senior & Junior High Arts Camp. I worked during the day and played with the campers at night – quite an experience.

Going Google

Michael Calore at one of the Wired Blogs is going Google. He will be replacing all of his desktop applications with their Google counterparts for the next month.

This is something I’ve very interested in, but have no way to do, since I’m so tied to the features of Microsoft Exchange and OneNote.

Apple: America's best retailer

Fortune has written a insightful article on why Apple is America’s best retailer. I especially like this quote:

“One of the best pieces of advice Mickey ever gave us was to go rent a warehouse and build a prototype of a store, and not, you know, just design it, go build 20 of them, then discover it didn’t work,” says Jobs.

All right, I’ve given in. I like Flickr’s photo interface so much, that I’m going to try only using it from for my online photo management.

Gotta love the truth

“We were trying to make the email experience better for our users. We ended up making it better for yours, too,” stated Gmail guru Paul Buchheit at a Wall Street Journal joint interview with the guys behind the email apps at Google, Microsoft and Yahoo.

Yes, it seems that photos have been updated much more often than articles in, oh.. the last three months. So, per request, I have added an XML/RSS feed for my photos. Enjoy! Also, I’m considering adding a direct link to the location of my photos on Google Maps. Does that sound like a good idea?

Update: I was wrong! I just found out that the account name first.last@gmail.com, firstlast@gmail.com, f.irstlast@gmail.com and any combination thereof map to my gmail account.

Zen Garden: Focus on the Clouds Submission

I threw together a submission for the CSS Zen Garden web site last weekend. It’s still not quite finished – I’m looking for a better way to display the resources, however, I’m temporarily stuck. Hopefully a good idea will pop into my head by this weekend.
