John is a hardworking woodcutter. He worked for a company for five years, but has not been promoted. His new colleague Bill was enhanced though he moved into the company just one year. This caused John’s strong dissatisfaction, so he went to ask the boss for a reason. The boss said: “The amount you are logging now is as much as five years ago. If you increase the logging quantity, we will be happy to promote you.” After hearing this, John worked harder, and spent more time to work, but he still can’t cut down more trees.

John deeply confused. he found Bill and modestly asked him how to cut down more trees. Bill said: “I will rest for two minutes after every tree be cut down, and sharp my axe. When is the last time you grind your axe?” This problem like a bullet hit John’s vital part. He got the answer he wanted.

The frog, swimming footloose and fancy-free in the increasingly heated water, seems safe, but in reality perilous. Under the influence of a strong inertia inherent in human nature, are you and me changed into the frog? The society is developing rapidly. What we have studied may have been not keep up with the pace of the Times. Life need to keep learning, to learn and to learn!

Let us ask ourselves: when is the last time you grind the axe? The past glory and education doesn’t work, we must continue to grind the axe. Remember the old saying: diligence is like spring seedlings, not seen growing, but grow up every day! Indolence is like whetstone, and not seen wasting, but drop off every day!

1. smiling makes us attractive

We are drawn to people who smile. There is an attraction factor. We want to know a smiling person and figure out what is so good. Frowns, scowls and grimaces all push people away —— but a smile draws them in.

2. smiling changes our mood

Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a smile. There’s a good chance you mood will change for the better. Smiling can trick the body into helping you change your mood.

3. smiling is contagious

When someone is smiling they lighten up the room, change the moods of others, and make things happier. A smiling person brings happiness with them. Smile lots and you will draw people to you.

4. smiling relieves stress

Stress can really show up in our faces. Smiling helps to prevent us from looking tired, worn down, and overwhelmed. When you are stressed, take time to put on a smile. The stress should be reduced and you’ll be better able to take action.

5. smiling boosts your immune system

Smiling helps the immune system to work better. When you smile, immune function improves possibly because you are more relaxed. Prevent the flu and colds by smiling.

6. smiling lowers your blood pressure

When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. Give it a try if you have a blood pressure monitor at home. Sit for a few minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute and take another reading while still smiling. Do you notice a difference?

7. smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers and serotonin

Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug.

8. smiling lifts the face and makes you look younger

The muscles we use to smile lift the face, making a person appear younger. Don’t go for a face lift, just try smiling your way through the day —— you’ll look younger and feel better.

9. smiling makes you seem successful

Smiling people appear more confident, are more likely to be promoted, and more likely to be approached. Put on a smile at meetings and appointments and people will react to you differently.

10. smiling helps you stay positive

Try this test: Smile. Now try to think of something negative without losing the smile. It’s hard. When we smile our body is sending the rest of us a message that “Life is Good!” Stay away from depression, stress and worry by smiling.

There are many advantages and disadvantages to offering employees job security for life.

The advantage for the employee is that, job security is the base on which he plans his future accordingly. For the employer, the employee represents an investment because of the number of hours of training required and the company will continue to have a return on this investment. As we all know, feeling secure about where our future income will come from is very important for our well-being.

Its disadvantage lies in the tendency to decreased productivity. In general, employees who are certain that they can never lose their jobs tend to work less efficiently, thereby contributing to an overall reduction of productivity in the company. For instance, it is common to walk into a government office and see employees filing their nails, making personal calls on the telephone, taking three hour lunches, or surfing the Internet for fun.

In short, I disagree that companies should offer their employees jobs for life. It is an outmoded way of conducting business.

Let’s begin with a little story. An old woman has two capable sons. The first son sells rain gear, the second sells cement. Their business is brisk very much. They are obedient also. They buy great food and some household supplies for the old lady everyday; and they often take her out to distract her thoughts. The old lady is physical well and has a comfortable and wealthy life.

But don’t know why, she looks gloomy and sad all day long and can’t have a good appetite or eat well. Grandpa Wang, one of the woman’s neighbors, is a warm-hearted man with a cheerful disposition. When he sees this, he asked the lady why.

“I am really worried! It’s rain again; my second son’s cement will not be salable. If the weather clear up tomorrow, who will buy my first son’s rain gear? ” she said with a frown.

Grandpa Wang laughed after he heard this. He smiled and told the old woman: “My sister-in-law, could you think it over in reverse? Yes, it’s raining now, how well the business of your first son! It’s sure he can earn a lot of money. If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, your second son’s cement are sell fast. He can also earn a lot of money. Don’t you feel happy for them?”

Tasting what the old man said carefully and she suddenly cheered up. Since then, the old woman feels cheerful and never worried any more.

In fact, happiness and worries are invited ourselves. Everything has a good side and a bad one. When you adopt a negative attitude to face a thing, you only have worries and sad. When you use positive and optimistic attitude towards it, what you get is not only the happiness.

For example, in the face of various kinds of remedial class, facing the piles of homework, who have a negative attitude may think” Oh, I don’t have time to play again.” but the positive and optimistic people must think “I’m so happy that I can have so many opportunities to learn. As long as I work hard, I will be a high quality talents man welcomed everywhere in the future.”

Maybe some people said:” Actually I also don’t want to worry and don’t like to worry about. But, I have already accustomed to face every thing like this.”

So, my friend, please listen to me a piece of advice: abandon your bad habit, change your mentality—in a positive and optimistic attitude，so you’ll be happy—happy everyday—totally happy—growth and happy!

Happiness is a decision of you. As long as you decide to be happy, and adjust your own state of mind, you will happy always!

In the last two months, you will see “Hello! Your domain has been blocked” when you visit my blog. Yes, my website was closed nearly two months because some problems with Chinese characteristics.

One day about tow months ago, a special situation occurred when I visited my blog normal. It is sad that my domain was blocked. I was surprised. At the very start, I thought maybe the DNS wasn’t work. So I contacted the domain service provider. After their examination, they told me that the problem was not there. Then I contacted the web hosting service provider and heir equipment also was the normal operation. Finally I knew the problem place through the search engine. The real problem was that my domain had been hijacked lawfully because my domain didn’t put on record in the ministry of industry and information technology. So, you may feel confused why a domain should be putted on record?

In China, every domain must put on record in the MIIT. The purpose is to prevent illegal web site on the Internet to engage in illegal business activities, and to fight the spread of bad Internet information. If the site does not record, it may be punished through shutting down your web site. The MIIT reiterated in December last year that domain names must be registered with the government, and those that were not would “not be resolved or transferred”.

But to small webmaster like me, website for records is very boring. You must submit much information and many documents to the web hosting service provider. If those materials are verified, they communicate those materials to local province communication management board that that webmaster is. Then the communication management board verifies again. Any link is wrong, the recording will be returned to fill out and submit again. The whole process may take at least a month.

This blog for the record has failed once, and the second record is still waiting. However I can hardly wait; I transfer the website to foreign host business today. Let the bullets fly away!

Anyway, my blog comes back again.

What is the book about?

This book tells a story of a poor, ugly man called Elephant Man.

Content Abstract:

At first, nobody liked the elephant man. People often laughed at him. Some people were afraid of him. People putted him in a cage and showed him like animals.

Until one day, he was found by a doctor. The doctor thought the man was very interesting and wanted to research him. So he took the man to the hospital in London and lived in the hospital.

Then, the elephant man became famous. Everyone wanted to visit him; even the queen came to see him. Many people gave the hospital a lot of money for the elephant man. The man lived in the hospital for a long, happy life. He read many books and newspapers and talked to his visitors gladly.

Later in the summer, he stayed in the county for six weeks. After he came back to London, he talked about the country a lot and was happy to see his friends and his books again.

But six months later, the doctor found him dead in bed.

Why do we call him elephant man?(The following is based on his description.)

It was not a man or a woman, like you or me.

His dead was the most interesting thing. It was very, very big, like an enormous bag with a lot of books in it. The head did not have much hair, and there was another bag of brown, dirty skin at the back of it. This skin came down below his neck.

An enormous red tooth came out of his mouth, under his nose. It looked like an elephant’s tooth. The mouth and nose were like holes in the face. The face could not smile or laugh or look angry or sad, because the skin could not move. It was dead, like an elephant’s face.

There were more bags of dirty skin on the front and back of the body. These bags came down to his legs. The right arm was enormous, and there were bags of skin on it, too. The right hand was like a man’s foot.

But the left hand the left arm and the left hand were beautiful! The left arm had wonderful skin, and the fingers of the left hand were long and beautiful. It was like a young woman’s hand!

He could not walk well. His legs were very big and fat and he had a bad back. He could not walk far without a stick.

How he died?

He did not usually sleep on his back. His enormous head was very heavy, so he usually sat up in bed with his arms round his legs and his head on his knees. He could sleep well like this.

But he wanted to sleep on his back like you and me. He tried to sleep on his back that night, but his heavy head came off the bed, and he broke his neck. He died very quickly.

About this story:

The White family had not much money, but they were a very happy little family.

One day, Tom Morris came to this family and visited them. Tom was a soldier in India for twenty-one years. Before he went to India, he and Mr. White were good friends. He told the family a lot of strange and wonderful things in India. Then, he took out a Monkey’s Paw from his pocket and told them that the Monkey’s Paw can do strange and wonderful things. The paw was magic because it can give three wishes to three people, meanwhile these three wishes didn’t bring happiness. The White family was all interesting. So Mr. White took it from Tom. Tom Morris emphasized that the Monkey’s Paw would bring unhappiness, but old Mr. White did not listen and he did not think.

After Tom Morris leaved, the next day, Mr. White made a wish for thirty thousand pounds! But it was nothing happened immediately and there was not any money. They told about the paw and money again and again until next day.

Later in the day, a stranger came and told the couple their son, Herbert, was killed by machinery in an accident at his company. The old couple was very sad and they didn’t believe it. In order to show sympathy, the stranger gave the couple thirty thousand pounds.

Three days later, the old two people said goodbye to their dead son in a big, new cemetery. The days went by very slowly; Mrs. White missed her son everyday.

One night, Mrs White thought a idea suddenly. She wanted to make a wish for her son to come back. She found out the Monkey’s paw and made this wish. She stayed for a long time but nothing happened.

Late at that night, they didn’t sleep, they waited and listened. Suddenly, they heard a noise at the front door. Mrs. White thought her son was coming and going to open the door for him. Mr. White tried to stopped her but it had no effect. He thought the paw again. When Mrs. White began to open the door, Mr. White made his third wish. Then, it was quiet out of the door and there was nobody there.
