It’s back to school time and that means it’s time to start thinking about packing healthy school lunches for my kids. Like many moms, I am always looking for new ideas for my kid’s lunches but I dread going to the grocery store. As a farm mom, I am fortunate to have an insider’s view of how food is produced to help guide me through the maze of food labels.

The back-to-school season not only means it’s time for packing lunches and after school snacks but it’s also a time to know more about the food you’re putting in those lunch bags. Food issues like organic, cage free, grass fed, and antibiotic free have received a lot of attention lately, and parents want to know what they mean, and how they impact their families’ health.
