Embattled star of 'The Flash' Ezra Miller charged with felony burglary

Actor Ezra Miller, who stars in "The Flash," has been charged with felony burglary in Vermont.

Vermont State Police said on Monday that officers responded to a report of a burglary in the town of Stamford on May 1 and discovered that several bottles of alcohol were taken from a home while the owners were away.

Police looked at surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses before charging Miller.

According to the police report, Miller was found just before midnight Sunday and was given a citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court on Sept. 26 for an arraignment.

The actor's felony charge is the latest in a string of legal troubles and reports of erratic behavior. Miller was arrested twice already this year in Hawaii, including once for disorderly conduct and harassment at a karaoke bar, and in another incident for second-degree assault.

And the parents of Native American activist Tokata Iron Eyes, 18, filed a protection order against Miller earlier this year over allegations he groomed their child, as well as other inappropriate behavior with her since she was 12. Although, Tokata Iron Eyes said in a recent interview that the claims were false.

Miller had appeared in several movies for Warner Bros. and D.C. Films as the Flash, and now stars in the upcoming standalone film "The Flash," expected to be released in June 2023.

Representatives for Miller have notcommented on the burglary charge out of Vermont.

Clinton-linked lawyer says Trump could be barred from re-election after FBI raid, cites US Code

Marc Elias, a top lawyer for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, said Monday that former President Trump could be disqualified from making another run at the White House in 2024 following the FBI raid of his Florida residence.

FBI agents executed a search warrant of Trump's Mar-a-Lago property on Monday reportedly seeking classified documents he allegedly took from the White House when he left office in 2021. The search warrant was conducted in connection with the National Archives, according to a senior government official.

This led Elias to cite U.S. Code Title 18, Section 2071 to highlight that Trump could be barred from seeking public office again, as the former president continues to drop hints that he will soon announce plans to seek a second term as commander-in-chief.

"The media is missing the really, really big reason why the raid today is a potential blockbuster in American politics," Elias wrote in a tweet.

Elias pointed to the passage of U.S. Code Title 18, Section 2071 that states, "Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States."

However, legal challenges could make efforts to prevent Trump from running again under this code difficult, Elias noted in a follow-up tweet.

"Yes, I recognize the legal challenge that application of this law to a president would garner (since qualifications are set in Constitution). But the idea that a candidate would have to litigate this is during a campaign is in my view a "blockbuster in American politics," he wrote.

The Presidential Records Act of 1978 requires presidential administrations to preserve certain documents.

According to the National Archives, the presidential records in 15 boxes taken from Mar-a-Lago earlier this year include documents classified over national security concerns.

The agency has also called on the Department of Justice to probe whether the former president violated federal law in his handling of records.

"Because [the National Archives and Records Administration] identified classified information in the boxes, NARA staff has been in communication with the Department of Justice," then-U.S. archivist David Ferriero wrote in a letter to Congress.

Trump released a statement Monday announcing the FBI's raid and he slammed the federal government for its search of his property.

"Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before," Trump wrote. "After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate."

"It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don't want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections," he continued, adding that "Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries."

Trump is also alleged to have periodically flushed Oval Office documents down a toilet at the White House while he was still in office, according to a forthcoming book from The New York Times' Maggie Haberman, who obtained photographs allegedly showing wads of paper in a toilet.

An Ohio congressman is demanding answers about the FBI's raid on former President Trump's estate on Monday morning.

Sources tell Fox News that the FBI executed a search warrant to find documents President Trump allegedly moved to Florida after he vacated the White House in January 2021.

The raid - which has drawn outrage from the former president's supporters - has also caught the eye of at least one member of the House Intelligence Committee.

Ranking member Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, wrote a letter to FBI director Christopher Wray demanding an "immediate" briefing into the matter.

"I am unaware of any actual or alleged national security threat posed by any information, data, or documents in the possession of former President Trump," Rep. Turner said in a letter on Monday.

Per protocol, FBI director Wray would have been aware of the raid and given a full briefing about it.

The concern over the former president's documents was referred to the Justice Department by the National Archives and Records Administration. The agency alleges that it found classified material in 15 boxes at the residence.

Trump posts campaign ad-style video to Truth Social following FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago

Former President Trump posted a campaign ad-style video on his social media platform Truth Social early Tuesday morning - hours after his Mar-a-Lago estate was raided by FBI agents in Palm Beach, Florida.

The 3-minutes, 50-seconds-long video was uploaded in the wake of federal agents executing a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago. Multiple sources tell Fox News the FBI's raid of Mar-a-Lago is related to the materials Trump allegedly brought to his private residence after his presidency concluded. That matter was referred to the Justice Department by the National Archives and Records Administration, which said it found classified material in 15 boxes at the residence.

The video begins with Trump painting America as "a nation in decline" and discussing a myriad of issues ranging from fallout from the withdrawal of Afghanistan to skyrocketing energy prices. It begins in black and white with the sound of an ominous thunderstorm in the background.

"We are a nation that allowed Russia to devastate a country, Ukraine, killing hundreds of thousands of people, and it will only get worse.," Trump narrates. "We are a nation that has weaponized its law enforcement against the opposing political party like never before."

The former president also implicitly criticized President Biden for distancing himself from Trump's American First foreign policies.

"We are a nation that over the past two years is no longer respected or listened to all around the world."

Trump says that America, in many ways, has become a "joke." The video takes a more uplifting turn as it goes from black and white to color. Trump says it is "hard-working patriots" who will save America.

"There is no mountain we cannot climb, there is no summit we cannot reach, there is no challenge we cannot meet," the former president says as swelling orchestral music plays behind him. "We will not bend, we will not break, we will not yield."

The emotion-packed video is just the latest of many presidential run hints that the former president has teased in recent months. President Trump's son Eric dropped a reference to his father running in 2024 on "Hannity" Monday night.

"I hope – and I’m saying this for the first time – I hope he goes out and beats these guys again," Eric Trump told Sean Hannity. "Because honestly, this country can’t survive this nonsense. It can’t."

Unknown to most Americans, the Chinese Communist Party has been buying our farms, land and even our homes for decades. Why? So they can take our food, technology and other resources for themselves.

What’s worse – it’s perfectly legal. That’s why I’ve introduced a bill to ban the Chinese Communists – and those acting on their behalf – from buying even another handful of American soil.

In recent years, China has exponentially increased its U.S. land holdings, especially of farmland. Between 2010 and 2020, China increased its agricultural land holding by nearly 2,500%, to encompass over 350,000 acres of American soil. Communists have not only purchased the fields and pastures of rural America, they have also taken control of food processing companies like the Virginia-based pork giant, Smithfield.

Chinese communists are gobbling up American agriculture in part because China can’t feed itself. While China is home to nearly 20% of the world’s population, it has less than 10% of the world’s farmable land. As a result, Beijing is forced to go elsewhere for sources of food, especially meat and other forms of protein.

And the CCP’s purchases in the U.S. have largely paid off. At the height of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, Smithfield made sure China got the pork it needed – while American groceries stores ran short. By taking our land and food-processing companies for themselves, Chinese communists benefit their own people and gain leverage over the United States in one fell swoop.

But that isn’t the only reason China is putting down roots in the United States. In some cases, they use our land as strategic outposts to steal advanced American seed and farming technology. In other cases, they’ve bought large tracts of land near U.S. military bases.

In North Dakota, a Chinese firm purchased 300 acres a few miles from a U.S. Air Force base, which reportedly is home to America’s most sophisticated military drone technology. The base also has been called "the backbone of all U.S. military communications across the globe." Similarly, in Texas, a former Chinese military official purchased over 130,000 acres on the U.S.-Mexico border conspicuously close to Laughlin Air Force Base.

 As young Americans move off family farms and their aging parents increasingly retire from the business, China could buy even more. Millions of acres are expected to change hands in the next decade. We must ensure they don’t fall into the clutches of the Chinese Communist Party.

 But the communists aren’t just capturing American agricultural land – they’ve also bought an astonishing amount of American real estate. Between 2010 and 2020, the American Realtors Association estimates that Chinese nationals bought over $200 billion worth of American real-estate, more than any other country in the world.

China’s 300,000-plus residential purchases in the United States since 2010 pose an unknown national-security danger, in addition to fueling the rising cost of living in places like California, where a disproportionate number of Chinese nationals buy. For America, allowing China to purchase our land is a lose-lose proposition.

Our nation’s greatest enemy shouldn’t be allowed to purchase our homeland and turn it into de facto enemy territory. We would never have permitted Russian communists to acquire our land in the last Cold War, and we ought not to permit Chinese communists to do so in this Cold War.

We should not allow a single new tendril of communist influence to take root in American soil. We must ban communist land purchases now.

Why Biden’s winning hand may be too late to boost his 2024 prospects

There is simply no question, by any objective standard, that Joe Biden is on a hot streak.

After many months of muddled messaging and plummeting polls, the president has pushed through a raft of important legislation, culminating with a sweeping climate change/health care/corporate taxes measure that will win final approval this week. Some of the bills passed with strong bipartisan support. And it’s been just over a week since the president announced that on his orders, a drone strike had killed the leader of al Qaeda.

But all this may have little impact on Biden’s attempt to rally his party behind him in seeking a second term. The media narrative against him – that he’s too old, too slow, and that most Democrats want a younger candidate – could be too powerful to alter, baked into the midterm cake.

That may be unfair to Biden, who now has a stronger slate of legislative accomplishments than any president in decades, but life is unfair. He would be 82 at the next inauguration and too many of his voters – along with Democratic lawmakers – seem ready to give him a gold watch and a hearty sendoff.

Imagine a football team that goes 2-7, with growing calls to fire the coach, and then wins its last 7 games to pull out a winning record. Does the strong finish erase the memory of its earlier awfulness?

Keep in mind that journalists worship polls. If Biden were suddenly to get a healthy bump, the media would start doing pieces about his comeback, easing fears among fellow Democrats that he will drag his party down in 2022 and be a weak candidate two years later. But without that short-term pop, the conventional wisdom remains that inflation (though Biden has brought down gas prices somewhat) will drive a sweeping Republican victory in November.

And then there’s the nature of the climate legislation itself, the dubiously named Inflation Reduction Act. Even Bernie Sanders says it will have a "minimal impact" on inflation.

The truth is it will take a while for ordinary folks to feel the effects of the $700-billion bill, and elections are won or lost in the short term.

The measure provides the greatest investment in climate change by a single country, but global warming won’t ease for years, and even the clean-energy funds will have to be awarded and workers hired before anyone’s life is improved.

As the Washington Post points out, the $7,500 credits for buying electric cars only happen if manufacturers displace Chinese batteries by 2024.

Allowing Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices is a long-sought goal, but that will also take some time. The $300 billion in deficit reduction is an important step, but for most Americans the deficit is an abstraction.

Meanwhile, some liberal Democrats can barely hide their dissatisfaction with Biden. In the case of two veteran House members running against each other in a New York district, Jerry Nadler said it’s too early to talk about 2024 and Carolyn Maloney said she doesn’t think Biden’s running (and then apologized by saying she’ll back him if he does but still doesn’t think he will). That is hardly the mark of a strong incumbent.

Rather than trying to hector him out of the race, Maureen Dowd used her New York Times column to appeal to Biden’s sense of history: "He could leave on a high, knowing that he has delivered on his promises for progress and restored decency to the White House."

Biden wasted months fighting for on a left-wing fantasy bill whose absurd price tag – $3.5 trillion – meant it would never come close to passing a 50-50 Senate. And while Republicans spent many hours trashing the new bill that they can’t stop because of reconciliation – just as Democrats did with the Trump tax cuts – it’s a far more moderate measure than would spend less than a quarter of the original measure.

Maybe this gives Biden a more solid platform to sell himself as worthy of four more years. But for now there’s a profound disconnect between Biden and his voters on whether the man who first ran for president in 1987 should make one last run.

Dozens of supporters of former President Donald Trump gathered outside his Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday, after it was raided by FBI agents who were allegedly looking for classified documents.

The protestors traveled to Palm Beach, Florida, after the former president released a statement about the raid. Sources close to the matter told Fox News that the DOJ was investigating whether Trump had illegally taken classified documents to his private residence.

Fox News Digital's Matt Leach spoke to several supporters who voiced their disapproval of the raid.

J.D. Kennon had traveled across the state of Florida to show support for the former president.

"As soon as I saw it, I drove here from Tampa. This is nuts," Kennon said. "We all know what you're trying to do, DOJ. You're trying to create some kind of charge so he's not going to be able to run for reelection."

Another Trump supporter, Mike Baffumo, expressed similar misgivings about the Justice Department.

"They're going to do anything they can to get him. They're terrified of him," Baffumo said. "And it's not because of any other reason than the policies that he supports: America First policies."

Supporters also objected to the raid happening when Trump was not on the premises - the former president was in New York City when agents executed the search warrant.

"What they're doing to the president is wrong. They don't investigate anything else, but they're going to investigate him when he's not even here in the dark in his home," a supporter named Ashley said.

Another pro-Trump protestor named Matthew agreed. "It's pretty sick what they're doing. They literally raided this man's home while he's in a different state."

Though many of the former president's supporters flocked to the estate, there were also a few opponents of the real estate mogul. One anti-Trump protestor showed up with vulgar messages written on his sign, mask and clothing.

While many criticized the search, at least one supporter had a positive takeaway from it.

"I think what it's going to do is it's going to bring the Republican Party together again," George Ford told Fox News.

As tributes poured in for the beloved actress who campaigned for cancer research and wellness, her longtime pal, Yvette Nipar, wrote she would "miss" Olivia forever after the pair formed the most unlikely bond searching for McDermott when he disappeared nearly 20 years ago.

"My sweet friend--I will miss you forever," she wrote while using the hashtag Olivia Newton John Forever. Nipar shared a photo from the annual Olivia Newton-John Wellness Walk and Research Run in Melbourne, Australia, in 2019, which benefits the cancer center she founded in 2012.

Their friendship, though, could have never flourished without Patrick McDermott. The cameraman, who was in an on-and-off relationship with Newton-John, was 48 years old when he was reported missing from an overnight fishing trip. McDermott, an avid angler, booked the solo trip on the "Freedom" boat out of the San Pedro harbor in Los Angeles on June 30, 2005, with 22 other passengers and crew members.

His belongings, including car keys, a passport and wallet, were found on the boat and his vehicle was recovered from the parking lot, and McDermott missed a family event on July 6, but it wasn't until July 11 when he was reported missing to authorities by his ex-wife, Yvette Nipar.

A subsequent Coast Guard investigation closed more than a year later after they "did not find any evidence of criminal action, suicide, accident or hoax in the disappearance of McDermott." A separate investigation "marine safety" investigation closed in October 2008 suggested that "McDermott was lost at sea."

McDermott had previously been married to Nipar for two years, and the former couple have one son, Chance. Reports at the time said he had money problems and owed $8,000 in outstanding payments on child support, and had filed for bankruptcy in 2000 with an additional $31,000 in debt.

Speculation mounted that McDermott faked his death, with conspiracy theorists claiming he was living a reclusive life in a fishing village in Mexico. Each allegation returned to be false.

During a 2006 interview with Larry King, Olivia admitted McDermott's missing person investigation brought her "close" to Nipar and their son.

"I've become very close to his ex-wife, Yvette, who's a wonderful person, and we've become good friends and I see his son, and he's thriving. He's doing really well," she told King.

Nipar, an actress whose roles include appearances on "21 Jump Street" and "RoboCop," posted on Instagram years later, "I’ll never forget her calling me from the green room right after this, knowing how protective I was of my son’s name constantly being "put out there." She had no idea Larry was going to ask this."

Newton-John told Australian Women’s Weekly magazine in 2009 that she'll never get over the trauma of losing McDermott. "I think there will always be a question mark … I don’t think I will ever really be at peace with it."

In 2012, Nipar campaigned for Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to stop selling a book promoting that McDermott was still alive.

"My son has been through enough emotional torment over this," Nipar wrote the billionaire about the "well-known serial liar" Philip Klein for his book, "Lost at Sea."

In 2016, Olivia told Australia's "60 Minutes" that McDermott "was lost at sea, and nobody really knows what happened."

"It’s human to wonder," she added. "But you know, those are the things in life you have to accept and let go. Because whenever you go through difficult times, there’s always those concerns."

Nipar, a former actress with credits on "General Hospital" and "Melrose Place," has shared social media posts that she's in the process of writing a book about the incident, titled, "What Are The Chances?"

She shared a photo with Newton-John in 2021 on Instagram and wrote, "What are the chances this gal & I would help each other get through one of the most bizarre and difficult times of our life? So #blessed to have you in my life."

Newton-John married John Easterling in 2008 on top of a mountain in Peru during an Incan spiritual wedding ceremony. They returned to Florida and made their union legal with a beachfront wedding on Jupiter Island.

Easterling founded Amazon Herb Company, and formulated a special blend of cannabis called "Olivia's Choice" for his wife, who was also an advocate for the plant medicine.

Newton-John died "peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends," her family shared on Monday.

"We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time. Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer."

The "Hopelessly Devoted to You" songstress was known just as much for her top hits, including "Physical" and "You're the One That I Want," as she was for her starring role alongside John Travolta in "Grease."

"Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the @onjfoundation," the family said.

"Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; nieces and nephews Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall."
