SEO

This is the first article in an eight-part series about how to optimize a page/post in search engine page rankings (SERP). This eight-part series will include these articles in the following order: Page Title, Meta Descriptions, Meta Keywords, Body Text, H1 Headings, Bold Text, Anchor Texts, and Img Alt Texts.

Granted, there are many more elements to optimizing a page/post for SERP. However, if you follow the recommendations in these eight articles, you will be able to watch your page/post continue to rise in search engine rankings over time.

Page Titles

A page title is probably the most important element of your page/post. If you do nothing other than to optimize your page title, you will have an advantage to the competition and will watch as your page improves in rank over time.

Tips on Page Title Optimization

Calculate the Ideal Number of Words for the Page Title – Most page titles are typically four to nine words and 30 to 70 characters in length (this includes spaces). To find the ideal number of words to put into the page title, simply “Google” the key word or phrase that you want to target. You should get ten listings on the Google results page. Simply count up all the words in the page titles of those listings and divide by the number of listings you counted the words in. The number of words you get for your page title should be between five to seven words.

Make Sure the Page Title is Relevant to the Content of the Page – The page title should represent the content of that page and accurately describe the information presented on that page.

DON’T USE ALL CAPS IN THE PAGE TITLE – Using all caps in the page title is annoying and statistically proven difficult to read for many people as well.

The Page Title Should Not Be Duplicated – You want to develop the page title to target the primary keyword or phrase for that page. When all the page titles are the same, usually the home page will rank and leave all other pages/posts invisible to the search engines.

Add A Descriptive Modifier Before the Keyword or Phrase – By adding a descriptive modifier before the keyword or phrase in the page title it becomes less likely to get filtered out of search results and will also help you rank well for additional terms.

Great Page Titles Evoke An Emotional Response – Try to compose page titles that make people curious and want to click on them. This is especially true if you are a blog creating linkbait.

Don’t Repeat Keywords or Phrases Back-to-Back – Using keyword or keyword phrases back-to-back will cause the keyword or phrase to have to high of a density which will lower your SERP.

In conclusion, the page title is one of the most important elements to getting a good SERP ranking for the page/post you are trying to promote. It is the very first bit of information about your page/post so make sure it leaves a clicking impression!

I am absolutely convinced that I have the best part-time business in the world. I am going to discuss why I believe this and how you can have the same part-time business too. How would you like to have a part-time business where you can borrow as much money as you want and whenever you want? How would you like to have a part-time business where paperwork is almost non-existent? How would you like to have a part-time business that you could run from anywhere in the world that is fun and exciting? Not only is my part-time business fun and exciting, but I don’t have to deal with staff or payroll, I don’t have to pay rent for an office with the associated expenses, and I don’t have to stockpile inventory to sell. In fact, I never do any selling at all! I have mentioned some of the advantages of my part-time business and to be fair I should also mention some of the disadvantages. For me, there are no disadvantages. However, for many of you, the situation may be different. Many of you who are looking for the perfect part-time business are worried that it will cost too much money to start, take too much of your valuable time, involve too much risk, and that you will not know how to get started and become successful. These four main reasons, to include many more, could be a disadvantage to you in getting the best part-time business in the world. What then is my perfect part-time business? I trade the Forex and help others to benefit from trading the Forex as well. If you are unfamiliar with the Forex, I will tell you about it and seven reasons why you should get involved in trading it too:

The Forex is the most liquid and transparent market in the world. It trades over 3 trillion dollars each day and is growing rapidly. It can absorb huge transaction volumes without affecting the price of the currency to any great degree. In other words, in cannot be manipulated like stocks, bonds, or futures markets.

The Forex market has continued negotiation which means traders and investors can trade 24 hours a day 5 days a week. There is no schedule for opening or closing the market during the week as there is in other financial markets. This gives all investors the same opportunity to take advantage of market conditions.

The Forex market is a market without forced deadlines. Participants in other financial markets are constrained by having to adhere to a particular time-frame. However, in the Forex market, a position can remain open as long as the investor or trader deems it necessary.

The Forex market has no implementation costs. Historically, the Forex has not received commissions for services except for a natural difference between the buying and selling of a contract which is known as the spread rate.

The Forex has very identifiable trends for the major currencies. The fact that each individual currency offers a historical pattern of a well-defined trend facilitates the establishment of strategies for profitable forecasting and trading.

The Forex market is a market of dual direction. That is to say, traders and investors can earn money whether the market rises or falls.

The Forex is a leveraged market. By being a leveraged market, the Forex allows participants to control much larger amounts of capital with just a small investment. The leverage offered is usually anywhere from 2:1 all the way up to 100:1; not that you should always use that high of leverage.

If you would like to get a better return on a portion of your investment capital – with minimal risk – then consider getting involved with this perfect part-time business of trading the Forex market with Forex Signals Guide.

What is a Gravatar?

As you read blog comments, I’m sure you’ve noticed various custom images identifying the commentator. These images are custom logos that usually says something about the author’s personality… these are Gravatars. More simply put, a Gravatar is a globally recognized Avatar which is just an 80×80 pixel image.

5 Reasons You Need A Gravatar!

There are a number of reasons why you need a Gravatar but I will list only five. Those reasons are as follows:

Gravatar’s Improve Brand Recognition – The more comments you leave on blogs the more attention you draw to your logo. This will get traffic to your website.

Gravatar’s Help Sell Your Product – Using a picture of your product as your Gravatar will build your product’s awareness. Design your Gravatar to make it appealing and then leave your comments on relevant posts. This will help to increase your income for that product.

Gravatar’s Lead To More Traffic – Using a humorous or interesting Gravatar can cause people to become curious about you or your website. It increases the chance of them clicking on your link to find out more about you.

Gravatar’s Can Make You Famous – To get noticed, use your best portrait pic and then comment to as many blogs as you can. Based on my experience, people do click on links in comments with good looking Gravatar’s.

Gravatar’s Let You Express Yourself – Using a pet’s picture or an object of interest to you tells the world something of what you are about. If you decide to use an organizational symbol, make sure to review Gravatar’s “Terms of Use.”

How To Create a Gravatar

Before you sign up for a Gravatar account you will need a pic of yourself (or whatever image you want to use – 80×80 pixels) and a valid Email account.

Signing up and creating a Gravatar is FREE simple and easy. To learn how, simply read and follow the instruction set below:

Step 1: Go to Gravatar.com and click on the “Get your Gravatar today >>” button.

Step 2: On the next page, enter your Email address and click on the “Signup” button. At that point you will have to wait for a confirmation email with a link that will activate your account and allow you to setup your password.

Step 3: The next step to take is to upload your picture and set up your Gravatar. Since you do not have a Gravatar yet, you will have to add a new one. You can upload an image from your computer or from anywhere on the Internet. Remember, if you are not using a personal pic, choose something that will identify your brand.

Step 4: After you have decided on the image you want to be associated with, you need to crop that image and set a rating for it.

Step 5: The final step is to associate your new Gravatar with your Email address. You can associate this pic, or any other image, with as many Emails as you care to.

Congratulations! You have just created another tool to brand you or your product online…

After reading this article do you plan to get a Gravatar if you don’t already have one?

So do you have your Gravatar yet?

If you do, make a comment so that we can see it!

I wrote the following article about the dollar and published it to EzineArticles on August 7, 2009. The Euro was riding high at the time and everyone was bearish on the dollar. Fortunately, I shorted the Euro right around that time frame and made a boat load of money. However, as of this date, I believe the dollar is starting to weaken and it is time to reverse positions. The article as written follows:

The whole market is currently shorting the dollar right now but I think that could be a big mistake. I know this is a completely contrarian view and that the outlook for the dollar is not good. However, I have 5 good questions and 5 good answers as to why I think the dollar is headed for a reversal and that this is the perfect time to go long the dollar.

1. What good is a strong Euro?

I believe a strong Euro will do more damage to Europe than a weak dollar will hurt the U.S. Recently, our weak greenback has been beneficial in two different ways. First by boosting exports and discouraging imports which provides a shot in the arm for our weak economy; not good for the Euro. Second, it helps shrink our trade deposit in goods and services which in turn slows the endless flow of dollars abroad; not good for the Euro.

2. Is there a currency that can replace the dollar as the world’s reserve currency?

To this I have to say… into what? Recently China suggested it would diversify away from the dollar to a likely candidate the Euro. However, the Euro doesn’t have enough liquidity to handle the demand. It is still an experimental currency that not one government can invest in with total faith. Also, with more than two-thirds of foreign reserves in dollars, it would most likely take a decade to replace the dollar as the world’s reserve currency.

3. Is there anyone a weak dollar helps in the long run?

Even though many countries somewhat dislike Americans, they dislike a really weak dollar even more. Why? A weak dollar makes U.S. exports attractive and forces foreigners to patronize that which they despise. Their manufacturing industries suffer and their unemployment rises. So don’t expect foreign governments to fight a modestly stronger dollar or even encourage it when the reversal begins.

4. What about the stock market?

The stock market loves a strong dollar because a weak dollar is NOT beneficial to the stock market. Historically, the average return of the S&P 500 – during times when the dollar was strong – was a gain of 86.6% which is over five times the average return of 16.4% when the dollar was weak.

5. When is the best time to reverse positions in a market?

The best time to take a contrarian position in a market is when the most unlikely and unsophisticated are speculating. Give me a break… when corner store owners and housewives start trying to earn extra income by speculating in Forex, something they know nothing about, we’re near a bottom. The smart money knows that and now you do too. Yes, the dollar will get strong again; at least moderately. In the near term there will probably be more pressure to the downside. However, a turn is coming and when it does the change will come swiftly!

What is your feeling of where the dollar is headed?
