When I first saw this coin, I just loved the artistry in the design – so stylized! Never thought of the ancient Celts of being so funky!

I’ve put the Celtic Wreath Rider Horse design in my shop on t-shirts and buttons and all that crazy stuff. Click here or on any design below to browse through the entire selection of Celtic Wreath Rider Coin tees and gifts – fantastic for historians, coin collectors, celtophiles, and horse lovers:

At least that’s really what it looks like to me, an eye. With a wheel ‘pupil’ and different patterns and shapes for eyelids, eyebrows, etc. Since it was created over two thousand years ago, it could also be expressing some kind of a tribal building and agricultural field layout, or even a sort of crop circle. Or spiral landing spots for interdimensional space craft. Or not.

In any case, this design is from the Gaulic Treviri tribe who lived in SE Belgium in the 2nd or 1st Century BC.

This lucky Celtic Eye is available on all kinds of products, as in the below sample. Click here or any of these products to browse the entire line…

There are 8 coin designs in the series, and the first one is a very popular theme in Celtic coins – horses. Celts LOVED their horses!

This first design in the series is also the ‘newest’, dated First Century AD (all others are BC), the most realistically portrayed, and is based on a Celtic Horse Coin that was minted in Celtic Britain by the ruler Cunobelin (shortened as ‘CVNO’ on the coin – you can see details better in the fine art print image at the bottom of this post), which means Hound of Belinus, the Celtic Sun God.

This design is available on all kinds of t-shirts, sweatshirts (as above) and lots of other cool products as well, sampled below. Click here or any of the designs below to see the entire Ancient Celtic Horse Coin line…

If the internet has shown us anything, and it hasn’t, it’s that it’s a place to share what you want to share, without regard to how interesting it might be to anyone unfortunate enough to run across it. In that spirit, I give you a photo of the old refrigerator that gave up the ghost, next to a photo of the brand new refrigerator, that is quite spirited. (Hah! Ghost humor!) I know – exciting! Especially when you consider that both of them are the most basic models with no bells and whistles. (How will you ever go back to your normal routine today after seeing this amazingness!?!)

Note the glorious gradation of browns on the old frig, as well as the faux wooden handles and chrome trim – so very, very… er…. vintage! And the new one? White. White is good.

And it’s amazing how much improvement there has been with storage allocation. The new refrigerator is actually a tad smaller than the last one, but there’s so much more space, especially in the door racks – nice!

So… that’s our refrigerator saga. Now? Must go empty a few coolers!

I just put out a new newsletter for my Art of FoxVox Shop, announcing the new products – shower curtains, duvet covers, and pillowcases with my Celtic designs, as well as Fine Art designs (lots of cool abstract patterns) and even a few sets that are made from ye olde tyme maps. Here’s the official blurb and links for these sections in my shop:

I’m really glad that Cafepress has added these products to the line up – you don’t find, say, queen sized comforters with dragons and knotwork for instance, in your local WalMart. Now if I can just petition them to offer printable tapestries! *grin*
