With 10 days to go until the 2012 NFL Draft, Kevin Hanson has updated his three-round mock draft.

Here are his picks for the Dolphins:

1 (8). Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M: After converting to receiver (from quarterback) when he arrived at A&M, Tannehill led the team in receiving in his first two seasons. He became the team's starting quarterback in the middle of his junior season, however, and has the size (6-4, 220 pounds), athleticism, smarts, intangibles and arm strength that teams desire in quarterbacks despite lacking the experience. Since the 'Fins whiffed on signing Peyton Manning (or Matt Flynn) this offseason, it makes sense for them to reunite Tannehill with his former college coach Mike Sherman, who is now the Dolphins offensive coordinator.

2 (42). Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers: After trading away Brandon Marshall to the Bears for a pair of third-round picks, the Dolphins starting receivers are Brian Hartline and Davone Bess. Aside from 'Phins fans, who else does that duo scare? Sanu might not have elite athleticism, but he has good size and was highly productive (115-1,206-7 last year) at Rutgers.

3 (72). Jared Crick, DE/DT, Nebraska: Although he played defensive tackle for the 'Huskers, Crick may be best suited to be a 3-4 end and has good athleticism and a high motor.

3 (73). James Brown, OT, Troy: Clearly, the Dolphins need to upgrade themselves at right tackle and Brown helps them do just that.

Thoughts?
Statistics: Posted by edsfootball — Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:01 pm

Over the past four weeks, no running back has rushed for more yards than Miami's Reggie Bush (519). This week, Bush and I will be tied with zero yards.

Per Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, Bush has been ruled out for Week 17 vs. the Jets.

For the season, Bush will finish with a career-high 1,086 rushing yards, a 5.0 YPC average and six rushing touchdowns in addition to 43 receptions for 296 yards and a touchdown.

With Bush out, that means that the featured back role for the week will belong to rookie Daniel Thomas, the team's second-round pick out of Kansas State.

Thomas, who missed the games in Week 1, 4 and 8, had 41 carries for 202 yards in Weeks 2 and 3. He also caught four passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in those two games.

Since then, however, Thomas has 112 carries for 351 yards (3.13 yards per carry) and six receptions for 23 yards and no touchdowns.

In their first matchup against the Jets, Thomas had 15 carries and gained 47 yards. Bush had 10 carries for 71 yards in that game.

Perhaps Thomas will get his first rushing touchdown of the season. The Jets have allowed five rushing touchdowns in the past two weeks: LeSean McCoy (three) and Ahmad Bradshaw (two).
Statistics: Posted by edsfootball — Fri Dec 30, 2011 4:08 pm

Going into today's game, no running back rushed for more yards during the previous three weeks than Miami's Reggie Bush (406).

In fact, only three others had at least 300 rushing yards during that span: Baltimore's Ray Rice (364), San Diego's Ryan Mathews (316) and Seattle's Marshawn Lynch (305).

With 22 more carries and 113 yards, Bush extended his streak of 100-yard games to four. He also finished with two receptions for 26 yards.

In his past four games, Bush has 83 carries for 519 yards and two touchdowns plus eight receptions for 59 yards.

Next week, the Dolphins host the Jets, who will be fighting for the playoff lives.
Statistics: Posted by edsfootball — Sat Dec 24, 2011 9:58 pm

Over the past three weeks, Dolphins running back Reggie Bush has had three fantasy-friendly matchups -- and he has surely taken advantage of them.

For a third straight game, Bush has rushed for 100-plus yards. The difference today was he doubled up.

Bush rushed for a career-high 203 yards and a touchdown in today's 30-23 win over the Bills. Bush now has five 100-yard games in his career, four of which have occurred this season, and is only 27 yards from his first-ever 1,000-yard rushing season.

Since Week 8, Bush has 134 carries for 741 yards (5.53 yards per carry) and six touchdowns plus 24 receptions for 173 yards.

Next week, Bush faces the Patriots.
Statistics: Posted by edsfootball — Sun Dec 18, 2011 7:00 pm
