On the list of pluses and minuses, there is one obvious minus when it comes to the fantasy outlook of Redskins running back Roy Helu going into the 2012 season.

Of course, that "minus" can be stated with two words: Mike Shanahan.

According to Tim Hightower himself, the Redskins have added competition to the backfield mix as Hightower tweeted that he's "baaaaaaaack" with the 'Skins.

While Helu is still the preferred option in Washington, there is never any telling what Shanahan will do when it comes to touches for his running backs. As I wrote in my recently updated fantasy rankings, "the drawback of owning Helu is that you're at the mercy of coach Mike Shanahan's whims."

Helu was my 19th-ranked running back and Evan Royster was my 48th-ranked running back.

With 10 days to go until the 2012 NFL Draft, Kevin Hanson has updated his three-round mock draft.

Here are his picks for the Redskins:

1 (2). Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor: Of course, any franchise that gives up two additional first-round picks and a second-rounder in order to move up a few spots has their sights set on drafting a potential franchise quarterback. Griffin, this year's Heisman Trophy winner, has all the tools -- intelligence, rare athleticism for the position, strong arm and accuracy -- to develop into a franchise-changing quarterback.

3 (69). Chris Givens, WR, Wake Forest: The 'Skins added Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan in free agency and have Santana Moss and Leonard Hankerson. In other words, they still lack an elite receiver for their new franchise quarterback. While not elite, Givens is the best receiver still on the board.

Washington Redskins Forum • 'Skins sign Pierre Garcon to 5-year deal

Over the weekend, the Redskins traded three first-round picks and a second-round pick to move up to the No. 2 spot in this year's draft in order to select Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Now they are adding some receivers via free agency to catch (or drop) RG3's passes.

As he announced via his Facebook page, Pierre Garcon was the first to sign with the Redskins.

Garcon wrote, "I wanted you all to hear it from me 1st before u saw it on the news... I will be signing with the Washington Redskins and I'm very excited about the opportunity in front of me."

It is a five-year deal worth $42.5 million, with $21.5 million guaranteed, per Alex Marvez.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Redskins are on the verge of signing free-agent receiver Josh Morgan as well.

Last year, Garcon set career highs in receptions (70) and yards (947) and tied his career high in touchdowns (six). However, his performance was inconsistent: three games with 125-plus receiving yards and two touchdowns each and nine games with less than 50 yards.

Washington Redskins Forum • Fred Davis and Trent Williams suspended four games

Per SI's Jim Trotter, Redskins tight end Fred Davis and offensive tackle Trent Williams will be suspended for four games.

Davis is active for today's game, but he'll miss the remainder of the season, according to Trotter's report.

Entering today's game, Davis had 53 receptions for 697 yards and three touchdowns, all of which are team highs.
