2. Swami Ramdev is a self-proclaimed sanyasi: Sanyasis and swamis do not have to get a certificate for Congress to be called a sanyasi. They have the respect and support of the people and followers.
3. Satyagrahis do not escape in the manner Baba Ramdev did: Neither were the sleeping, hungry, peaceful demonstrators attacked in the manner they were.
4. There are communal forces behind all this: Congress(I) is the largest and most communal party in independent secular India. The so called secular parties have extended sympathy and support to anti-national elements like terrorists.
5. The so called satyagrahis haven’t seen the days of satyagraha. They have not fought for an independent India like we did: The so called Congress(I) wasn’t a part of the independence either. Congress(I) is the Indira Gandhi’s faction of the Indian national Congress which lost it’s existence, power and public appeal in the post-independence India. mahatma Gandhi — the father of the nation — quit the congress due to ideological differences which arose in the party. Shortly after India achieved independence, Gandhi even appealed that Congress be dissolved.
6. Ramdev is practicing Ayurveda without any academic degree: Ayurveda is a vedic science. These certificates only started getting issued after Ayurveda was inducted as a medical science in India.

Why does Baba Ramdev own such huge wealth?

Baba Ramdeve doesn’t own any wealth. All the so called wealth is on the names of the trusts run by his supporters.

Does Baba have unaccounted wealth?

There’s regular audit conducted on all this income. During an audit, all the wealth, income, sources of income have to be accounted for and per the Indian law. All such papers of audits are available with the respective trusts and with the Income Tax department.

Why does the satyagraha need so much donation?

A satyagraha moved by the people of India in number of lakhs and crores requires organisation and arrangement. The venue was only equipped with the bare necessary facilities required to conduct such a peaceful demonstration.

Should he as a sanyasi lead a cause like this?

What stops him? History has been witness to the efforts of Swami Dayanand, Vivekanand and even (Mathma) Gandhi.

What’s the logic behind banning the currency bills of 100, 500 and 1000 rupees?

Most of the unaccounted money exchanges hands in hard cash. Limiting the larger currency bills will be an effective barrier to such monetary exchange. It will then have to be done with cheques, etc. which will bring them on record and audits.

Is it right to trust him?

Why not. The nation has been trusting the netas for so long. Why not a godman for once?

Is satyagraha the right way to protest? Or is one even needed?

What else is? It is absolutely a a very democratic and peaceful way to register protest. Such was the path taken by Mahatma Gandhi.

These are the only lawful ways to protest when the ruling government does not pay attention to public and national issues.

Does he need to join politics? Does he need to abandon yoga to join politics?

Why? Can he as an Indian civil citizen not raise issues of national interest?

Why does he not raise issues like education, etc.?

They are both fighting for a national cause and they both have the support of the Indian public.

It’s surprising yet only natural for mud-slingers to join the scene when someone stands for a good cause. Opportunist media wants to create headlines with CNN IBN calling a donation drive an “expose”. Eventually it’s an attempt to shift focus onto Baba Ramdev’s wealth instead of focusing on the anti-corruption satyagraha drive. Also questioned are his motives — whether he has any political or otherwise material interests. Calling it a “5 Star” satyagraha which requires lakhs of donations to be sustained to a saffron brigade’s political motives, the media and social media hasn’t spared a word.
