Police Investigating Fatal Shooting in Swatara Township

At around 1 a.m. this morning Lower Swatara Township Police were called to the scene of a fatal shooting. The incident happened on Swatara Park Road along the Swatara Creek. Two men were found shot at the scene, one was pronounced dead and the other was taken to Hershey Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The Storm Prediction Center has Central PA in the Slight Risk category for severe thunderstorms tomorrow. Threats are frequent cloud to ground lightning, damaging wind gusts, large hail, and a few isolated tornadoes are possible. Heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches (especially in areas that receive thunderstorms) may be a factor, which could lead to some minor flodding in low lying flood-prone areas. To be safe, stay indoors on the lowest level of your home, and away from windows.

It was the latest development from a scheduled hearing in Centre County. That hearing began at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.

Police investigate an early evening shooting in York City. Officers responded to a report of shots fired shortly after 6 o'clock in the area of the 600 block of Front street. Almost immediately another report came in about a gunshot victim in the area of North and George streets.

Helicopter Goes Down in Lancaster County

Emergency crews are at the scene of a helicopter crash in Lancaster County. It happened just after 8 o'clock Wednesday. County Control says the chopper went down at the Smoketown airport. The pilot of the aircraft escaped with minor facial injuries.

As the summer tourism season kicks off in Gettysburg, a black bear has switched some of the focus from history to nature. Over the Memorial Day weekend, a bear was spotted in the southern region of the Gettysburg National Military Park. It walked across the field, into a forest, and crossed a creek. Those visiting the park on Wednesday told FOX43 they were at ease. In fact some of them said they hoped the bear would return.

A Rochester, New York woman is robbed at gunpoint at a suburban Harrisburg hotel. It happened at around 9:30 Tuesday night at the Holiday Inn Express in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County.
