Start with your little balls. Are you dropping the balls in all kinds of little ways? Finish your emails, pay all your bills. Important habits like follow-through are built one choice at a time.
Don't make it optional. When you have no option, it just gets done.

I also just recently finished reading "Drive" by Daniel Pink.

In the back of the book there was a particular exercise that was simple, yet thought provoking.

People break New Year's Resolutions all the time, right?

This year instead of making a list of "to-do's", make a list of things you are resolute not to do.

Below are mine:

I won't skip a workout when it's on my calendar to exercise.
I'm not going to let messes pile-up.
I'm not going to take my loved ones for granted.
I'm not going to take a salary that's less than I deserve.
When selling, I'm not going to take "no" for an answer.
I won't forget the good times.
I'm not going to let the details of an activity (like hosting a dinner party), weigh down my ability to enjoy that activity.
I won't stop trying new things.
I'm not going to spend all my money away.
I will never forget to be thankful.
I will stop measuring my success by the success of others.
I'm not going to be a no-show once I commit to attending something.
I won't break my resolutions. :)

My Happiness Project: Week 1

What Did I learn this week?

You can't fit 1 year of projects into 1 week.
Don't try to start a new project the week of Christmas, (or any other holiday).
Spending 20% of my work time on an unassigned task + pursuing a passion as if it were a priority put a lot of happiness into my week.

And so, I am going to forge on & try to do my own happiness project for a whole year, because this week was worth it. You can see my progress below!
