Riley Gaines shares 5 wellness tips she swears by as a new mom: 'Really powerful'

Riley Gaines, host of her podcast "The Riley Gaines Show," discussed in a recent episode how to make room for wellness even during life changes, and offered advice for others trying to stick to a routine.

"I don't see anything wrong with wanting to achieve the healthiest version of yourself no matter what stage of life you're in," said the former NCAA Division I swimmer, who gave birth to her first baby in September 2025.

Below are Gaines' top five tips for staying healthy as a new mom.

Focusing on health in the first 60 minutes after waking up helps ensure that your health doesn't get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list, according to Gaines.

Even with her background as a competitive swimmer, "there's just always something that needs to be done or there's something that somebody needs from you," she said.

Carving out an early-morning window of time helps with building a mental edge before the world begins making demands, according to Gaines.

"I love the concept of already doing so many things, so many hard things, before most people even hit snooze on their alarm clock," she said.

To make this sustainable, Gaines suggests a simple preparation: laying out your gear the night before. "That way, in the morning when you wake up, all you have to do is throw it on."

Many people struggle with the natural loss of muscle mass and energy as they age. Gaines said her approach to nutrition isn't about dieting in the traditional sense, but about providing the body with the "brick and mortar" it needs to stay durable.

She was quick to bust the common myth that high protein leads to an unwanted bulky appearance.

"It's not true, myth busted. It will keep you lean, you will feel fuller for longer."

Gaines' rule of thumb is to aim for 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight.

"If you don't have enough protein, then your body cannot effectively repair the tiny tears that happen during strength training, which is the good kind of damage that leads to stronger, more lean muscles," she said.

Gaines advocates for building a strong core through any movement, even during ordinary day-to-day activities.

"Every single time my car stops at a red light, I engage my core ... I contract and flex my abs," she said in the episode. "It's almost like you're training your muscles to contract without having to do the crunches or the planks or the sit ups."

Fitness is significantly harder when done in a vacuum, Gaines shared, noting that solo motivation "fades really, really fast," especially when life gets busy or energy is low.

She recommends finding an accountability partner, such as a spouse, friend, or family member, who can celebrate your wins and check in on your progress.

"Find something or someone or some way to keep you accountable," Gaines advised, noting that her family frequently works out together.

"Without consistency, you're just repeatedly starting over," Gaines warned.

"How many times have you guys said, '[the] diet starts Monday,' and maybe you make it to Wednesday, and then you're back ... You're really not doing anything, actually. You're confusing your body."

"It's consistency that builds discipline, which turns into confidence," Gaines added. "You stop negotiating with yourself and start identifying as someone who follows through."

FIRST ON FOX: SPLC’s legal woes grow as Jim Jordan fires latest salvo at left-wing group

FIRST ON FOX: The House Judiciary Committee escalated scrutiny of the Southern Poverty Law Center on Thursday, demanding documents from the nonprofit after a federal indictment alleged the group funneled millions in donor funds to extremist organizations.

Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, wrote in a letter first obtained by Fox News Digital to SPLC President Bryan Fair that the GOP-led committee was investigating any coordination between the SPLC and the Biden Department of Justice and FBI, both of which had used the left-wing nonprofit as a resource.

Jordan demanded a slate of documents from the SPLC by April 30, a request that comes after his Republican counterparts in the Senate also ramped up scrutiny of the SPLC and after Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche hinted at more possible indictments related to the group.

The intensifying investigations into the SPLC, expanding from the DOJ to now Congress, come after Jordan's committee previously investigated the group, saying it was known for "maligning several mainstream conservative and religious organizations as 'hate groups,'" such as Moms for Liberty and Turning Point USA, and that the Biden DOJ improperly used it for civil rights enforcement.

SPLC SAW REVENUE SURGE AFTER CHARLOTTESVILLE RALLY AS DOJ ALLEGES INFORMANT TIES

"Publicly available documents revealed how the Justice Department partnered closely with the SPLC during the Biden-Harris Administration, including scheduling regular meetings, giving the SPLC early access to federal law-enforcement data, and allowing SPLC employees to train federal prosecutors," Jordan wrote. "The new information about the SPLC alleged in the indictment only raises further questions."

Jordan also noted that a controversial internal memo originating from the FBI Richmond Field Office during Director Christopher Wray's tenure, which framed so-called radical-traditionalist Catholics as a group of people more prone to violent crime, used the SPLC as a source for its findings. The memo surfaced in 2023, with Wray later retracting it and saying it was an "appalling" breach of religious freedom.

Jordan's letter pointed out that the Richmond memo was among more than a dozen FBI documents that used the SPLC as a resource.

The DOJ on Tuesday charged the SPLC with several counts of wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank and conspiracy to commit money laundering, alleging the group defrauded donors for more than a decade.

Prosecutors said the nonprofit, which promotes its efforts to fight white supremacy, misled donors by using shell companies to mask how donor funds were used. More than $3 million was paid through the shell companies to informants who participated in activities involving the Ku Klux Klan and the neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement, among others, prosecutors alleged.

"The SPLC's paid informants ... engaged in the active promotion of racist groups at the same time that the SPLC was denouncing the same groups on its website," prosecutors wrote, noting one informant allegedly went so far as to help plan the 2017 "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

"Congress has an important interest in protecting Americans from extremist violence and criminal activity," Jordan wrote in his letter. "The Committee on the Judiciary has been conducting oversight of the Biden-Harris Administration’s close coordination with the SPLC on federal civil rights matters."

BIDEN DOJ SUBPOENAED JIM JORDAN'S PHONE RECORDS COVERING MORE THAN TWO YEARS

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday set its sights on a woman previously affiliated with the SPLC who was a federal judge and Biden appointee serving a lifetime appointment on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

"Every individual associated with SPLC should have to answer for what they knew about the organization's extremist ties, and when," committee Republicans wrote in a statement on X. "That includes Nancy Abudu, SPLC's former litigation director who Biden appointed as a lifetime judge on the 11th Circuit."

Just before the DOJ announced charges, Fair said in a public statement that the federal investigation was political rather than sincere.

"They have made no secret of who they want to protect and who they want to destroy," Fair said, noting the group no longer works with paid informants but said they had "risked their lives" to infiltrate extremist groups.

Fox News Digital reached out to the SPLC and Abudu's chambers for comment.

Fox News Poll: Modest boost in support for Iran conflict, but concerns persist

As the war in Iran nears the two-month mark, a new Fox News Poll shows a modest uptick in support, though voters remain divided on key aspects of the conflict – especially over its long-term consequences and U.S. safety.

The survey, released Thursday, shows support for the current military action in Iran at 45%, up from 42% support last month. A majority of 55% oppose it.

Still, a slim majority thinks things are going well in Iran (51% well vs. 49% not well), a flip from March when voters said the action was not going well (47% vs. 52%).

The bump in support for the war can be mostly attributed to non-MAGA Republicans (+11 points in support), Hispanic voters (+10), men over age 45 (+8), and independents (+5).

Looking at the likely effect on security, voters still narrowly say the action will make the U.S. less safe (36% safer, 39% less safe, 25% no difference). However, this gap has narrowed since March (33%, 44%, 23% respectively).

Voters are also not convinced the costs of the war are worth it. A 57% majority believes the action will not improve U.S. safety enough to justify the problems it has created, while 43% say the short-term problems will be worth it in the long run.

Although voters across the board express skepticism, partisan differences are stark. Roughly 3 in 10 Republicans, 7 in 10 independents, and 8 in 10 Democrats, think improved safety does not justify the challenges.

The most important objectives for voters are avoiding a prolonged conflict and keeping the Strait of Hormuz open (80% say it is extremely or very important for each). Majorities also think it’s extremely or very important to end Iran's nuclear weapons program (72%), support the people of Iran (65%) and bring about changes to Iran's government (55%).

The top objective for Democrats and independents is avoiding a prolonged conflict, while for Republicans it’s ending Iran’s nuclear program.

Six in 10 (59%) rate the performance of the U.S. military in the conflict as excellent (32%) or good (27%), about where sentiment was last month (58% excellent/good).

More than 5 in 10 independents (53%) and 8 in 10 Republicans (81%) rate the military positively, while just 4 in 10 Democrats agree (40%).

"One of the more remarkable statistics attesting to the country’s intense polarization is that when asked about the U.S. military’s performance in Iran, by 20 percentage points Democrats rate it negatively, and it’s difficult to proffer an explanation other than those who dislike President Trump are unwilling to say anything positive about anything he touches," says Republican pollster Daron Shaw, who works on Fox News polls with Democrat Chris Anderson.

Among those who have served in the military, support for the current action in Iran has dipped slightly (down 4 points since March), but a majority still supports it (57%), thinks things are going well (65%), rates the military positively (78% excellent/good) and half think the military action will make the U.S. safer (50%).

Trump said Tuesday the U.S. will extend its ceasefire with Iran, a day before it was set to end and amid a U.S. blockade on Iranian ports. This comes as peace talks in Pakistan involving Vice President JD Vance were delayed as Iran has not committed to participating yet. The survey was conducted April 17-20.

When asked to rate how tough Trump has been on Iran, more voters say he’s been too tough (40%), rather than not tough enough (28%) or about right (30%).

The 40% saying Trump is too tough is up from 18% in May 2019 (the last time the question was asked) – mainly driven by Democrats and independents thinking he’s too tough now.

When it comes to the president’s approach to China, however, results are reversed: 21% say he’s too tough, 40% not tough enough, and 38% about right.

More broadly, Trump’s job performance on foreign policy is underwater by 20 points (40% approve, 60% disapprove). He does slightly better on his handling of China (42%, 57%) but worse on Iran (37%, 63%).

His overall job rating sits at 42% approve and 58% disapprove, about where it was last month (41%-59%).

Some Cabinet officials are also facing headwinds in their job performance. Vance's net approval rating is -11 points (44% approve - 55% disapprove) and down from -8 in December.

Sec. of State Rubio’s net approval rating is -12, down from -5, which is the steepest decline in the Cabinet (44% approve, 56% disapprove).

Sec. of War Hegseth’s rating ticked up 2 points to -17, but he remains the lowest rated of the three (41% approve, 58% disapprove).

Iran is not the only foreign policy issue where voters are divided. They are split on U.S. support of Israel, as 40% say it’s too supportive, another 40% about right, and 19% say not supportive enough.

At 40%, the share saying the U.S. is too supportive is the highest since 2023, up from 35% the last time the question was asked in September 2025.

Democrats under age 45 (+9 points saying too supportive since 2025) and Republicans under age 45 (+7), are increasingly more likely to feel the U.S. is too supportive of Israel. Republicans ages 45+ have the highest share of those who think support is about right (70%) while Democrats ages 45+ say too supportive (57%).

The largest share of Protestants (45%), Catholics (44%), and White Catholics (48%) say support is about right.

On Ukraine, 39% of voters say the U.S. should be doing more to support them against Russia, 26% say less and 34% feel the U.S. is doing the right amount. This is close to where sentiment has been since last summer.

One more thing…

Trump is a frequent poster on social media, and a majority of voters see these posts as instant reactions to current events (65%) rather than strategic efforts to accomplish goals (34%).

Still, the number viewing them as strategic is up 15 points since 2018, when only 19% said his tweeting had a broader purpose. At that time, 28% of Republicans felt his tweeting was strategic compared to the 52% who feel that way about his social media posts today. That compares with smaller increases among independents (+13 points) and Democrats (+4).

Conducted April 17-20, 2026, under the direction of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R), this Fox News survey includes interviews with a sample of 1,001 registered voters randomly selected from a national voter file. Respondents spoke with live interviewers on landlines (116) and cellphones (635) or completed the survey online after receiving a text (250). Results based on the full sample have a margin of sampling error of ±3 percentage points. Sampling error for results among subgroups is higher. In addition to sampling error, question wording and order can influence results. Weights are generally applied to age, race, education, and area variables to ensure the demographics are representative of the registered voter population. Fox News Poll: Voters see AI as a risk to privacy and paychecks

As artificial intelligence grabs headlines and stirs debate, the latest Fox News Poll finds most voters see it as a threat to privacy and jobs, contributing to a largely negative impression overall.

The survey, released Thursday, finds voters think AI mostly hurts rather than helps key aspects of life, whether on a personal, national, or global scale.

Voters have negative views on AI by 50 points when it comes to privacy (63% hurts, 13% helps), by 35 points on U.S. job creation (56-21), by 15 points on the national economy (42-27), by 5 points on people’s daily lives (38-33), and by 4 points on their own personal lives (30-26).

The only area where people think AI mainly helps rather than hurts is U.S. competitiveness with other countries: 38% think it helps while 32% view it as harmful.

Still, sizable minorities feel AI doesn’t make a difference in each category: 43% feel it makes no difference in their personal life, 30% in the economy, 29% global competitiveness, 28% people’s daily lives, 23% people’s privacy, and 21% job creation.

By double-digits, Democrats and independents are more likely to say AI hurts rather than helps in each area.

While the level of negativity varies, more voters under age 30 say AI hurts than helps in every category listed. Voters age 65 and over also view AI technology as more hurtful except when it comes to global competitiveness, where they give it the benefit of the doubt.

Viewing the new technology as harmful leads to an overall negative opinion of AI, with 43% having a favorable opinion vs. 54% unfavorable.

Those who view it positively include voters in households with $100,000 or more income (54% favorable), Republicans (53%), Republicans who identify as MAGA (57%), and Catholics (52%).

Some of the biggest drivers of AI pessimism are independents (64% unfavorable), Democrats (61%), and women without a college degree (60%).

One more thing…

When asked which political party would better handle artificial intelligence, voters are closely divided: 51% say the Democrats vs. 46% the Republicans. The results are within the margin of error, indicating no clear advantage for either party.

Part of the Democrats’ edge comes from a majority of independents backing them over their GOP counterparts (54% to 46%) and more than 1 in 10 self-identified Republicans defecting as well (13% D, 84% R).

Megan Rapinoe calls on traditional WNBA media to be replaced with those who ‘understand queer culture’

It's always about identity politics for Megan Rapinoe. She's true to her craft.

Flying solo on the latest episode of the "A Touch More" podcast — the show she formerly co-hosted with ex-girlfriend Sue Bird — Rapinoe attacked WNBA media members as out-of-touch and "inherently sexist, racist [and] misogynistic." That was in response to a question recently presented to Azzi Fudd, who was taken as the No. 1 pick in the WNBA, about her dating status. Fudd is in a relationship with Dallas Wings teammate Paige Bueckers.

Rapinoe says she didn't have a problem with Kevin Sherrington, a white columnist from the Dallas Morning News, asking Fudd about the relationship, but at the same time she called on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to be used to rebuild the WNBA media corps.

"I do think we are watching legacy or establishment media come in and sort of like do business as usual and it just feels like it needs more understanding and nuance," Rapinoe said of WNBA reporters who are covering the league like it's the NBA. "Like it's not quite hitting. I think anybody who's been in the sport a long time just sort of has that feeling of like that's like, I, I get why you're doing that. You do that (with) men's sports, but like it's not really quite hitting here."

What's the solution? Replace the traditional media with woke media.

"So how do we contribute to an ecosystem that can sustain player authenticity?"

The 40-year-old retired soccer player is calling on the WNBA to bring in PR teams, managers, agents and "media members that can understand queer culture and that have an imagination around how to give these players media platforms that work for them."

Instead of having the players answer tough questions here and there, Rapinoe wants these new queer-friendly reporters and PR teams to create "talking points that protect" WNBA players "while also allowing them to be out and proud and not make them feel unsafe."

Epstein fallout grows as DOJ watchdog digs deeper into handling of the case

The Justice Department’s (DOJ) internal watchdog is investigating whether the agency properly handled the release of records tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, amid concerns it may have failed to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Deputy Inspector General William M. Blier announced Thursday that his office will audit "the DOJ’s identification, collection, and production of responsive material," focusing on whether the department fully complied with the Epstein Files Transparency Act — a law requiring the public release of certain Epstein-related records, including materials tied to his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

The audit centers on whether the DOJ withheld documents covered under the law, raising new questions about transparency in one of the most high-profile criminal cases in recent history.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed in November, followed mounting pressure on the DOJ to release additional information related to Epstein, including materials officials previously indicated were under review. The law requires the department to identify and disclose responsive records to the public.

"If circumstances warrant, the OIG will consider addressing other issues that may arise during the course of the audit," the inspector general said in a statement, adding that a public report will be issued at the conclusion of the review.

The DOJ did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The investigation comes amid broader scrutiny of the DOJ’s handling of Epstein-related disclosures and internal leadership changes at the department. Former Attorney General Pam Bondi was fired earlier this month, following public frustration over the pace and scope of document releases tied to the Epstein case.

'SEPARATED FROM REALITY': SENATE REPUBLICANS FUME AS DEMS USE EPSTEIN SAGA TO BLOCK TRUMP'S AGENDA

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, however, pushed back on suggestions that Bondi's firing was tied to the Epstein files during an episode of "Jesse Watters Primetime."

"I have never heard President Trump say that the attorney general was — that anything that happened to her — had anything to do with the Epstein files," Blanche said.

"What happened when the president signed the Transparency Act is the Department of Justice has now released all the files with respect to the Epstein saga… Attorney General Bondi and I appeared in front of Congress voluntarily a couple weeks ago to answer any questions they had," he told Fox News. "We have made every single congressman, senator available to come and see any document redacted, unredacted."

And according to The Athletic, Steinbrenner and others in the front office will decide when the time is right based on some factors.

The outlet noted that economic impact, how often they'll be worn, and how fans feel about the jerseys will all be key considerations in deciding if, and perhaps when, the jerseys will be worn.

Federal authorities on Thursday announced a sweeping takedown of suspected Mexican Mafia members and associates in Southern California, charging 43 defendants in a wide-ranging case involving murder, kidnapping, drug trafficking and extortion for allegedly turning Orange County into a "Gangsta's Paradise."

The suspects were arrested in coordinated raids, with others already in custody expected to face federal charges in the coming weeks, according to prosecutors.

Investigators say the case pulls back the curtain on how the notorious "La Eme" prison gang allegedly continued to run street-level crime from inside prison walls, using contraband cellphones and encrypted messaging to direct violence and drug operations on the outside.

"Gang members who murder, extort, kidnap and traffic drugs are a menace to our communities and our way of life," First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said, pointing to what officials described as a sustained effort to dismantle organized crime both inside prisons and on the streets.

At the center of the case is alleged gang leader Luis "Pops" Cardenas, who prosecutors say oversaw operations in Orange County from prison, issuing orders to trusted associates including Jaime "Junior" Alvarado, Karina Cesena and Mario "Happy" Flores.

Those associates are accused of carrying out kidnappings, assaults and drug trafficking, as well as overseeing stash locations, gang-controlled motels and illegal gambling operations tied to the enterprise.

Authorities say violence played a key role in maintaining control.

In one case outlined by prosecutors, two men allegedly killed a victim at an Anaheim motel in 2025 in an effort to gain status within the gang. Both defendants could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted.

The indictment also alleges gang members kidnapped and assaulted individuals who fell out of favor, including a 2025 attack tied to a gambling operation in Stanton.

FBI Director Kash Patel described the organization as a "ruthless criminal enterprise" that operated across prison walls and neighborhood streets.

"These defendants allegedly ran a criminal network that murdered, kidnapped, extorted and flooded our communities with deadly drugs," Patel said. "The FBI will never stop working alongside our law enforcement partners to hold these individuals accountable and protect the people of California."

During the investigation, authorities seized large quantities of narcotics and weapons, including nearly nine pounds of fentanyl, roughly 120 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as heroin, cocaine and 25 firearms.

Officials say the drugs were distributed through a network of dealers and so-called "slap houses," illegal gambling sites that also functioned as hubs for narcotics sales.

Federal agents also tracked the group’s finances, targeting the flow of money tied to suspected drug trafficking and extortion schemes.

"By tracing and dismantling these financial pipelines, we cut directly into the organization’s ability to operate," said IRS Criminal Investigation official Darren Lian.

Local law enforcement leaders said the arrests should send a clear message.

Anaheim Police Chief Manny Cid said the alleged activity had a direct impact on neighborhoods, while Santa Ana Police Chief Robert Rodriguez said authorities will continue to target those who threaten public safety.

Dozens of defendants are expected to appear in federal court in Los Angeles and Santa Ana, with many facing decades in prison or life sentences if convicted.

NTSB report details how controller decision and tech failures led to deadly runway collision

A new federal report reveals that multiple layers of safety failed in the seconds before a deadly runway collision last month at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, including air traffic control decisions, communication breakdowns and technology limitations.

On March 22, at about 11:37 p.m., Jazz Aviation Flight 646, operating as Air Canada Flight 8646, collided with an airport rescue vehicle while landing at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, killing both pilots and injuring dozens of others, according to the report.

The National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) preliminary report released Thursday found that an air traffic control tower’s local controller, referred to in the report as the "LC," cleared an airport rescue vehicle to cross an active runway even as a regional jet was on a short final approach.

At the time, the plane was about a quarter-mile from the runway and roughly 130 feet above the ground as it descended toward landing.

Seconds later, the controller instructed the vehicle to stop, but the warning came too late as the aircraft touched down and continued down the runway.

Investigators pointed to confusion over radio communications that may have delayed the truck crew’s response.

"The turret operator in Truck 1 recalled hearing the words ‘stop stop stop’ (on the tower frequency) radio, but he did not know who that transmission was intended for," the report states. "He subsequently heard ‘Truck 1 stop stop stop’ and realized it was for them and subsequently noticed that they had entered the runway.

"He further recalled that as they turned left, he saw the airplane’s lights on the runway," the report added.

There were two controllers on duty at the time of the crash, consistent with normal staffing levels, and both were experienced and qualified for their positions.

But the tower was handling multiple issues simultaneously, including an aircraft that had performed two rejected takeoffs and a separate ground emergency near a terminal.

As the situation unfolded, the "LC" took over transmitting instructions on both ground and tower frequencies.

The report also highlights significant limitations in the airport’s safety systems.

The airport’s surface detection system, known as ASDE-X, is designed to track aircraft and ground vehicles and alert controllers to potential runway conflicts.

"At the time of the accident, ASDE-X displayed only two radar targets on taxiway D (near taxiway BB), rather than all seven of the response vehicles as distinct targets at their respective locations.

"A review of the ASDE-X system data by the FAA determined that the system did not generate an aural or visual alert on the ASDE-X displays in the LGA ATC tower to warn controllers of the potential runway conflict."

The NTSB also found that another layer of protection failed to prevent the crash.

Runway entrance lights, known as RELs, are designed to warn vehicles not to cross when an aircraft is approaching.

"A review of airport surveillance video recordings revealed that the RELs illuminated for the arrival of the accident airplane, as Truck 1 and company were stationary in the vicinity of the taxiway AA and taxiway D intersection," the report said, noting the trucks were located about 300 feet away from runway 4.

"The RELs on taxiway D remained illuminated until about the time Truck 1 reached the (near) edge of runway, when they extinguished, about 3 seconds prior to the collision."

The report does not indicate whether the truck crew saw or reacted to the warning lights.

Taken together, investigators suggest the crash was not caused by a single error, but by a breakdown across multiple safeguards — including human decision-making, communication clarity and technological support systems.

The collision killed both pilots aboard the aircraft and injured dozens of passengers and emergency responders.

The report describes a chaotic but ultimately orderly evacuation after the crash.

"The aft flight attendant reported getting in the aft jump seat for landing and described the flight as normal until he felt an impact and jar," the report read. "He did not know what had happened and attempted to call the pilots and received no response. He reported the conditions were dark, but passengers deplaned orderly through all exits."

Investigators said the debris field was roughly 300 feet long and 150 feet wide and was documented using drone imaging, GPS mapping and laser scanning technology.

The preliminary investigation also found that the most severe damage was concentrated at the front of the aircraft, with the cockpit and forward cabin sustaining significant structural destruction.

The report found that while the forward section was heavily crushed, the passenger cabin remained largely intact, with most seats still secured and only minor damage reported throughout much of the aircraft.

The NTSB said the information in the report is preliminary and subject to change.

Tensions escalated in the Strait of Hormuz April 22 after Iran’s IRGC seized two vessels in what analysts describe as "tit-for-tat" retaliation against the U.S. And one ship is linked to a billionaire shipping family tied to Presidents Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron.

Video aired on Iranian state TV purportedly shows IRGC soldiers seizing the container ships in the Strait, Reuters said Thursday.

One vessel, the MSC Francesca, is owned by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, which was founded by Italian billionaire Gianluigi Aponte and is now controlled by his two children, Fox News Digital has learned.

"Some 20 Iranians armed to the teeth stormed the ship. Sailors are under Iranian control, their movements on the ship are limited but the Iranians are treating them well," a relative of one of the MSC Francesca seafarers told Reuters.

Maritime intelligence firm Windward AI pointed to IRGC "tit-for-tat" tactics given the recent MSC vessel seizure.

This followed a U.S. naval blockade imposed on April 13, with Tehran warning of retaliation after U.S. forces also seized an Iranian vessel.

"The IRGC attacked three ships. It also captured and took in two of them — the MSC Francesca and the Epaminondas — while the Euphoria managed to get away," Windward AI co-founder Ami Daniel told Fox News Digital.

Diego Aponte, Gianluigi’s son, had been making "inroads with Trump’s circle," Bloomberg reported April 13.

He also helped arrange a November 2025 White House meeting with Swiss business leaders that led to a preliminary deal to reduce the 39% tariffs imposed on Switzerland over the summer.

Four crew members, including the captain, are from Montenegro, officials said, while Croatia’s foreign ministry confirmed two Croatian nationals are also aboard.

MSC declined to comment, Reuters confirmed.

The IRGC Navy claimed both vessels captured "were operating without the necessary permits."

According to Lloyd’s List, the 2008-built MSC Francesca "normally operates in service between the U.S. West Coast, Asia and the Middle East Gulf."

A Florida man accused of gunning down a couple execution-style in front of their 3-year-old child is behind bars, marking a breakthrough in a cold case that has left a family reeling for more than three decades.

William Antonio Solis, 62, was arrested by federal authorities in Tampa on Wednesday, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

"For more than 30 years, this Bronx double murder has haunted a family and the people of New York," U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton said in a statement. "That ends today."

Solis, who also operated under the names "La Vega" and "Vegano," is charged with intentional killing while engaged in a narcotics conspiracy stemming from the killings of Luis Guerrero and his wife Danis Sime in New York City, federal prosecutors said.

Authorities allege on July 21, 1993, Solis and two co-conspirators plotted a robbery of Guerrero, a narcotics supplier, at his Bronx apartment.

After Solis and the co-conspirators entered the residence, they allegedly bound Guerrero, stole his drugs and lured Sime into the apartment to restrain her as well, prosecutors said.

At the time of the alleged murders, the couple’s young son told police that a man had pointed a gun at his mother, covered her head with a pillowcase and "took her away," according to the New York Daily News.

Neighbors reportedly found the child crying for his parents outside the apartment complex.

"He was screaming, ‘Daddy, Daddy,’" neighbor Chris Anton previously told the outlet. "He was scared."

"I tried to ask [the boy] some questions and all he would say was, 'El Otro took his mother and put a cover over her head," Anton reportedly added. "I bought him pizza, ice cream – anything he wanted."

At the time of the alleged murders, police were reportedly investigating Guerrero’s possible drug connection, with neighbors telling the New York Daily News the couple were "nice, quiet people" and "never bothered anyone."

If convicted, Solis faces the possibility of the death penalty or life in prison, according to the DOJ.

"This arrest is the result of years of meticulous investigative work by dedicated special agents and task force officers who refused to let this case go cold," Alfonso added.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The NFL Draft continues to be one of the worst 'sporting events' of the year

The 2026 NFL Draft starts on Thursday evening in Pittsburgh, and just as it always is, it’s going to be some of the most boring television of the year.

That might sound like sacrilege, because the NFL is beyond criticism for many sports fans, but the draft is the ideal example of what the league has become and the importance of gambling to modern audiences.

For most "sporting events" there’s some assumption of competition, a reasonable belief that there will be action once every 20-30 seconds, and something worth watching in person.

The NFL Draft is none of those things.

TRADES COULD SAVE NFL DRAF, WHICH LACKS MULTIPLE FRANCHISE QB AND POLARIZING PLAYERS, FROM BEING A YAWNER

Instead, we're "treated" to a three day-long press conference, stretched out beyond any and all possible justification in order to get television ratings. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell walks out, gets booed, rinse and repeat. And the fact that people pay money to stand around for four hours, or more, to watch a press conference is a remarkable testament to sports fans’ willingness to be bored as long as football is tangentially involved.

One of the simplest ways to understand how absurd the NFL’s dominance has become is that nearly 14 million people tuned in to watch the draft in 2025. Hours upon hours of "analysts" repeating themselves with every player.

So and so has a great "wingspan." This player runs a good 40-yard dash. Another one put some quality reps on "tape." Such and such has a high "motor." It’s mind-boggling that 14 million people are willing to subject themselves to this, all while claiming other sports are "boring."

This is one of the most watched television events of the year. To see players announced and introduced after 10 minutes of pointless waiting and camera shots of team executives sitting around a table looking at laptops before clapping after every decision.

It’s abundantly clear that gambling plays a huge role in this, as prediction markets and widespread sports betting apps have made anything "exciting" because there’s money involved.

Then there’s the other side of it, while many NFL draft picks do pan out, even in the first round, there’s a significant number who never pan out. In the 2021 NFL Draft, for example, five years later, busts include Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Mac Jones, Jaycee Horn, and Caleb Farley. There were stars to come out of that first round, like Ja’Marr Chase and Micah Parsons. But again, this is the first round. Not the second and third day. Second and third day! My goodness. 257 picks, and it takes three days, an endless slog of interminable hours to get through. How does anyone tolerate this?

The NFL Draft is the best example of how the league has weaponized the importance of gambling to become the country’s most popular sport. More people will watch a press conference, because they have money on it, than a playoff game in another sport where things actually happen and there are important stakes.

We don’t have to pretend the draft is worth watching. We just don’t. You can follow along on a website while watching actual sports. Or doing literally anything else. And you'll have the same experience, while avoiding the boredom and repetition of the worst "sporting event" of the year.

Biological male killer housed in Oregon women's prison wins high-dollar legal settlement in sex abuse suit

A convicted killer who transitioned from male to female while in prison was awarded a large settlement with the Oregon Department of Corrections after a lawsuit claiming abuse by staff while housed in a male prison.

Zera Lola Zombie, a biological male who has been housed in the women's Coffee Creek Correctional Facility since April 2025, won the $295,000 settlement stemming from the 2021 lawsuit, according to The Oregonian.

Zombie, whose birth name was Daniel Lee Smith, was convicted of first-degree manslaughter after pleading guilty to beating a girlfriend, Samantha Lee Brown, to death in 2014. Zombie received 20 years in prison for the killing and 15 more years for a first-degree assault after a violent attack on a fellow inmate. Zombie won't be released from prison until 2049.

The Oregonian reported that Zombie came out as transgender in 2020, and began taking sex change hormones. In 2022, Zombie began the process of seeking a sex change surgery in prison.

According to the report, Zombie will receive $95,000 from the settlement, while Zombie's attorneys will receive $200,000 to cover their fees.

The claim said Zombie was discriminated against based on gender, that officials broke the law by housing a female in a male prison, said they failed to "follow both federal and Oregon rules and laws concerning the designation and protection of plaintiff as a Vulnerable Adult-In-Custody ... at high risk for both physical and sexual assault," housed an inmate with a known sexual predator, refused to provide legally-mandated counseling and failed to report the sexual assaults per Oregon and federal law.

In 2023, a judge designated Zombie as a vulnerable person, forcing the prison to allow Zombie to live in a single-person cell.

"On this record, it is not at all clear that, without the Court’s intervention, defendants will refrain from placing plaintiff in a cell with an inmate known to be a sex offender, or that defendants will designate plaintiff as a vulnerable inmate," said an order written by United States District Court Judge Ann Aiken. "Plaintiff need not await another assault before obtaining preventative relief."

A spokesperson for the Oregon Department of Corrections told The Oregonian that it is committed to ending sexual assaults in its prisons.

"While we cannot comment on specifics of litigation, we take all allegations of sexual assault seriously and are committed to addressing them thoroughly and responsibility, a spokesperson for the Oregon Department of Corrections told Fox News Digital. "We uphold our duty to protect those in our custody, guided by a zero-tolerance policy for sexual abuse and harassment. Prevention remains a priority, and we are dedicated to eliminating sexual assault and misconduct in Oregon's correctional facilities."

Zombie's attorney, John Burgess, did not return a request for comment.

A Guatemalan man living illegally in the U.S. has been arrested by federal immigration agents after he was released from jail by Virginia authorities, despite being charged with possessing child pornography, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Roni Mendez-Escobar was arrested Wednesday in Fairfax County, which has drawn national media attention amid a series of crimes committed by illegal immigrants there in recent months.

"This sicko has been charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography and possession of child pornography with intent to distribute. Despite these heinous crimes, sanctuary politicians in Fairfax County, Virginia, refused to honor ICE’s detainer and released a child predator from jail without notifying ICE," DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said Thursday.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer with Fairfax County, but it was ignored and he was released days after his arrest without ICE being notified, DHS said.

Mendez-Escobar, who had been deported from the U.S. three times since 2015, entered illegally for a fourth time at an unknown place and date, authorities said.

In March, Anibal Armando Chavarria Muy, also from Guatemala, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after fatally stabbing a man inside his home.

Abdul Jalloh, an illegal immigrant from Sierra Leone with a long criminal history including more than 30 arrests, was charged with murder after fatally stabbing Stephanie Minter at a bus stop.

This week, Israel Flores Ortiz, 18, was sentenced to 360 days in jail after being convicted of groping several female classmates in Fairfax High School hallways earlier this year.

Joe Rogan on Tuesday discussed his appearance at the White House this week, addressing backlash from critics and clarifying what actually happened during his interactions with President Donald Trump.

"People are pissed because I was at the White House?" Rogan asked comedian Luis J. Gomez during Tuesday's episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" after Gomez noted some were criticizing Rogan online.

"They’re like, ‘Yo, Joe, you can’t be at the f---ing White House, Joe. You said you were f---ing politically homeless,’" Gomez said.

"I am," Rogan said. "He [Trump] joked about it. He called me a liberal during the whole thing. He's like [Rogan doing Trump voice], "Joe, he's very liberal."

Rogan also pushed back on claims that Trump confronted him at a UFC event, saying the narrative circulating online was inaccurate.

"It was literally the opposite," Rogan said. "He came to me, and he said, ‘It’s done. We’re going to take care of this. It’s a good thing for the soldiers, good thing for everybody.’"

Rogan said the interaction stemmed from his advocacy for ibogaine, a plant-based psychedelic he argued has shown effectiveness in treating addiction and PTSD, particularly among veterans.

"I told him about it. I told him how effective it is," Rogan said. "And I said it’s been held up for so long."

Rogan also criticized federal drug policy, arguing that current classifications are inconsistent and rooted in political decisions rather than medical evidence.

"These drugs are not illegal because they’re harmful," Rogan said. "Alcohol is harmful. It’s legal. Oxycodone is harmful. It’s legal.

"They’re illegal because of the 1970s Controlled Substances Act. They wanted to silence the anti-war people and the civil rights people."

Rogan also emphasized caution, even while acknowledging the potential benefits of psychedelic treatments under controlled conditions.

"I think it should be regulated, make sure it’s pure and make sure that it’s administered by people who know what they’re doing," Rogan said.

"You can’t do it if you have a bad heart. Apparently it’s really rough," Rogan said. "But the people that I know that have done it, it’s rescued them."

Rogan reflected on broader questions of legality of alcohol and personal choice when it comes to substances.

Sydney Sweeney was set to appear in "The Devil Wears Prada 2," but her cameo was ultimately left on the cutting room floor.

The 28-year-old actress fueled speculation that she was involved in the highly anticipated sequel to the hit 2006 comedy-drama when she was spotted on the set of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" in New York City last summer.

In a report published by Entertainment Weekly Tuesday, a source said the "Euphoria" star filmed a short scene for the movie that was slated to appear near the beginning of the movie, but a "creative decision" was later made to remove it.

The three-minute scene unfolded at Dior’s U.S. headquarters in New York, where Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) and Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci) seek Charlton's help.

The group then discovers Charlton, now a high-powered executive running Dior's U.S. operations, in the middle of styling Sweeney.

However, the source told Entertainment Weekly the team behind "The Devil Wears Prada 2" determined that Sweeney's scene did not fit structurally within the sequence. The insider added that the filmmakers were appreciative of Sweeney’s participation and found the decision to cut the scene a difficult one.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Sweeney and Disney for comment.

In August 2025, a woman clad in a blue hoodie and sweatpants, who was widely reported to be Sweeney, was photographed on the film's Manhattan set, igniting speculation that the "Anyone But You" star was taking part in the project.

At the time, Sweeney was facing a wave of backlash over her controversial jeans campaign for American Eagle. Months later, Sweeney shut down a question about the sighting on the sequel's set and her potential involvement in "The Devil Wears Prada 2."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Sweeney told Screen Rant during a November 2025 interview.

During an appearance on Sky News Australia's "The Rita Panahi Show," Kinsey Schofield shared her opinion that the decision to axe Sweeney's cameo may have been politically motivated.

While speaking with the "Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered" host and royal expert, Panahi questioned whether the team behind "The Devil Wears Prada 2" could have decided to cut the scene due to the blowback she faced over her American Eagle ads.

"I suspect it has more to do with the overall rumor that Sweeney is a conservative, which is not a very popular club in Hollywood or in the fashion industry," Schofield said.

"But the studio claims that it's just story-related editing," she continued. "Films get reshaped in post-production all the time, and smaller roles are usually the first to end up on the cutting room floor.

"But Sydney is a bankable name right now, and, so, if anything, I hope it was about story structure and not some sort of punishment."

Sweeney's voter registration surfaced in August 2025 at the height of the American Eagle controversy. Since June 2024, the actress has been registered with the Republican Party of Florida in Monroe County, the New York Post reported, citing public voter records.

In January, Sweeney addressed being branded the "MAGA Barbie," noting that she didn't understand the label since she's never spoken out publicly about her political beliefs.

For Cosmopolitan's January cover issue, Sweeney spoke to the magazine about how people use her as a "pawn" since she will not discuss politics openly and said people label her how they see fit.

"I’ve never been here to talk about politics. I’ve always been here to make art, so this is just not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of. And I think because of that, people want to take it even further and use me as their own pawn. But it’s somebody else assigning something to me, and I can’t control that," Sweeney said.

Upon being asked why she wouldn't correct those fans who associate her with President Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" fan base, the "The Housemaid" star said there's "no winning" when it comes to internet opinions.

"I haven’t figured it out. I’m not a hateful person. If I say, 'That’s not true,' they’ll come at me like, 'You’re just saying that to look better,'" Sweeney explained.

"There’s no winning. There’s never any winning. I just have to continue being who I am, because I know who I am. I can’t make everyone love me. I know what I stand for."

Sweeney doubled down and said the world will never know her political beliefs because she doesn't consider herself a "political person."

"I'm not a political person. I’m in the arts. I’m not here to speak on politics. That’s not an area I’ve ever even imagined getting into," she said.

"It’s not why I became who I am. I became an actor because I like to tell stories, but I don’t believe in hate in any form. I believe we should all love each other and have respect and understanding for one another."

Sweeney is starring in Season 3 of "Euphoria," which premiered April 12 on HBO.

FBI Director Kash Patel, New York Times clash over paper's claim its reporter was 'investigated'

The New York Times and the FBI have had a war of words after "The Gray Lady" accused the agency of investigating one of its reporters, something the FBI firmly denies.

"The FBI began investigating a New York Times reporter last month after she wrote about the bureau’s director, Kash Patel, using bureau personnel to provide his girlfriend with government security and transportation, according to a person briefed on the matter," the Times began a report Wednesday.

Times reporter Elizabeth Williamson wrote in late February that Patel's girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins, had beefed-up security, including SWAT teams escorting her on her travels.

At the time, FBI spokesman Ben Williamson (no relation to Elizabeth) told the paper Wilkins needed the security detail since, "as a direct result of her relationship with Director Patel, she is facing more than a dozen active death threats."

In Wednesday's report, the Times alleged, "Agents interviewed the girlfriend, queried databases for information on the reporter, Elizabeth Williamson, and recommended moving forward to determine whether Ms. Williamson broke federal stalking laws, the person said.

"Those actions prompted concerns among some Justice Department officials who saw the inquiry as retaliation for an article that Mr. Patel and his girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, did not like, and who determined there was no legal basis to proceed with the investigation, according to the person briefed on the matter."

New York Times executive editor Joe Kahn issued a statement, saying, "The FBI's attempt to criminalize routine reporting is a blatant violation of Elizabeth’s First Amendment rights and another attempt by this administration to prevent journalists from scrutinizing its actions. It’s alarming. It’s unconstitutional. And it’s wrong."

Ben Williamson of the FBI told the Times the accusation was "false," adding, "While investigators were concerned about how the aggressive reporting techniques crossed lines of stalking, no further action regarding [Elizabeth] Williamson or the reporting was ever pursued by the FBI."

Patel advisor Erica Knight also pushed back against the allegation as the report went viral.

"Here's what actually happened: A man threatened to have Alexis Wilkins' face 'canoed by an assault rifle' after reading Williamson's article," Knight wrote.

"FBI agents interviewed Alexis about the threat. They asked her about Williamson because Williamson's reporting is what set the defendant off. That is basic victim interview work in a threat case. Williamson was never personally investigated. NYT was told all of this multiple times.

"The individual who made the threats told the FBI his threats stemmed from the article penned by Ms. Williamson. This individual has been arrested and charged."

Patel denied the allegation during his appearance on "Hannity," stressing the Times' previous story about Wilkins' security detail "caused a direct threat of life to my girlfriend."

"And that’s not me saying that. This individual has been charged, arrested and is in court," Patel told Fox News' Sean Hannity Wednesday.

"And he said, as a direct result of The New York Times reporting, he wanted to take a rifle and canoe my girlfriend’s face. We are going to protect not only me and my loved ones but every American that is threatened."

A spokesperson for the Times told Fox News Digital, "The Times's reporting brings important and concerning facts to public light, and we are confident in the accuracy of our article."

I pride myself on "getting it in good" in sports betting, which is poker slang for making a plus-expected value bet before all the cards are dealt. Well, it's getting harder and harder to do that in the 2026 NFL Draft, so I'm just gambling (responsibly, of course) this year.

Whether it be the NFL executives telling teams to keep their draft boards more private because we can now legally gamble on this stuff, or the sportsbooks are just putting up sharper numbers. Either way, it's tough for schnooks like me to profit off the NFL draft nowadays.

TRAVIS HUNTER'S WIFE LEANNA LENEE HAS A WARNING FOR WAGS HEADING INTO THE 2026 NFL DRAFT

Nevertheless, I’m targeting a few angles that blend team need, market value, and draft buzz. From elite cornerback value at pick nine to a wide receiver market that’s shifting by the hour, here are my best bets for the 2026 class.

I’m counting on the Kansas City Chiefs keeping their ninth pick and taking by far the best cornerback on the board. Kansas City’s starting cornerbacks from last season, Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, went to the Los Angeles Rams. One via trade and the other in free agency.

However, ESPN’s Peter Schrager predicts the Dallas Cowboys will trade for the ninth pick in his latest mock draft and take Delane, which still cashes this bet.

Delane is NFL.com’s third-best graded overall draft prospect and the top-graded cornerback. Tennessee Volunteers CB Jermod McCoy is 21st overall and the next best corner. NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah is my favorite draft analyst, and he has the Chiefs taking Delane ninth.

Given NFLMockDraftDatabase.com, which aggregates 162 first-round mock drafts, has Delane as the most likely player to be taken by Kansas City ninth, +330 is worth sprinkling pizza money on.

The Rams are in "win-now" mode since starting QB Matt Stafford is 38 years old, and they are the betting favorite to win the 2027 Super Bowl at DraftKings.

Los Angeles could take an offensive lineman here, but Stafford could use another pass-catcher because there is a huge drop-off in their WR corps after Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.

Moreover, the Rams might want insurance policies for Puka, who appears to be crazy, and Adams, who is 33 years old and has dealt with injuries over the last few years. Again, they acquired two starting cornerbacks from Kansas City this offseason.

JAY GLAZER HINTS 2026 NFL DRAFT COULD BE ROCKED BY BOMBSHELL MOVE

LAR has drafted and developed its front seven well in recent years, so it can afford a luxury item in the draft. For what it’s worth, Jeremiah and NFLMockDraftDatabase.com predict the Rams will take USC Trojans WR Makai Lemon with the 13th pick.

Bookmaker, one of the sharpest offshore sportsbooks, has Tate at -275 to be the first wide receiver taken Thursday, whereas Arizona State Sun Devils WR Jordyn Tyson is at +155.

I.e., the sharp money at Bookmaker has Tate as a massive favorite to be taken before Tyson. At the time of writing, the best price I could find for Tate being the first wide receiver off the board is on Kalshi.

NFLMockDraftDatabase.com has Tate going sixth to the Cleveland Browns and Tyson 10th to the New York Giants. NFL.com grades Tate as the sixth-best overall prospect in this class and Tyson is 10 spots behind him.

Ohio State is "Wide Receiver University" featuring Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl LX champion WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba and 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson, among others. Tate's Buckeye pedigree is enough for me to bet him to be the first wideout selected Thursday.

Noncitizen ex-Kansas mayor pleads guilty to illegally voting multiple times

A Mexican native green card holder who recently served as mayor of a small Kansas town pleaded guilty to voter fraud after illegally voting multiple times, according to federal authorities. He also falsely claimed U.S. citizenship on voter registration documents.

The case comes as debate continues over voter fraud and election integrity, with the Trump administration pushing measures aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration and tightening election safeguards.

Jose "Joe" Ceballos, who formerly served as mayor of Coldwater, Kansas, for two terms, pleaded guilty this week to three counts of disorderly election conduct following a prosecution by Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach’s office, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Ceballos also has a prior conviction for battery in 1995. He was issued a green card in 1990 and applied for U.S. citizenship in February.

COLOMBIAN WOMAN CHARGED WITH ILLEGALLY VOTING IN 2024 ELECTION STEALING $400,000 IN TAXPAYER FUNDED BENEFITS

On that citizenship application, federal authorities allege he falsely claimed that he had never previously claimed to be a U.S. citizen.

Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis credited the Trump-era SAVE program for helping bring Ceballos to justice.

The database is used to help states determine who is in the country legally versus illegally, but Democrats, including the Shapiro administration in Pennsylvania, have blamed alleged discrepancies in the system after illegal immigrant truckers were found to hold their state’s CDLs.

"The SAVE program is a critical tool for state and local governments to safeguard the integrity of elections across the country," Bis said. "President Trump has been unequivocal: Nothing is more fundamental than the integrity and security of our elections."

Bis said the Ceballos case is an exemplar for why Congress must pass the SAVE America Act, which she called "commonsense legislation that requires voters to present photo ID and implements other critical measures to protect federal elections from fraud."

"Our elections belong to American citizens, not foreign citizens," she said.

Bis’ office shared with Fox News Digital a facsimile of a Kansas state voter registration form on which Ceballos falsely claimed to be a citizen, as well as his naturalization application on which he had attested that he had never made such a claim.

Since April 2025, more than 24,000 cases have been identified via the SAVE system as potential noncitizens who were on the voter rolls, according to DHS.

In November, Kobach announced the original charges against Ceballos, describing him as "recently reelected" in Coldwater.

At the time, USCIS spokesman Matthew Tragesser called the situation "absolutely unacceptable and sad," but said it was no surprise "given the years of lax voting security in the United States."

"From day one, the Trump administration has made strengthening the SAVE program a top priority so states can verify that only U.S. citizens are on the voter rolls," he said.

"I’m grateful that President Trump implemented the SAVE program to help states and to prevent situations like this," added Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab.

As we have discussed several times recently, the Stanley Cup Playoffs are home to some of the most superstitious human beings on the planet.

Several of the most famous traditions in the sport stem from fans and players alike doing something born out of superstition.

Take the Detroit Red Wings and their octopus toss, whose eight legs symbolize the eight wins it took to win a Stanley Cup back when the league was much smaller.

It would appear as though some deranged Edmonton Oilers fan tried starting a new tradition of tossing something onto the ice during their first round matchup with the Anaheim Ducks in hopes of sparking a Cup run, though I'm not sure this one will have the same traction as the one in the Motor City.

First of all, kudos to whomever was able to sneak an entire rotisserie chicken into a playoff hockey game (probably a millennial, given their propensity for blowing their mortgages on them).

I have several questions about the logistics of that endeavor, but on second thought, it's probably best I keep those to myself.

Secondly, shortly after this poultry product made its way onto the ice, the Oilers would give up two late goals in the third period to give Anaheim the win and a 1-1 series split heading back to Southern California.

I'm sure the person responsible for this is feeling a great amount of shame for their actions this morning.

Not because there is anything inherently wrong with throwing stuff on the ice, as we discussed, but because, from the looks of it, their antics almost assuredly cursed the Oilers and handed the Ducks the win on a silver platter.

Speaking of "ducks," I'm starting to think this wasn't a rotisserie chicken, but rather a roast duck.

Rep Tim Burchett convinced that aliens exist, says he's 'seen too much' in government briefings

Rep. Tim Burchett said during a Tuesday interview that he believes aliens exist, citing government briefings, pilot testimony and what he described as video and photographic evidence shown to him by officials.

"We’ve seen too much. I’ve seen too much," Burchett said on "Piers Morgan Uncensored." "Not myself personally, but when I’ve been briefed by government officials, video, pictures. Some of the best-trained pilots in the world have described having close collisions with some sort of aircraft or apparatus, and so I think it’s time that they come clean."

Burchett made the remarks after host Piers Morgan pressed him directly on whether he believes extraterrestrial life exists.

"Yes, sir, I do," Burchett said.

Burchett said his belief was shaped in part by religious interpretation, pointing to biblical passages as possible descriptions of advanced technology.

"Genesis one, chapter one, 'God created the heavens and the earth.' You look at the Book of Ezekiel, Ezekiel saw the wheel, and it described a wheel within a wheel with some sort of landing craft."

Morgan expressed skepticism about whether any claims rise to the level of verifiable proof, even as he acknowledged the vastness of the universe.

"So I guess the more difficult question for you is you’ve seen and heard about what we would describe as phenomena, but it’s unexplained phenomena. Have you ever seen any cold, hard, irrefutable factual evidence to support alien life?" Morgan asked.

Burchett acknowledged he has not personally witnessed unidentified craft but argued that testimony from military personnel and officials carries weight.

"Have I seen a craft or anything fly over me that was unidentifiable? No, sir, I have not personally," Burchett said. "I have to question why a pilot, some of the best in the world, would risk their reputations coming forth and telling me this stuff."

Burchett also described a reported encounter relayed to him by a former Navy serviceman involving a large, silent object.

"This craft flew over them and then it took off without any noise or any disturbance around them," Burchett said. "The descriptions they gave were very vivid and very similar."

He described sonar detections of large, fast-moving objects and suggested the ocean could be a plausible location for unknown phenomena.

"There’s five deepwater areas. We have a lot of sightings in the air over that," Burchett said. "Something as big as a football field has been traced on our sonar that went over 200 miles an hour."

"When they make a sighting like this, they’re pulled off the line and they will get a psych evaluation," Burchett said.

He suggested the federal government is withholding information about unidentified aerial phenomena and criticized what he described as a lack of transparency.

"I feel like this is something that’s being held back for whatever reason," Burchett said. "I have no faith in our federal government will release any of this stuff."

Morgan pointed to the possible shock and uncertainty that could follow a full disclosure of classified UFO government findings.

"Is the world, is America, is the wider world ready?" Morgan said.

"It’s not the government’s job to decide what I can and cannot handle," Burchett said.
