This expresses my agreement about the McDrive, being the best solution ever to hit reading and writing Windows HFS+ partitions. I just don’t understand the pricey amount.

Worked perfect up until the burning… “Not Enough Free Space” Mac OS X Leopard will not fit on a blank DVD.

thank you guys!!! This worked like magic :)

So I used chalala’s wincrisis to make a bootable usb and then performed fosk’s procedure with the keys and such.

A couple of beeps.. silence…beeps.. andd tadaahhhhh the screen showed up .

I love yaa guys

To make it easier, install the program Quick Silver (http://www.blacktree.com/) you can set up a keyboard shortcut and assign it to any script (if you saved it as a script and not an app).

For example I made the shortcut “Command + Right Arrow” and assigned the above script to it. Now whenever I am in a folder I can just press “Command + Right Arrow” (without the plus sign) and a new folder opens that is the same directory/location as the other.

How do I make a backup of the OS disc on a Windows PC?

I was given a G4 PPC, still had 10.3.1 on it. I have gotten an 10.5.4 upgrade disc (worked like a champ) and now would like to make a copy of it.

Unfortunatley the computer only has a DVD reader not a burner in it.

Any suggestions

Yes, its one of the options to create copy of Mac OS X. Another way is to create clone of boot volume of Mac drive.

Using a Mac cloning application like Stellar drive clone , CCc etc , Mac OS X can be copied

thank you Chalala,
after many trials i found out i need a usb flash drive no bigger than 2gb, then i used chalala’s program. i have windows 7 and had to right click WINCRIS.exe and change compatability to windows xp sp3 and then the program would open no problem after plugging in usb drive. after program finished creating drive, helf FN+B then plugged in power and turned on and it kept beeping away until booted right up normally! thank you again chanala i spent hours trying to fix this and even use windows dd service which did not help at all.

the process worked for me only when i formatted the USB stick to FAT32 in windows then applied the dd commands in linux. A 4Gig cruzer USB stick did not work but a smaller Kingston data traveler did the trick. If you are getting the 1 long beep + 2 short then that isn’t going to work. the beeps should last <2 mins like fosk says and it's a bunch of short beeps.

I also had no issues w/ the A05.DD file. for me it was finding a USB stick that worked.

I followed these steps and only one of the three mac mini’s i installed bootcamp 4.0 on had the “Apple USB Audio Device” driver installed under sound controllers in windows management. That was the only one that had working audio. Any ideas?
