Gavin Newsom claims Trump ordered DOJ probe targeting him and his wife

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday revealed that the Justice Department is investigating him and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, under orders from President Donald Trump.

"After calling for my arrest last year, Donald Trump directed his Department of Justice to investigate me," he said in a video statement. "And just in the last week, I’ve learned his campaign has reached my own home: to get me, he’s coming after my wife, Jen."

The governor also claimed the investigation is intended to undermine any potential White House bid he may pursue in the future.

"Donald Trump isn’t just coming after me because of my mean Tweets. He’s coming after me because I am considering running for President," he said. "Because he hates that I’ve consistently called him out – over and over again – for his lies and deceit. Donald Trump is simply the most corrupt President in American history."

Bug-based foods could win over skeptics with a single taste, researchers say

For anyone on the fence about eating insect-based foods, a tasting experiment may be enough to change some minds.

To discover how consumers respond to insect-based foods, researchers from the University of Beira Interior in Portugal measured the brain activity and heart rate of people while they sampled insect foods. The scientists also incorporated traditional surveys into their research.

Thirty-eight adults who had never tried insect-based foods before participated in the study. They tasted both an insect protein bar and a cereal bar while the researchers measured their physiological responses.

The findings were presented at the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior's annual meeting.

"The researchers expected participants to have low awareness of insect-based foods, prefer the cereal bar and show stronger physiological reactions to the insect-based product," a news release on the study noted. "Instead, the findings revealed that people were often more curious and receptive than expected."

Some of the participants were made aware of which bar they were eating, while others were told they were eating a cereal bar, when it actually contained insects.

"The physiological measurements showed that participants became more attentive and engaged while consuming the insect-based bars," the release said.

Participants' heart rates also increased during the tasting sessions, indicating "heightened arousal and attentiveness." This response was present even when participants didn't know they were consuming an insect-based product.

AMERICANS SHOULD EAT MORE OF THESE INVASIVE ANIMALS, SAY EXPERTS

Most participants said they preferred the insect bar over the cereal bar, the researchers found. They also determined that "curiosity and attention may outweigh initial disgust toward insect-based foods."

The findings align with previous polling that suggests Americans may be more open to insect-based foods than commonly assumed. A 2021 YouGov survey found that 25% of Americans were willing to ingest insect ingredients, while 18% said they would be willing to eat whole bugs.

"The findings were very surprising," said lead author Andreia C. B. Ferreira, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Beira Interior.

"This was really an unexpected result as literature said to us that consumers tend to reject these novel foods. The results show us the relevance of tasting experiments on promoting this new alternative."

The edible insect market is expanding, according to Fortune Business Insights, which estimates the global market will grow from $1.73 billion in 2025 to $13.23 billion by 2034, driven by growing interest in sustainable nutrition, resource efficiency and diversified protein sources.

Beetles dominated the insect-based food market in 2025, with 33% of the share, Persistence Market Research reported.

The yellow mealworm and lesser mealworm also topped the list, while crickets and grasshoppers were the fast-growing insect type segment.

Ashley Gearhardt, Ph.D., a professor of psychology at the University of Michigan, told Fox News Digital that it's "exciting to see that consumers may be open to new abundant sources of nutrition."

"We are going to have to be creative to make sure people are fed and nourished in the 21st century — and this study suggests we may be more curious and willing to try new things," added Gearhardt, who was not involved in the study.

Several insect-based food products are already available to consumers. Chirps Chips are tortilla-style chips made with cricket flour, while other companies market cricket protein powders and snack bars.

Jiminy's grain-free cookies for dogs are made with crickets and grubs.

Insect-based foods should be promoted as new and beneficial for both their nutritional and sustainability aspects, Ferreira said.

Exposing people to unfamiliar foods through sample tastings may cause them to view the novel foods differently, the researchers concluded.

"In this study, participants often expressed uncertainty or surprise when discussing insect-based foods before tasting them, yet many reported positive reactions after trying the product," according to the release.

It also noted that this was a very small study — and that larger, more diverse studies are necessary to gain more conclusive information.

Cape Verde is a small island nation located off the coast of Africa. Its population is just over 524,800 and each one of them had to have been jubilant following their soccer team’s FIFA World Cup result against Spain.

Spain is one of the favorites to win the World Cup this year, but only picked up one point in their match against Cape Verde. The two sides came to a 0-0 tie on Monday in one of the biggest shockers of the tournament so far.

Cape Verde’s 40-year-old goalkeeper Vozinha kept Spain at bay in the first half despite an onslaught of shots. Spain had seven shots on goal, compared to Cape Verde’s one, but could never find the back of the net.

Mikel Oyarzabal took five of the seven shots.

Spanish sensation Lamine Yamal started the game off the bench, but even he couldn’t find the shot to get past Cape Verde.

The two squads will come away with one point each in the Group H matchup. It makes the road for Spain that much difficult as they await the result from the Saudi Arabia-Uruguay matchup later Monday.

FOX ONE’S NEW WORLD CUP VIEWING EXPERIENCE

Cape Verde is making its first World Cup appearance. The nation was a part of Portugal when the World Cup first began. It didn’t immediately become a FIFA member either.

The country started to vie for a World Cup appearance in 2002. They didn’t qualify for the tournament until this year as the field expanded to 48 nations.

Cape Verde is ranked 67th among FIFA members.

Spain won the World Cup in 2010 when the tournament took place in South Africa. In the last two tournaments, the nation only got as far as the round of 16.

Spain entered this year’s World Cup ranked No. 2.

Hollywood celebrities, led by Jane Fonda, used a Sunday night "Rise Up, Sing Out" concert in New York City to criticize President Donald Trump and his administration during an event held to counter the White House’s UFC Freedom 250 programming.

Fonda, who helped revive the Committee for the First Amendment, said Americans' rights were under government attack.

"This isn’t the first time that Americans’ rights have come under attack," Fonda said. "But this time, what is really different from the last century is that the attacks are coming from every part of the government: the executive, the legislative, and the Supreme Court."

She compared the moment to the House Un-American Activities Committee era of the 1950s.

Robert De Niro told the crowd at New York's Town Hall that he could not separate patriotism from Trump’s second term.

"I can’t love a country that’s led by Donald Trump and his sycophant Congress," De Niro said.

"I truly cannot tell you which option is less of an acid trip. I know I’m not high. I know I’m not. But somehow, I don’t know," Zanotti said.

Former West Virginia state Del. Derrick Evans said the moment reflected a broader cultural problem for Democrats.

Hokit made the comment inside the Octagon during a post-fight interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, claiming without evidence that Michelle Obama is a man.

FBI agents raided the headquarters of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative (OOC) on June 11 and deployed across the state to question members of the organization, sometimes bearing subpoenas or demanding to seize electronic devices, MS Now reported. A day later, multiple sources familiar with the events told CBS News that the operations were part of a fraud-related investigation.

The raid marks the latest flashpoint in the Trump administration’s expanded use of federal law enforcement to scrutinize alleged voter fraud and election-related misconduct, a push cheered by conservatives who have long argued such cases were under-enforced and condemned by Democrats and voting rights groups who say the effort risks turning the FBI into a political weapon against liberal voter registration operations.

OOC is a nonprofit organization that works closely with the Democratic Party in Ohio on voter mobilization and registration efforts. It is especially active in ballot referendums, tapping its vast donor network that includes the Soros family's philanthropies, to do so.

The group previously spent $250,000 in 2023 to oppose a GOP-led effort to block the right to an abortion from being enshrined in Ohio’s constitution and spent a further $300,000 against a Republican redistricting effort a year later.

OOC finances these expenditures by tapping a deep network of top-level liberal donors.

Recent tax documents show that the organization had over $10 million in revenue during 2024. OOC’s considerable financial resources are provided by a variety of high-profile Democratic-aligned donor organizations, including the Soros family’s philanthropies, New Venture Fund and the Tides Foundation as well as unions such as the American Federation of Teachers and the Service Employees International Union.

The Soros family's Foundation to Promote Open Society gave OOC roughly $1.9 million between 2019 and 2020. In 2021, Open Society Action Fund gave an additional $1 million to OOC's sister organization, the Ohio Organizing Campaign, followed by another $1 million donation in 2023.

"That is the only reason why they would choose to do that, do it now, in the middle of a contested political election in the state. There’s no other reason. They have no evidence of that."

OOC previously came under fire in 2017 when a paid canvasser working with the group pleaded guilty over his involvement in a fraudulent voter registration operation. Republicans, however, have yet to produce conclusive evidence of widespread voter fraud in recent election cycles.

That's not to say that the U.S. Open has snuck up on us — an impossibility given the major championship's return to Shinnecock Hills — but it feels like just last week we were watching Rory McIlroy slip on another green jacket, yet here we are at the third major of the year.

Another major championship means another collection of storylines to pay attention to before things get underway on Long Island on Thursday morning.

It's impossible to put into words how special Sunday, June 21, may turn out to be for the No. 1 player in the world.

BUD CAULEY FINALLY GETS WHAT HE DESERVES WITH MAIDEN PGA TOUR VICTORY, PLUS A CHECK-IN ON US OPEN EXPECTATIONS

Not only does Father's Day fall on that date this year, but it also happens to be Scheffler's 30th birthday, and what a gift it would be for him to win his first U.S. Open to complete the career grand slam.

Scheffler would become the seventh player to complete the career grand slam with a victory at Shinnecock, and just the fourth player to complete the feat in their first attempt.

While still the betting favorite to get the job done, Scheffler actually enters the week flying a bit under the radar, at least more under the radar than anyone would have imagined at the start of 2026.

Scheffler hasn't picked up a win since January, and while he's finished T-4 or better in six of his 11 starts that followed, he's looked more human than he has at any point over the last three-plus years. He still leads the field in strokes gained: total and strokes gained: tee to green.

Given that he successfully defended at Augusta National back in April, his approach and very limited schedule have paid off thus far. His T-7 at the PGA Championship last month was plenty competitive as well.

With Shinnecock being a huge ballpark where distance off the tee will be a significant advantage, this week should provide McIlroy with the opportunity to use his driver as a weapon. If the putter shows up with him this week, McIlroy contending is almost a guarantee.

Jack Nicklaus is the only man to ever play in 100 consecutive majors. He actually teed it up in an astonishing 146 straight major championships, a feat that may never be broken, but he will have some company joining him on Thursday.

When he puts a ball in the air in the opening round, Adam Scott will hit the triple-digit mark in consecutive major championships. The Aussie's streak in majors began at the 2001 Open, and includes his lone major victory at the 2013 Masters.

Nicklaus' run in majors spanned from the 1962 Masters to the 1998 U.S. Open. Thirty-six years of not missing a single major start; just a ridiculous feat.

With Englishman Aaron Rai hosting the Wanamaker Trophy at the PGA Championship a month after McIlroy won the Masters, it marked the first time of the modern era that the year's first two major championships were won by Europeans.

You have to go back to 2009 to find the last time the first two majors of the year were each won by non-Americans. Angel Cabrera of Argentina won the Masters in '09, and South Korea's Y.E. Yang followed that up by taking down Tiger Woods at the PGA Championship.

McIlroy leads the charge of Europeans looking to make it three in a row, but Spain's Jon Rahm, England's Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood, and Ludvig Aberg of Sweden should be part of the equation that unfolds at Shinnecock.

FIRST ON FOX: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a Brazilian illegal immigrant, who authorities say previously served as the commander of two designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations, after allegedly attempting to flee a North Carolina traffic stop while preparing to escape to Mexico.

Felipe Linares de Oliveira Dell Aquilla, known as "Don," was arrested June 5 in Mooresville, North Carolina, after allegedly leading law enforcement on a vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash before his arrest, according to a Department of Homeland Security press release obtained by Fox News Digital.

Federal authorities say Dell Aquilla was wanted in Brazil on charges of criminal association and extortion and had been preparing to leave the United States for Mexico.

Dell Aquilla previously served as a commander within the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) and Comando Vermelho (CV), two Brazil-based criminal organizations that were recently designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations by the Trump administration, according to DHS.

Law enforcement intelligence indicated Dell Aquilla was holding his wife against her will as he plotted his escape to Mexico. Authorities said investigators later interviewed his wife, who confirmed she had been held against her will.

Investigators said Dell Aquilla led authorities on a pursuit after officers initiated a traffic stop. The chase ended when he crashed into stopped traffic and allegedly attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of multiple cellphones, laptops, cash and a 9 mm handgun, according to DHS.

Dell Aquilla was transported to a county jail and faces a state felony charge of fleeing to elude arrest. HSI is pursuing additional charges of kidnapping and being an alien in possession of a firearm, according to DHS. ICE has also lodged a detainer on him.

Dell Aquilla illegally entered the United States "at an unknown date and location," according to federal authorities.

HSI Greensboro and HSI Charlotte worked alongside HSI New England, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office and the Mooresville Police Department in the operation.

Former ESPN host Jemele Hill says she would have a better job and a higher salary if she were a white person in America.

On Threads over the weekend, Hill answered the question: "Black people, if you woke up white tomorrow, what's the first thing you would do?"

Hill replied: "I'm going to apply for a job with a great salary knowing I have no qualifications and will get the job."

Oh, really?

At this point, you almost have to admire Hill's commitment to the bit. Even she can't seriously believe her career would be more successful if she were white.

In fact, we can say with near certainty that Hill would not have landed most of the opportunities she's received since leaving ESPN if she were White, whether at The Atlantic, Spotify, or CNN+.

Call it DEI, corporate cowardice, or simply racial favoritism. Hill continues to find opportunities because she is a black woman who proudly attacks white people, including once declaring white men the "worse [sic] thing in America for decades."

Her career has followed a pattern since 2017. Her projects underperform, the opportunities disappear, and yet another executive decides she's worth another chance.

While figures like Hill, Bomani Jones, and Elle Duncan have leveraged their race to advance their careers, media companies have aggressively cut ties with white employees since 2020. Just look at ESPN's recent rounds of layoffs. The cuts have fallen overwhelmingly on white talent.

The notion that white Americans routinely walk into high-paying jobs for which they are unqualified is fiction. We understand that Hill does not value facts, but multiple studies have found that white applicants are often passed over in favor of less-qualified candidates from preferred demographic groups.

Few public figures better illustrate the principle that the demand for racism exceeds the supply than Jemele Hill.

That's because people like Hill have a vested interest in keeping racial grievance at the center of the conversation. Without racial tensions, she would have no value to offer the white executives who feel obligated to prove they are not racist.

In a truly merit-based industry, Hill would likely be unemployable. She was once a respected columnist. Since then, she has revealed herself to be reckless, bitter, and grossly uninformed.

Just last week, she attempted to portray convicted murderer Karmelo Anthony as a victim of a racist justice system.

What is truly disgraceful is leveraging your skin color to remain employed while insisting that white privilege is responsible for your own shortcomings.

Six men allegedly kidnapped two people at a Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort in Florida and tortured them, according to officials.

The incident took place starting on the night of May 29 at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort with one of the suspects "pressuring" a victim as well as a witness to go to a car show in a remote part of Broward County, Florida, according to a recently unsealed court document. Saul Alfonso Fajardo, 19, Justin Phihoang Le, 20, Amari Tamire Hill, 21, Anthony Teruel Hernandez, 18, Marikevies McNichols Jr., 19, and Weilen Hernandez, 20, were charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

Two victims, who weren't identified in court documents, allegedly met up with "Saul" at the Margaritaville parking garage as well as a female suspect. After getting to the parking garage, the two victims were forced into two cars at gunpoint by several people, according to court documents.

Officials said that Hill slammed one of the victims onto a car and forced him into the passenger seat. Phihoang then allegedly told the victim "If you try to get out, I'm going to end your life," further saying "I am going to kill you and your family." The victim complied, fearing for his life.

The complaint states that Phihoang allegedly demanded that one of the victims give him money if he wanted to live, then forced him to call friends to try to get the money.

"If I don't get my money, every 10 minutes I'm going to take one of your fingernails," Phihoang allegedly told the victim.

The victim "observed a pair of pliers inside the car and believed they were going to pull his fingernails off, so he continued calling people in an attempt to get money," according to the criminal complaint. The victim in the other car was allegedly held at gunpoint.

Both victims would be taken to a location one of the suspects referred to as "the spot," which was the West Broward Boat Ramp.

Once they were there, the FBI agent said both victims were "forced to kneel at gunpoint," adding that one of the suspects saw a tattoo on a victim. The two were allegedly robbed of their personal belongings, including phones, jewelry, clothing and other personal items. One of the victims was allegedly forced to send $400 through Zelle.

"I’m gonna burn the tattoo off of you, you don’t deserve to have it. I’m going to torture you," Phihoang allegedly said.

The suspects even forced the two victims to strip in their underwear while demanding money, according to the complaint, which added that Hill fired a round into the air while he was on a video call "in an attempt to let the person on the phone know they were serious."

The suspects at one point became concerned that the second victim's ankle monitor could disclose their location to police, and allegedly dropped him off within a subdivision of Cooper City, where the victim walked to a relative's home in nothing but underwear.

The other victim allegedly observed the suspects "burning something" at the boat ramp, then heard someone say "We have to burn the evidence," according to the FBI agent. That's when the victim, "in fear for his life," began faking a seizure.

After the suspects put the victim into a car, one of the men "began to panic" and threw the victim out of the car, where he made his way to safety.

Authorities allegedly recovered burned clothing and more of the victims' items at the boat ramp, as well as surveillance videos.

Messages between the unidentified female suspect and Fajardo allegedly confirm that the first victim was assaulted.

"He got jump injuries," one of the messages read. "DELETE INSTA."

Fox News Digital reached out to lawyers for all suspects named for comment.

While the company isn't out of the woods yet, it turns out speaking less with corporate media elites, holding less fake marketing events and getting back to serving the customers who pay your bills is the best business practice. Imagine that.

Once Julie and her Maddow glasses disappeared, she put her head down, quit worrying about a logo, and made sure her restaurants were serving the customer, Cracker Barrel rebounded.

De Niro says he can't love America, compares country to abusive husband

Actor Robert De Niro said Sunday that he can't love a country that's led by President Donald Trump during a speech at a "Rise Up, Sing Out" event in New York City, arguing that loving the U.S. at the moment was comparable to an abused spouse saying they "love their abuser."

De Niro explained during his remarks that he signed a letter protesting late-night host Jimmy Kimmel being taken off the air in September, and said he took issue with one of the lines in the letter that said, "We love our country regardless of political affiliation."

"The phrase, ‘We all love our country,’ stuck in my throat," he told the crowd at the event. "Because our country isn't so lovable right now. I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser."

"I can't love a country that starts stupid and inhumane wars, killing thousands of innocents and indirectly causing the deaths and suffering of millions more," De Niro continued. "I can't love a country that takes healthcare away from millions of people and uses that money to enrich their pals in the Trump-Epstein class."

"You have to," he said, starting to cry. "You have to lift people up. You have to bring them together. Period. You can't divide people. You can't win that way. It's a no-win situation."

De Niro rejected the notion that he had "Trump Derangement Syndrome" during an interview with Fox News Digital in April.

When asked about such criticism, De Niro called it "nonsense."

"People don't like him for a reason," De Niro shot back. "All the terrible things he's done. If he did nice things, then he could have, he had the chance — he became president — to do nice things, not hateful, retribution, not just, outright mean things. If he did nice things, people would love him. But he's got a problem. He's damaged."

Trump may have won a strategic pause in Iran. Now comes the hard part

More than two decades ago, as a Pentagon strategist during the run-up to the Iraq War in 2003, I found myself asking a question that received far less attention than troop movements, air strikes or invasion plans: What happens after the initial victory?

Military planners focused on defeating Saddam Hussein's regime. I remained concerned about what would follow. Even with access to senior-level planning discussions and classified assessments, I believed too many assumptions were being made about the peace that was supposed to emerge after the fighting stopped.

That same question returned to me Sunday when President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the United States and Iran had reached a memorandum of understanding to end nearly four months of war and that he was authorizing the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the U.S. naval blockade. A formal signing ceremony is set for Friday, June 19, in Geneva, with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif serving as host.

The guns are falling silent. Diplomats are returning to the table. Oil futures dropped 4% and equity markets rallied on the news. Those developments should not be dismissed.

WHAT COMES NEXT IN THE IRAN WAR? WHAT THIS CEASEFIRE WILL AND WON'T DO

But history teaches us that ending a war and securing a durable peace are not the same thing.

Trump deserves credit for bringing this conflict to this point. He was scheduled to arrive in Evian-les-Bains today, June 15, for the G7 summit running June 15- 17 with genuine momentum. Last year he left the G7 in Canada early because of the growing conflict. This year he arrives having announced its tentative end.

TRUMP IS REALIGNING WORLD ENERGY MARKETS AND THE IRAN STRIKES ARE ACTUALLY HELPING

The economic stakes were severe. The Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed since late February, strangling roughly 20% of global petroleum supplies, some 20 million barrels per day. U.S. inflation reached 4.2% in May, the highest level in three years, driven almost entirely by the energy shock Iran's closure produced.

The International Maritime Organization confirmed at least 46 attacks on international shipping in and around Hormuz since the conflict began. Reopening the strait is the most immediate economic relief available.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he welcomed the agreement reached and that it must be implemented "with determination." He stressed, "The Strait of Hormuz must be opened to free navigation permanently and without any restrictions" and said Iran must "verifiably" discontinue its military nuclear plans. Even allies who questioned the military campaign cannot credibly dismiss what has been accomplished.

Trump has scheduled bilateral meetings at the G7 with Macron and with leaders from Egypt, Qatar, the UAE and India, the regional partners whose quiet cooperation made this agreement possible. Qatar and Pakistan served as primary mediators; Saudi Arabia provided critical support. That coalition is a genuine diplomatic achievement.

Yet Americans should view this agreement for precisely what it is: a strategic pause.

TRUMP’S IRAN WAR NOW COMES DOWN TO ONE BRUTAL QUESTION: WHAT COMES NEXT?

That is not a criticism. A strategic pause may be exactly what is needed at this moment. But a pause is not a solution.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) extends the ceasefire for 60 days, including in Lebanon, during which nuclear negotiations are to be conducted. A senior administration official confirmed that Iran has committed "indefinitely to never procure or develop nuclear weapons," a pledge that, if verified and enforced, would exceed what the Obama-era Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action ever achieved. Sanctions relief is tied to compliance. Those terms, on paper, are strong.

The ink was barely dry before contradictions surfaced. Iranian state media contradicted U.S. officials on the Hormuz terms, claiming Iran retains the right to charge transit fees. The international shipping industry warned it "still considers it very risky for ships to commence transits" through the strait despite the announced deal. The actual MOU text has been closely held; European allies told CNN they are working from diplomatic conversations rather than the document itself.

The Lebanon dimension is the most immediate complication. Israel was not party to the negotiations. Defense Minister Israel Katz announced Monday the IDF will not withdraw from Lebanon, Syria or Gaza under any deal terms, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly told Trump directly that Israel does not consider itself bound by the Lebanon provisions. Hezbollah fired drones into northern Israel on Sunday even as the deal was announced.

The agreement does not resolve the crisis. It pauses the crisis and creates an opportunity to resolve it.

ANY NEW IRAN DEAL SHOULD BE JUDGED BY RESULTS, NOT VICTORY-LAP RHETORIC

What should Americans watch?

First, does Hormuz remain genuinely open, not simply unblockaded, but trusted by commercial shipping and transited by tankers at normal volume? Iran's contradictory statements on tolls, the need to clear mines, and the shipping industry's stated reluctance to resume transits all suggest the reopening will be contested.

Second, does Iran accept verifiable, permanent limits on its nuclear activities, confirmed decommissioning of enrichment infrastructure and full inspector access? Trump said Saturday the deal would eliminate Iran's enriched uranium stockpile. His Sunday announcement omitted any reference to the nuclear program. That gap matters.

MARK LEVIN: DEAL OR NO DEAL?

Third, does regional violence actually decline, or does it migrate from one front to another? Israel's stated refusal to honor the Lebanon provisions is the kind of discrepancy that has collapsed agreements before.

Fourth, does this agreement survive the 60-day window and produce a second, binding accord? Many ceasefires endure for weeks. Far fewer produce lasting settlements. The 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which Tehran ultimately subverted, is the relevant precedent. Hope is appropriate. Naïveté is not.

MORNING GLORY: WHAT WILL DONALD TRUMP'S LEGACY BE AS A WARTIME PRESIDENT?

Success is not measured by a signing ceremony in Geneva, favorable market reactions, or a post on Truth Social. Success is measured by whether the underlying causes of the conflict are addressed in ways that reduce the likelihood of a future war.

As I learned during years in the Pentagon, military campaigns can achieve remarkable results. The harder challenge is always securing the peace that follows. President Dwight D. Eisenhower understood this after the Korean War. We learned it painfully after taking Baghdad in April.

President Trump may ultimately look back on this agreement as one of his most significant foreign policy achievements. I genuinely hope he can.

He was set to arrive at the G7 today with the wind at his back. The question that will define his legacy is not whether he ended the shooting. It is whether the architecture built in these next 60 days proves stronger than Tehran's ambitions, Israel's independent judgment, and the region's long history of swallowing diplomatic frameworks whole.

The shooting may be stopping. The real test is only beginning.

We have reached the end of the road with the NBA and NHL seasons as both concluded in the past two days, which means we have nothing but baseball for the next few months in terms of the big four sports.

However, we still have WNBA and World Cup action to give some attention to as well as golf and UFC. There are always a bevy of options, but baseball will most likely take center stage for me. Tonight, we have the San Diego Padres taking on the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Padres have a winning record, but still remain one of the most confusing teams in baseball. They are always looking to make a splash via the trade deadline or in free agency, but it just doesn't ever seem to be exactly what is needed to field a full-fledged winner. They are 37-33 for the season and do have a winning road record. So, something is going correctly, but we know they are looking for a Wild Card berth and then hoping they can get lucky in the playoffs.

Instead of looking ahead, let's look at who they have on the hill today. That would be Lucas Giolito. He is 2-1 with a 4.35 ERA and a 1.74 WHIP. This will be just his sixth start of the season, and he has allowed a different amount of earned runs in each of his outings. He has allowed 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 earned runs. So does that mean he will allow five today? Probably not, but it is a quirky thing that I noticed. Cardinals hitters are just 1-for-14 against him, but obviously that sample size is a bit too small to depend on.

The Cardinals were supposed to take a year off from being good. They've taken the past few off, but this was one where they fully embraced trying to rebuild the club. Instead, they've found a lot of success from journeymen and youngsters. They are 38-31, and could consider bolstering the team at the deadline if they want to give them a true postseason shot. I think it would be hard for them to win a playoff spot with the roster they have at the moment, but they've proved me wrong so far, so there is no reason not to believe in them moving forward.

The main concern I have is that their pitching just isn't that good. They aren't exactly terrible by any means, but they don't have a true ace to get them a win when needed. Dustin May takes the ball today, and I do like his stuff, but don't think he will ever be more than a third or fourth starter. May is 4-6 with a 4.26 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. He has allowed 34 earned runs this season with a third of them coming in the first two games.

Having pitched for the Dodgers for so long, the Padres have plenty of experience against May. They are batting .237 against him with both Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. having success against him. Even with May pitching well, I think we can see some success coming for the Padres. The weather should be good for tonight with the wind slightly blowing out to right field.

The Cardinals are a good squad and have been decent at home, but they are beatable there. May is almost certainly the better pitcher, but I think we can see the Padres get to him today. Give me the Padres to win this game, as I think the line is too much in favor of St. Louis, giving us some value.

A text about making extra money can feel harmless at first. Maybe it shows up while you are between errands, scrolling on the couch or looking for a way to pad your budget.

That is exactly why these scams work. They do not always begin with a wild promise. Often, they start with a simple message about flexible online work. Then the scammer slowly turns curiosity into trust.

Rick's story fits a growing scam category often called a task scam, task-optimization scam or crypto job scam. These scams often begin with unexpected texts or WhatsApp messages offering online work. The "job" may involve fake tasks such as app optimization, product boosting, liking content or rating items online.

A text job scam is a fake employment offer sent by text, WhatsApp, Telegram or social media message. The pitch usually sounds easy. You may be told you can earn money from home by completing simple online tasks.

In Rick's case, the supposed work involved uploading apps to help them get more exposure. Scammers often use vague tech terms because they sound legitimate without being easy to verify. Task scams commonly use buzzwords like "optimization tasks" or "product boosting."

That vague wording gives the scammer room to keep changing the story. One day, you are doing small tasks. Then you are told you need to deposit crypto to unlock more work, complete a set or withdraw your supposed earnings.

The scam often starts with a friendly recruiter. They may claim to represent a real company or a company name that sounds real. That detail matters because a quick online search may not be enough to protect you. Crypto job scammers often pose as employees of legitimate companies. They may contact victims by text, then push the conversation to WhatsApp, Telegram or another private messaging app.

Next, the scammer gives you access to a website or app that shows your "earnings." At first, you may even be allowed to withdraw a small amount. That early payout makes the whole setup feel legit.

Then the trap tightens. You may be told to add your own money to keep working. The fake platform may show a negative balance. A "customer service" contact may tell you that you need to deposit crypto before you can unlock your account. The FBI warns that victims are often hit with a large deposit requirement after they already have money trapped inside the platform. That is the moment many people keep paying. They are not being careless. They are trying to save the money they have already put in.

These scams are built to mess with your judgment. The fake dashboard may show commissions climbing. A group chat may include supposed workers bragging about payouts. A fake customer service rep may sound calm, professional and helpful. Scammers sometimes invite hesitant victims into group chats filled with fake success stories. The goal is simple: make you feel like everyone else understands the system and you are the only one holding back.

That pressure can make a smart person second-guess their gut. It can also create embarrassment, which helps scammers. If victims feel ashamed, they may wait longer to tell someone or report it. Rick's comment is valuable because it cuts through that shame. He did what many people would do. He researched. He stayed skeptical at first. He still got pulled in.

Crypto adds speed and distance. Once you send cryptocurrency to a scammer's wallet, it can be extremely difficult to recover.

That is why scammers love it. The FTC says crypto has become the payment method of choice in many task scams. Job scam losses involving cryptocurrency have surged, according to FTC data.

The FBI's 2025 Internet Crime Report also shows how costly crypto fraud has become. Americans who filed cryptocurrency-related complaints reported more than $11 billion in losses in 2025.

Rick's story includes several warning signs that everyone should know. The first is the unexpected text. Real companies rarely recruit strangers by random text for easy online work.

The second is the vague job description. "Upload apps," "optimize apps," and "boost exposure" may sound tech-related, but a real employer should explain the work clearly.

The third is crypto. A legitimate employer should not require you to use crypto to get paid, unlock tasks or access earnings.

Another warning sign is the idea that the more you put in, the more you can earn. The FBI lists this as a common feature of cryptocurrency job scams.

If this happened to you, stop sending money immediately. Do not pay a "fee," "tax," "unlock charge," or "recovery deposit." That is often the next stage of the scam.

Then gather everything. Save screenshots of texts, wallet addresses, usernames, websites, transaction IDs, emails and phone numbers. Document the company or scammer name, contact methods, dates, payment methods, where funds were sent and a detailed description of the interactions.

Report the scam to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov and to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. You should also contact the crypto exchange or wallet service you used. They may not be able to reverse the transfer, but reporting quickly gives you the best chance of getting the transaction flagged.

Also, watch out for recovery scams. If someone contacts you claiming they can get your crypto back for a fee, that is another major red flag.

FROM FRIENDLY TEXT TO FINANCIAL TRAP: THE NEW SCAM TREND

These scams often start with a simple message, so the best defense is to slow things down before you click, reply or send money.

If a job offer arrives out of nowhere by text, slow down. Search the company's official website on your own. Do not use links sent by the recruiter.

A real job pays you. It does not require you to deposit crypto, buy credits or "recharge" an account before you can collect earnings.

Scammers often move conversations to WhatsApp, Telegram or similar apps. That makes the scam feel more personal and harder to trace.

A website can show any number the scammer wants you to see. A growing balance on a screen does not mean real money exists.

Look up phrases from the message in quotes. Search terms like "app optimization scam," "task scam," "crypto job scam" and the company name.

If the recruiter claims to represent a real business, contact that company through its official website. Ask whether the job and recruiter are legitimate.

A fake job text may include a link to a bogus website, a fake app download or a malicious attachment. Strong antivirus software can help block dangerous links, phishing pages and malware before they do damage. Scammers can use your name, phone number, address, job history and other personal details to make a fake job pitch sound more believable. Left-wing sportswriter angrily criticizes Giants players for protesting Pride Night hats: 'Do better'

There are few things in this world more sanctimonious and hypocritical than left-wing sportswriters getting on their faux moral high horse. College professors spend less time lecturing than a typical sportswriter creating fake controversies to criticize.

Fake controversies that always tilt against one specific viewpoint and ideology that they are too blinded to understand.

The Athletic's Grant Brisbee being a prime example of this phenomenon; someone who has spent zero time even attempting to understand different viewpoints. Different religions. Different perspectives. All while performatively lecturing and demanding everyone agree with his viewpoints.

Brisbee is a fan of the San Francisco Giants, and a far-left sportswriter who focuses on baseball. Aren't they all. Unsurprisingly, he wrote an article for his left-wing sports website criticizing the few Giants players who made quiet public statements during the team's "Pride Night."

Some either wrote Bible verses on their caps, with one pitcher, Sam Hentges, refusing to wear the rainbow and black-colored hat at all. For most sane sports fans, that's a reasonable form of "protest." These players have their specific religious views, and have chosen to make those views known. They didn't harm anyone, they didn't call for anyone to be harmed, or excluded, they put Bible verses on their hats, or wore the same hat that they wear 161 games per year.

For Brisbee, however? This was an outrage. Because he doesn't agree with them.

"... This was another tone-deaf response to what should have been a moment for community unity," he wrote. "They made the night about 'us versus them.' That’s the only thing they could see."

This is, ironically, exactly what people like Brisbee do. They make statements that must be accepted, or create exclusion.

He continues by saying that these games "reduce suffering in a very real way." Which is, of course, absurd.

"Some of that progress was made when events like Pride Night became commonplace, reminding the world of a community’s existence, strength and humanity. Events like Pride Night reduce suffering in a very real way. To suggest they don’t is to ignore the humanity of the individuals involved."

That is...insane. It's beyond insane, it's idiotic to a degree that defies comprehension. People "suffer" from things every day. Giants fans lose their jobs, heck, Giants players lose their jobs, every single day. Is it a baseball team's responsibility to coddle everyone who's ever faced difficulty in their lives? Should the Giants have nights to recognize those who've lost loved ones? Or failed a class? Or got into a severe car crash and dealt with a lengthy recovery?

Those people are all worthy of "support" and "humanity" and "love," yet somehow they can attend Giants games without requiring a night devoted exclusively to reducing their suffering. Do these same suffering individuals not go to any of the other Giants home games where the team doesn't wear "Pride" hats? Are they not welcome at the stadium? Of course not. Christians are often not celebrated on a specific night, are they not welcome? Do the Giants not care about their suffering?

Brisbee, though, can't defend Pride Night as a supposedly non-political event without making it about "suffering," which makes his arguments and defenses immediately absurd.

Not to mention that it's obvious Brisbee would never level these same criticisms at say, a Muslim baseball player who refused to wear the Pride hat. Just the Christian players. Nor would he support if non-Christian players were made to wear hats with symbolism that differed from their views.

A quick search of Brisbee's writing history shows no criticism of the Washington Nationals for one of their employees proudly admitting that the organization wouldn't feature pitcher Trevor Williams on the team's social media accounts because he criticized the Los Angeles Dodgers for honoring a drag queen group that mocks Christians. Nor did Brisbee seem to care about that embarrassment, even though it offended millions of people and demonized and excluded others. A cause he's now so passionate about.

Landon Roupp, one of the protesting players, said this after the game, "There's no hate at all. It’s just what I stand for, and what I stand in. I believe in God." Imagine believing that this message is so destructive to grown adult baseball fans that they simply can't handle it. In this free country, those like Brisbee want to compel speech from those with deeply held religious beliefs. There's nothing more anti-American and unsupportive than that.

"It is a choice to ignore that on a night dedicated to people who need others on their side. Do better. That’s the only thing we’re all supposed to do around here, anyway. Do better," he lectures.

One could ask Brisbee to do the same. Do better to accept those with different views. Do better to understand that not everyone agrees with him. Do better to be a good and kind human that accepts and tolerates people whose religious beliefs conflict with his ideology. But of course, he's not capable of doing better in that direction, because the "tolerant" hypocritical sportswriter is the most exclusionary.

Hillary Clinton's White House UFC jab backfires after critics point out what her husband did in 'our house'

Hillary Clinton’s criticism of President Donald Trump’s White House UFC event drew swift backlash from conservatives, who accused the former first lady of selective outrage by invoking scandals from her and her husband’s time at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Clinton, who lost to Trump in 2016, first slammed the UFC idea last month before posting Sunday that the White House is "not his house" but "our house," while promoting merchandise benefiting groups and candidates she said would "respect the form AND the function of the people’s house."

"Remember, during today's literal cage match on the White House grounds: No matter what, it's not his house. It's our house. Get a hat, coaster, or sticker to support groups and candidates who will respect the form and the function of the people's house," she wrote in a post that had a disclaimer blocking most replies.

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., was one of many critics who sounded off by retweeting Clinton’s post — making light of President Bill Clinton’s salacious behavior with intern Monica Lewinsky in that same People’s House.

Retired Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson, who said he carried Bill Clinton’s nuclear football, sharply criticized Hillary Clinton over her UFC comments.

Barr had claimed that the administration treated the building "worse than college freshmen checking out of their dorm rooms." The GAO concluded that some "pranks" were clearly intentional, which would constitute a criminal act, while Clinton’s supporters said the damage was commensurate with that of prior administrations, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Three children shot near public pool in small Arkansas town, suspect taken into custody

Multiple children were shot over the weekend after gunfire broke out near a recreational public pool in Stuttgart, Arkansas, authorities said.

Officers responded Saturday just before 5 p.m. local time to reports of shots fired at John Cain Aquatic Center, the Stuttgart Police Department said in a statement.

Three children suffered gunshot wounds and were rushed to a local hospital, according to police. One child suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, though police did not elaborate on the injuries of the other two children who were shot.

A suspect was taken into custody within minutes of the incident with help from the Arkansas County Sheriff's Office, police said in a social media post.

"At this time, no names will be released, as all parties involved are juveniles," the department noted.

Stuttgart is a small town in eastern Arkansas, about an hour southeast of Little Rock.

Jim Acosta ruthlessly mocked for comparing removal of Trump’s name from Kennedy Center to fall of Berlin Wall

A former CNN anchor turned YouTube content creator live-streamed for nearly 11 hours from Friday afternoon into early Saturday morning awaiting the removal of President Donald Trump's name from the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., only to make an absurd comparison that ended in widespread mockery.

Jim Acosta, a known anti-Trump media figurehead, was CNN's chief domestic correspondent and anchored "CNN Newsroom" from 2021 until early 2025. He worked for the network for 18 years in total, but left unceremoniously when executives proposed moving his morning show into the midnight to 2 a.m. slot.

Acosta hosted the marathon coverage, which he dubbed a live watch party, on "The Jim Acosta Show" on YouTube. The coverage mostly featured a live shot of scaffolding, obscured by a tarp, behind which workers toiled to remove Trump's name from the building.

"This is very much like watching the Berlin Wall coming down," Acosta said in a strange comparison made around 3:30 a.m.

"It is a sign that mankind, that human kind can stand up against tyranny," he continued. "As long as it took, we pledged to continue to have this coverage going, and by golly, we did, because we knew how much this meant to a lot of people out there, and we know how important this was."

A Democratic congresswoman sued to have the change nullified, and a federal judge last week ruled that the center's original name, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, must be restored.

Before the climax of Acosta's evening, he had given up on the stream and retired to bed, leaving his producer behind to keep watch. He missed the removal of the letters, but was alerted to the goings on by his producer.

"It looks like they are potentially touching the letters," the producer said at 10 hours and 18 minutes into the stream. "I can't say whether or not they're removing them. But it looks like there might be progress."

Acosta rushed to the scene to deliver his report.

"I had just gotten home, and we thought this might take place later in the morning, and of course they did this in the dead of the night," Acosta said upon his return to the scene. "They did this at three in the morning, and to make it — the icing on the cake, the chef's kiss in all of this for Donald Trump — is that they had to put up a giant white tarp to shield Trump and his feelings from the humiliation of seeing this all come down in front of the cameras."

Acosta said Trump "slapped his name illegally and obnoxiously on the exterior of the Kennedy Center," later adding that the president "operates like a small child [who] doesn't wanna give his toy away, doesn't want to hand over his toy after his mommy and daddy have told him it's time to go to bed."

The newly minted social media influencer was relentlessly mocked for the performance, which was posted on X and quickly went viral.

"Jim Acosta is making an aggressive play to take over as angry blueanon wine mom final boss. Watch out Jennifer Welch."

"Decades of Communist oppression V. a sign on a building," one user said after watching the clip. "The similarities are striking."

"Give that man a Pulitzer. What a dipsht [sic]," another person sarcastically said.

Record-breaking daredevil who performed at Super Bowl with Madonna dies in BASE jumping tragedy

A record-breaking daredevil who performed alongside Madonna at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show is one of two men who died in a BASE jumping accident near Moab, Utah, over the weekend, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office.

Andy Lewis, best known for setting a highline record 480 feet above Las Vegas in October 2013, died during a tandem jump with another diver Sunday in Mineral Bottom, Utah, authorities said.

"He was a very big personality," one Moab resident told Fox News Digital Monday. "Everyone knew him."

Lewis' final Instagram video, posted Sunday not long before his death, showed him doing a flip off a cliff in the desert outside Moab.

Lewis was originally from California and relocated to Moab, where he picked up the stage name "Sketchy Andy" for his death-defying stunts.

Lewis had also been part of a group of four men who removed a mysterious 12-foot-tall metal monolith that appeared on public land outside Salt Lake City in 2020.

Stanford University graduates protest Google CEO speech, triggering mass walkout and waving Palestine flags

Hundreds of Stanford University students were seen walking out of their commencement ceremony on Sunday in protest of their speaker, Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.

According to local reports, around 200 students walked out as soon as Pichai took the stage, before he even began to speak. During the walkout, some students were seen holding Palestinian flags.

The protest was likely against Google's involvement in "Project Nimbus," a $1.2 billion joint cloud contract with Amazon connected with the Israeli government. The deal was first announced in 2021 and has drawn controversy from anti-Israel activists since then.

Fox News Digital reached out to Stanford University for comment.

Despite the protest, Pichai's speech largely avoided political issues such as international wars or artificial intelligence. The pivot sharply contrasted with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt's University of Arizona commencement speech last month, where Schmidt was booed while addressing AI.

Instead, Pichai focused on the importance of optimism.

"This might not ring true to you at this moment," Pichai said during his speech. "The world is going through a lot: global conflicts, economic anxiety, a rewiring of technology, information overload, all at a fast pace. It’s easy to look at the news of the day and think that we’re living in uniquely challenging times."

"For me, it’s helpful to remember that each generation has faced hardship in their own way," he continued. "We don’t get to choose the world we graduate into, but we do get to choose how we frame our circumstances."

Pichai was not the first commencement speaker that students have protested at Stanford University. Graduates also walked out last year during commencement speaker Katie Ledecky's speech to protest the school's alleged "complicity" in Israel's war against Gaza.

In 2024, students also protested then-university president, Richard Saller, and held their own "People's Commencement" ceremony to "honor Palestine."

Stanford was one of several major universities that came under controversy for what many considered a lackluster response to anti-Israel protesters on campus. In 2024, more than a dozen agitators occupied the offices of Stanford University’s president and provost, vandalizing the outside of the building.
