A new, janktastic Wii title dubbed Baby and Me (not to be confused with the new 50 Cent song, "Baby by Me") is shipping in limited quantities as a special edition that actually includes a doll "accessory" in the box. The regular game is designed to work with the Wiimote attached to any old doll, but in case your child is looking for a premium fake baby experience, we suppose this special edition is the way to go. The actual game play includes motion sensitive baby-rocking, Balance Board support for teaching the child avatar to walk, and the sound of gurgles and burps output through the Wiimote's built-in speaker. It sounds exactly like caring for a real child.
Yeah, we know; next to pico projectors it's hard to find any bit of technology more boring than digital photo frames. These days they don't catch our eye unless they can print pictures of your pre-school beauty queen or integrate some unexpected combination of networking hardware. Still, they're selling like hotcakes, set to be in 25 percent of "broadband households" by the end of the year. Adoption in dial-up households has not been revealed but we're guessing it's... slower. For those folks we recommend the first ever analog digital frame that may not print anything or hit Flickr or even automatically cycle through those pictures in that hidden directory you forgot about, but it is at least made entirely of wood, which makes it better for the environment than CFL LCDs. And, at just $25 from ThinkGeek, it's a perfect holiday gift -- for yourself.
More impressive, the Bristol duo has made these changes without sacrificing any of the genre-straddling adventurousness that made their music intriguing in the first place. Aiding the shift is producer Andrew Weatherall, who has a long history of infusing rock with dancefloor bounce and drawing the best from the people he works with. Perhaps surprisingly, Tarot Sport is a welcoming album-- and one of the best of this already fruitful year.

<gr:likingUser>03000687034457157649</gr:likingUser><gr:likingUser>11336481339012772692</gr:likingUser>

Pitchfork: Album Reviews

Sky Player on Xbox 360 receives first eyes-on analysis

Shared by FoxyBlaise

"astonishingly well-designed interface." Thank you Mr journalist :)

Sky TV has made its arrival on the Xbox 360 today in prompt fashion, with live streaming and on-demand video available, and the keen lads over at Electric Pig already have a preview of the service in action. Their immediate reaction was that the Sky Player interface was "ultra-speedy" and easily navigable using the 360 controller. Streaming at the high-quality setting (alas, there's no HD on offer yet) was also no problem on a 4Mb broadband connection, though they reserve their highest praise for the on-demand content which was pumped through within a couple of seconds of selection and benefits from an "astonishingly well-designed interface." For the full impressions of the subscription-based service, which starts out at £15 per month, hit up the read link below.

Sky Player on Xbox 360 receives first eyes-on analysis originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 27 Oct 2009 08:12:00 EST.
Someone on Twitter recently re-linked to this interview between Shepard Fairey and Banksy from a few years ago and it’s a good read. I love that Banksy doesn’t have any interest in outing himself, that he would continue making art secretly like he has. One of my favorite parts is when he’s asked about the art world, and how many artists want their work to be accessible to a lot of people, but high prices at galleries can make this impractical:

The art world is the biggest joke going. It’s a rest home for the overprivileged, the pretentious, and the weak. And modern art is a disgrace – never have so many people used so much stuff and taken so long to say so little. Still, the plus side is it’s probably the easiest business in the world to walk into with no talent and make a few bucks.

It’s a fact, I drink god awful amounts of milk. When I go out for brunch, I order milk with my food, and people stare at me. So when I came across this beautiful packaging for Forest Milk, well, I kinda’ got thirsty. Forest Milk is produced in Japan from cows who get to roam around in a forest all year long, trimming the grass and keeping the forest looking nice. It’s also supposed to make the milk taste better, cuz’ happy cows make tastier milk. I don’t know if this is true, but I love the logo and the old fashioned packaging, I would pick this up in a heartbeat.

Found through Spoon & Tamago

Amazing creative person Jessica Hische tweeted earlier today her new Invoice for <del>Services Rendered</del> Day-Ruining. This handy invoice form covers all the bases, like expenses for drinks, pizza, drugs, phone calls and general time-wasted. I love how many zeroes you could fit on the ‘In The Amount Of:’ box, that’s probably close to a googolplex. And of course, you get to sign it at the end, with a tiny note stating, ‘a designer who will most likely never work for you again.’
