One exception in the banking sector was top American lender JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), whose stock climbed nearly 4% higher on management's apparent expansion plans. That was more than good enough to beat the S&P 500 index's 0.6% slump.

That morning, the Financial Times published an article stating that JPMorgan has set an ambitious goal for its digital bank to be operational in at least three new European markets within the coming half-decade.

How High Could Robinhood Stock Go in the Next Bull Market?

The online brokerage still has plenty of upside potential.

Robinhood's (NASDAQ: HOOD) stock closed at a record high of $152.46 per share on Oct. 9, 2025. It had more than quadrupled from its IPO price of $38 in July 2021. The ongoing bull market, which began in 2022, was attracting new users and boosting its revenues.

But as of this writing, Robinhood's stock trades at about $97. While we're still firmly in a bull market, concerns about inflation, the Middle East conflict, and potential interest rate hikes are all driving investors toward more conservative investments. That lower trading volume will likely discourage active trading and throttle Robinhood's growth. The S&P 500 also looks expensive at nearly 30 times earnings -- so the next bear market could be right around the corner.

Nvidia vs. Alphabet: Which Is the Better AI Chip Stock to Own for the Next 5 Years?

Both Nvidia and Alphabet have big chip opportunities ahead.

Artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure spending is booming, and two of the companies with leading chips in this field are Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) with its graphics processing units (GPUs) and Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) with its Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). An AI token is the unit of data that AI models process during the training and inference phases.

Not surprisingly, the massive jump in AI token consumption will create a need for more AI infrastructure. Oracle is filling this gap by aggressively adding new data center capacity. Instead of a big nuclear power plant -- with iconic bell-shaped cooling towers and domed reactors -- it wants to deploy small modular reactors (SMRs), essentially mini nuclear power plants.

NuScale shares the dream of deploying SMRs with other nuclear energy companies, like Oklo and Nano Nuclear Energy. Unlike these two, however, NuScale has an SMR design approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), a major first-mover advantage in the highly regulated nuclear power space.

NRC approval is the most commonly cited reason to buy NuScale over other novel nuclear energy stocks. And he was a busy man during the first quarter. Citadel Advisors decreased its stake in some popular artificial intelligence (AI) stocks. The firm sold 2.9 million shares of Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), while offloading six million shares of Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN).

Both tech leaders remain among Citadel Advisors' largest holdings, but perhaps the decision to reduce its stake in these companies was to reallocate capital into attractive opportunities. However, if you missed the IPO, I wouldn't be chasing the stock, as I think there are better companies to buy pursuing similar objectives.

SpaceX, as it is better known, operates three primary businesses. The first is its reusable rocket business, but this isn't why the company closed its first day of trading with a $2.1 trillion market cap. Both are unprofitable. Both are spending money at a rate that would terrify CFOs at any other company on earth. And yet the race between Anthropic and OpenAI to go public sets up one of the most consequential investment decisions individual investors will face in the next 12 months, because despite their similarities, the two companies are not the same bet.

Here's why: Anthropic filed its S-1 confidentially on June 1 following a $65 billion Series H round that valued the company at $965 billion. This briefly made it the most valuable start-up in the world, ahead of OpenAI. Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate hit $47 billion in May, up from $4 billion just 14 months earlier. The company has entered the law enforcement drone and robotics market, which it estimates is a $20 billion opportunity. As the IPO approached, press reports said the IPO was largely oversubscribed, with demand exceeding the number of shares available, so it's clear that investors were eager to get in on this technology and industrial powerhouse. And after its market debut, the stock rocketed higher, delivering a 19% gain.

This early performance and the fact that many investors who wanted to participate in the IPO couldn't suggest that buying may continue through the first few trading days, lifting the shares. SpaceX offers a fascinating portfolio of growth businesses: rocket launches, artificial intelligence (AI), and satellite-based internet services. And they are complementary, with advances in one helping boost the others. Investors seeking the next big growth story clearly are watching SpaceX closely.

But, before you decide on whether to buy the shares, particularly at today's lofty valuation, it's crucial to consider the 20 most important words in the company's prospectus.

This Storage Stock Is Now Up More Than 700% in a Year, and the AI Boom Could Push It Even Higher.

The hard-drive specialist's supply and pricing visibility make the stock worth watching despite a huge run.

Shares of Seagate Technology (NASDAQ: STX) have become one of the more surprising artificial intelligence (AI) winners in the market. Hard drives are not as glamorous as graphics processing units (GPUs) or cloud software. But data centers still need a place to store the flood of data created by AI applications, and investors have started treating Seagate as a front-line beneficiary of that build-out.

The move has been extraordinary. The storage stock is more than 700% over the past year as of this writing, and it jumped about 9% on Monday alone and is up sharply on Tuesday morning, too. Even after a run like that, could shares keep rising? If AI-driven demand keeps outstripping supply and Seagate continues to expand margins, the stock could still have room to run.

Here's a closer look at the business behind the move.

Why Hyperliquid Jumped Another 11.6% on Tuesday

Hyperliquid is now the ninth-largest cryptocurrency. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter.

The all-stock acquisition of the Cursor parent, Anysphere, was expected -- in SpaceX’s prospectus, it disclosed that it entered into a partnership with Cursor in April that included an option to purchase the coding company.

Goldman Sachs Says That This Is the Next Big AI Infrastructure Megatrend With a 9X Growth Potential. 3 Stocks You Can Buy to Capitalize on This $154 Billion Opportunity

Optical networking is becoming the next bottleneck in the AI infrastructure space, and that's great news for these three companies.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has created a terrific demand for several hardware components used in data centers to help train AI models and run inference applications. The demand for some of these components, such as memory chips, has exceeded supply, thereby creating a significant shortage that's expected to last for years.

In fact, memory chips are expected to remain in short supply until the end of the decade. That's because memory solves an important bottleneck in the AI infrastructure ecosystem, enabling the rapid transport of massive amounts of data that allows accelerator chips to unlock their full potential.

However, the need to quickly transmit large datasets is also driving significant demand for optical networking components. Goldman Sachs sees optical networking as the next megatrend in the AI infrastructure space. The investment bank estimates that the total addressable market (TAM) of optical networking components could jump by a whopping 9x to $154 billion in just two years.

3 of the Best Growth Stocks to Buy for Less Than $100 Today

These stocks are down this year, but they could have tremendous upside in the long run.

Buying good growth stocks at reasonable prices can help set you up for some tremendous gains later on. It can be a great idea to invest in many of them, since it's not always obvious which stock may surge in value. Nvidia, for example, was a top tech company a decade ago, but its recent surge, driven by growth opportunities in artificial intelligence, came virtually out of nowhere.

Investing in many types of stocks gives you more shots on target and more opportunities to generate strong returns. Three growth stocks that I think may be among the best ones that you can buy for less than $100 right now are Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX), Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD), and Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER). That matters, because most investors are also consumers who pay for things like food, gasoline, and electricity. Officially, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that May's prices for everything consumers spend money on were up an average of 4.2% year over year, rising at a pace not seen since May 2023, when price increases were slowing. Now, these rising costs could accelerate.

It's not necessarily all bad, though. Assuming nothing changes in the meantime, anyone receiving Social Security benefits payments now or in the near future should see a nice-sized increase in next year's payments.

The Social Security Administration implements the annual cost-of-living adjustments -- or COLAs -- for its benefit payments, but it doesn't set them. By law, these yearly increases are based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics' measure of the nation's inflation...the same inflation data that just soared.

Is Silicon Motion Technology a Buy After Dropping More Than 20% From Its High?

Investors are scooping up a 20% drop in Silicon Motion Technology before more people recognize the opportunity.

Silicon Motion Technology (NASDAQ: SIMO) recently shed more than 20% of its value from all-time highs, but the dip looks like a buying opportunity. After all, it'll be the first monthly meeting of the Federal Reserve's (Fed) Open Market Committee (FOMC) presided over by new Fed chair Kevin Warsh.

All FOMC meetings matter, particularly to investors, but this one will be especially crucial. Here's why.

Warsh's first FOMC meeting is his opportunity to set the tone of his leadership. Wise investors will parse his remarks for indications of whether he'll tend to be hawkish on inflation -- meaning he favors interest rate hikes to cool or mitigate it -- or be more of a dove, inclined to let the economy take its course.
