“Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2: 5–6 KJV

While we were still dead in our sins, God brought us to life with Christ (by grace are you saved), and has raised us up together, allowing us to sit with Christ Jesus in heavenly places.

Think about it:

✓ We were dead to God

✓ But God gave us life when He resurrected Jesus

✓ We were raised when Jesus was raised

✓ Our sins had pushed us away from God’s love

✓ God’s grace moved Him to bring us to Himself

✓ We now can sit with Jesus in heavenly places

✓ God raised us up when we were down, so we could sit with Jesus

We often talk of walking with the Lord, but do you ever just sit with Him?

When God’s grace moved Him, He moved us. What happened when God moved you?

When you sit with Jesus, does He ever take you to heavenly places?

When Christ arose, we rose, budding like a rose in spring. Have you bloomed yet?

Do you ever just relax and sing with Jesus? Do you just talk sometimes?

Do you allow the Holy Spirit to comfort you by hugging you, and holding you close?

Prayer: Dear Lord, teach me to get the most out of sitting with You. Amen.

Jesus offers complete spiritual nutrition.

Jesus is not a happy meal with a gimmick.

For you to get nourishment you can’t just stand there and look at the food. You must eat it.

Jesus is our daily bread. We need Him everyday.

Jesus gives you life and sustains you.

Just a few things for us to think about:

Keep your critical spirit if you want to be constantly treated with one.

Promote yourself as your neighbors’ judge only if you want them to be yours.

Remember, you will be sentenced and condemned by the same rules you force upon others.

Judge actions, not people.

God is our judge, and one judge is enough.

I am still trying to process what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary school. It’s hard not to cry when you hear about kids being murdered, especially when you have a kid who is the same age as the ones that were shot multiple times by Adam Lanza. This guy may have had some mental issues but he was still driven by evil. The Bible does say that in the last days evil will abound.

In times when evil is rampant heroes like Victoria Soto shine. She was a teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary. She saved her students by making the ultimate sacrifice. Bravery, selflessness, character, determination, and heroism are good words that describe the life and actions of a woman like Victoria Soto.

Evil must be overcome with good. Thank you Victoria. Your heroism shines in the midst of evil.

A man named Bob May, depressed and brokenhearted, stared out his drafty apartment window into the chilling December night.

His 4-year-old daughter Barbara sat on his lap quietly sobbing. Bob’s wife, Evelyn, was dying of cancer Little Barbara couldn’t understand why her mommy could never come home. Barbara looked up into her dad’s eyes and asked, “Why isn’t Mommy just like everybody else’s Mommy?” Bob’s jaw tightened and his eyes welled with tears. Her question brought waves of grief, but also of anger. It had been the story of Bob’s life. Life always had to be different for Bob.

Small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by other boys. He was too little at the time to compete in sports. He was often called names he’d rather not remember. From childhood, Bob was different and never seemed to fit in. Bob did complete college, married his loving wife and was grateful to get his job as a copywriter at Montgomery Ward during the Great Depression. Then he was blessed with his little girl. But it was all short-lived. Evelyn’s bout with cancer stripped them of all their savings and now Bob and his daughter were forced to live in a two-room apartment in the Chicago slums. Evelyn died just days before Christmas in 1938.

Bob struggled to give hope to his child, for whom he couldn’t even afford to buy a Christmas gift. But if he couldn’t buy a gift, he was determined to make one – a storybook! Bob had created an animal character in his own mind and told the animal’s story to little Barbara to give her comfort and hope. Again and again Bob told the story, embellishing it more with each telling. Who was the character? What was the story all about? The story Bob May created was his own autobiography in fable form. The character he created was a misfit outcast like he was. The name of the character? A little reindeer named Rudolph, with a big shiny nose. Bob finished the book just in time to give it to his little girl on Christmas Day. But the story doesn’t end there.

The general manager of Montgomery Ward caught wind of the little storybook and offered Bob May a nominal fee to purchase the rights to print the book. Wards went on to print,_ Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer_ and distribute it to children visiting Santa Claus in their stores. By 1946 Wards had printed and distributed more than six million copies of Rudolph. That same year, a major publisher wanted to purchase the rights from Wards to print an updated version of the book.

In an unprecedented gesture of kindness, the CEO of Wards returned all rights back to Bob May. The book became a best seller. Many toy and marketing deals followed and Bob May, now remarried with a growing family, became wealthy from the story he created to comfort his grieving daughter. But the story doesn’t end there either.

Bob’s brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, made a song adaptation to Rudolph. Though the song was turned down by such popular vocalists as Bing Crosby and Dinah Shore , it was recorded by the singing cowboy, Gene Autry. “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” was released in 1949 and became a phenomenal success, selling more records than any other Christmas song, with the exception of “White Christmas.”

The gift of love that Bob May created for his daughter so long ago kept on returning back to bless him again and again. And Bob May learned the lesson, just like his dear friend Rudolph, that being different isn’t so bad. In fact, being different can be a blessing.

God has a motive! His thoughts are working to give you a future and a hope (Jer. 29:11). All things are working for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). We see only the beginning; God sees the end from the beginning. We spell the alphabet—alpha, beta, gamma … But from alpha to omega, God reads all at once. He knows every letter in the Book of Providence. He sees not only what He is doing, but also the final results.

God sees your present pain and grief. He also sees the future joy and the usefulness that will come from this affliction. He observes not only the plow tearing the soil, but also a golden harvest clothing that soil. He sees the consequences of affliction and knows that it will lead to much blessed happiness.

“Beloved, now are we the children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be” (1 John 3:2). You never see the Great Artist’s masterpiece. You only see the rough marble and mark the chips that fall to the ground. You have felt the edge of His chisel; you know the weight of His hammer. If you could see the glorious image as it will be when He has put the finishing blows to it, you would better understand the chisel, the hammer, and the Artist.

“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

Taken from the book Besides Still Waters by Charles Spurgeon

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

In this Scripture , the prophet Isaiah defines three functions of who Christ is:

He came as a child. The innocence and purity of a new-born.

He is the Son of man and Son of God. A son is forever connected to his father. A son is the result of his father’s essence, this link can never be broken.

He has the management of the world in his hands. He is in control and He is able to see the final result. From beginning to end He is in charge.

At Christmas time, our world wants to direct our attention and our heart to everything but Christ. The truth, however, is that the true Christmas spirit of Christmas is the spirit of Jesus. He is our Gift, our Savior, our redeemer!

He came as a child, He is the very revelation of God the Father, and He is truly in charge.

This Christmas Think About These Three.

When every retailer is after your attention you need to be on guard. You need to guard your mind, your heart, and your wallet.

Right about this time of year is when many people make decisions that later on have great spiritual repercussions. Many people get carried away with the Shopping Season just to later find out that they have become slaves to a master that has no mercy nor does he have their best interest at heart.

One of the main strategies is to stir you up to ungratefulness. Once you are there at the point where you no longer appreciate what you have, then the offer for something new is made – of course this will be a great deal that will bring you much happiness. Now, all you have to do is get in line.

However, after all the hype is over and you realize how deep in debt you are, you will start to wonder where God is and why you feel so far away from Him. This could very well happen sometime in mid January.

There are times when the best thing I can do is sing. Sing a song about who He is. He is great, He is mighty, He is bigger than any situation I may be facing right now.

Jesus died on the cross for me, that and that alone is reason enough to experience joy and sing to Him. When I think of this my soul becomes grateful and I want to sing. One song that I like to sing is How Great Thou Art. I asked Stephanie to sing it the other day during worship practice and we recorded it. I share it with you today in the hope that it will minister to your soul.

God Bless You.

Last Friday we had a powerful prayer service. It was awesome. Victory is ours by faith and by the power of prayer. Chains are broken by the power that is released when we pray. Victory is attained in worship.

Some battles can only be won in prayer. This is especially true when you have come to the point where you feel that you have exhausted all your resources and yet you have not seen the fruit of your efforts. Maybe you have been praying for your spouse, your kids, or your parents. You have witnessed, you have lived the life, you’ve done all you can do and yet chains are not being broken. This is when prayer is the most essential.

And what can you do after you have prayed? I say, just worship Him. Worship God and thank Him. Celebrate Him and His power.

His ways are higher than our ways. – Isaiah 55:9

After our prayer service was done, the computer was left recording as we were fellow-shipping. My son stepped up to the microphone and sang this song. What a way to celebrate Jesus! You can listen to it here. Be blessed!

Nowadays everything is so volatile. In a world that is ever-changing at a speed that makes our heads spin, we crave for something that is reliable, steady, and enduring.

Think about this:

1) God spoke the universe into existence.
2) God holds the universe by his own power.
3) God foils the plans of evil people.
4) God’s purposes are sustained, including his purpose for you, no matter what people endeavor to do.

Psalm 33:11 “But the plans of The Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.”

There are times to be safe and there are times to be brave.

When you play it safe you say things like:

1) Keep both feet on the ground at all times.

2) Stay only with what you know.

3) Learn the rules and keep them.

There is nothing wrong with playing it safe, but there is something very wrong with wanting to play it safe everyday all the time. The truth is that you can’t be safe and be brave at the same time, and only brave people dare to take things to a higher level where everyone can benefit.

Abram left Ur, that was a brave move.

Moses faced Pharaoh, that was a brave move.

Peter got out of the boat, that was a brave move.

Paul witnessed before Caesar, that was a brave move.

Jesus went to the Cross, He is the bravest of all.

Today I pray to God to make me brave and make me strong to become the difference maker He’s called me to be. How about you? Maybe you should too.

Psalm 145:9, 15-16.

9 The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.

15 The eyes of all look to you in hope; you give them their food as they need it.

16 When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.

These verses are a reminder that the goodness that is found in this world comes from God. His compassion, His goodness, and His provision reach and touch even those who by human standards don’t deserve it.

This is a testimony to the abundant goodness of God. His goodness keeps this world going, giving us an opportunity to open the door of our hearts to let Him in.

Today, three types of people have the opportunity to live another day to see God’s goodness:

1) The most evil of all.

2) The most pious of all.

3) You.

Say this prayer now: “Lord, thank you for your goodness in my life.”

Faith laughs at the shaking of the spear; unbelief trembles at the shaking of a leaf; unbelief starves the soul; faith finds food in famine, and a table in the wilderness.

In the greatest danger, faith says, ‘I have a great God.’

When outward strength is broken, faith rests on the promises. In the midst of sorrow, faith draws the sting out of every trouble, and takes out the bitterness from every affliction.”

God’s promises are the hope we have for today. Sometimes you won’t have anything to hang onto other than God’s promises.

When you read 1 Chronicles 17, you will find God gave some promises to David through Nathan the prophet.

David would defeat his enemies and bring Israel peace.

One of David’s offspring would build The Temple for The Lord.

A descendant of David would rule over God’s people forever.

Some of these prophecies were fulfilled in David’s lifetime and some were fulfilled in the lives of his descendants. These promises have given hope to every generation ever since.

One of the best things you can do today is to read 1 Chronicles 17. It will all make sense to you and your faith will be built up.

Here are the four steps to make God’s promises yours:

Read God’s word.

When you find a promise in God’s Word, express your wonder and thankfulness at God’s goodness to you. Think about all He has done for you.

Believe in your heart.

Express your confidence that God will keep the promise He has made—and then live obediently in the conviction that God will do all He has said.

So, claim God’s promises by finding them, thanking God for them, believing them, and then acting on them, and you will find out how completely faithful the Lord is to His Word.

How do you know when things are not ready yet?

If you are a child of God, you need to be aware of the fact that God is intrinsically involved in every aspect of your life. He sees the big picture and He knows when the best time is for all things to happen in your life.

You may have a desire to do something noble, something that is totally aligned with The Word of God, but it might not be the right time. In His faithfulness, He will speak to you and give you direction. Sometimes He does this through The Word, maybe a vision, a dream, a prophecy, or a word from someone else, or just feelings and circumstances that God sends your way to help you discern His direction for you.

The Scriptures speak of a time when the Apostle Paul wanted to go to preach in Ephesus but The Holy Spirit said, “No.” Then, he tried going into Bithynia and the Holy Spirit also said, “No, I don’t want you to go there either.”

At that point in time God just had different plans for him. Good plans : )

Today, be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and if He says, “No,” just be OK with it.

Acts 16:6–7
“And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.”

Some people are like parrots and some people are like monkeys.

The parrot knows what to say and can repeat it back to you. The monkey might not be able to talk but he can imitate. Then there are people who perform their tasks at a higher level, with a level of excellence few can match. They can be put in different situations, but they are always able to find a way and they are able to perform over and over again.

These are the ones who are able to extract the principles from the facts. Through observation and practice they have learned why some things work and why some don’t.

Do you know why sometimes things work and sometimes things just don’t work?

If all you do is regurgitate stuff, you are like a parrot. If all you do is imitate others, you are like a monkey, but if you are able to extract the principles from the facts and you can make it work when the circumstances and the variables change, then you have reached a level of productivity that can be used anywhere you go. You are the person we all want to work with.

You are going to get out today and do what you do. Whatever it is I am sure there are several ways to get it done, your employer’s way, your friend’s way, your way, and most important of all God’s way.

The choice is yours to make, what are you going to go with? Who or what are you going to trust?

There are those who would like to see you fail, and then there is the distress and the pressure of getting it done.

At this point what you really need to know and understand is the way God is leading you. His way, His path, His process for you.

Psalm 25:4

“Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow.”

Read the scripture above and let it become part of you. Say it quietly, repeat it, make room for it in your heart, and then expect God to show you His way, and follow it. His is the best way.

Whenever your obedience and God’s faithfulness intersect you will see great things happen. Obedience means that you may have to do some things that are hard, illogical, or even against your nature. You may have to give something away, forgive someone, or try something for which you have no natural talent. However, when God’s faithfulness intersects with your obedience, Great Things Happen.

1. You give a gift that will cost you, then God’s faithfulness multiplies your offering/sacrifice many times over. There are countless stories of this being the case. Great things happen.

2. You forgive someone who has done the most horrible thing to you, then you are set free from a burden that was not yours to carry. Great things happen.

3. You step up and do something totally out of your element; you do it just because you are being obedient, then someone is blessed. Great things happen.

Something great can happen today. If you do your part and you are obedient, God will do His and He will be faithful, and something great will happen.

Share this with someone you care about.

Paint a picture of a desirable future by casting a vision.

Get people to follow you where you are pointing them.

Now, with that said, here are three ways to be a horrible leader:

Be unclear and fuzzy as to the way to get to the great destination you have told people about. When they ask you, “how are we going to get there?” You tell them, “You figure it out.”

When things go well, make sure to be quick to get up there and take the credit for the great accomplishment.

When things go horribly wrong, blame someone else or something else. Blame your followers or blame your circumstances. You can always remain the leader if you have someone else or something else to blame.

The courage for the great sorrows of life, and the patience for the small ones, they are found in God.

Work hard, do your best, always do good to others, and at the end of the day lay your head to rest knowing God is awake and at work.

Psalm 121:4
“Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.”

Think about this, repeat it to yourself, believe it, feel it, and be at peace. This will honor The LORD.

Do you remember the last time someone said something about you that hurt you? Remember the suffering and anguish it brought upon you?

What was God’s will for you at that point in your life?

1 Peter 2:15 says,

“It is God’s will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you’re a danger to society.” – The Message.

This was one of the problems early Christians had to face. People said stuff about them in ignorance. Some even thought Christians were a danger to society, and this brought much suffering and discrimination upon them. The best way to overcome this situation is by doing good.

God is doing good in this world and He is doing it through you even when things are not going well for you.

Sometimes, we suffer because of the ignorance of people, but God continues to do good.

Don’t lose hope, don’t become bitter, do good because God is good.

Can you imagine running a Marathon and winning! just to be told you have been disqualified because of paperwork?

This is just what happened to Scott Downard. He ran the Cowtown Marathon in Fort Worth, Texas. No one was better and faster than him, but the thing about a Marathon is that you can’t just show up and start running, even if you have the speed and athleticism to finish first.

As soon as he got to the finish line he was told, “you lost! You are not even registered for this race!”

This reminds me of the Bible when it says, “not by works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:9.

The race of faith is not about how good and fast you are, but it is won by all those who stay true ’till the end and have registered their name in the Lamb’s Book of Life by putting their faith in the work Jesus accomplished on The Cross.

I think it will be so sad for so many who finish the race of their lives with great accomplishments just to find out they have been disqualified to enter eternal life because they failed to register with Jesus.

Make sure you run and finish your race, but don’t forget to register with Jesus!

No one can have energy all the time. Physical energy, emotional energy, mental energy, even spiritual energy . . . now we have it, then we don’t. Everyone is bound to get tired at some point, but God’s power and strength never diminish. He is never tired, He doesn’t need to sleep or take a break to clear His head. God is strong all the time and He is our source of strength. This is why we need energy dependence.

“The Lord gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:29–31

Wisdom is better than money.

Humble people are better company than proud people.

Don’t promote yourself; it’s much better when others do it for you.

Nothing material can replace the love in the home.

It is not about living in a nice house, but it’s about living with someone who is on the same page as you are.

I got all this stuff out of Proverbs.

How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. Proverbs 16:16

Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Proverbs 16:19

It’s better to be promoted to a place of honor than face humiliation by being demoted. Proverbs 25:7

A bowl of vegetables with someone you love is better than steak with someone you hate. Proverbs 15:17

Better to live alone in a tumbledown shack than share a mansion with a nagging spouse. Proverbs 21:9

If you practice these five, your life will be better.

It says that:

Keeping up appearances can kill you, don’t do it.

It is always better to live in the right, even if it does not make you money.

Having the trust of your friends is priceless.

Sometimes you don’t have to work harder but you just need to work smarter.

If you speak too soon you might regret what you say, waiting to talk is always a much better move.

I got all this stuff out of Proverbs.

Better to be ordinary and work for a living than act important and starve in the process. Proverbs 12:9

Far better to be right and poor than to be wrong and rich. Proverbs 16:8

Better to be poor and honest than a rich person no one can trust. Proverbs 19:1

It’s better to be wise than strong; intelligence outranks muscle any day. Proverbs 24:5

Observe the people who always talk before they think— even simpletons are better off than they are. Proverbs 29:20

If you practice these five, your life will be better.

Three things that never cease:

1) Financial problems and everything that comes with it.

2) The Love of God and everything that comes with it.

3) Worship to God and everything that comes with it.

With financial problems we get stress, turmoil, fear and so on, but with The Love of God we get peace, comfort, assurance and so much more! Then, as we receive His love into our lives we are moved to worship, which actually magnifies every benefit of being a child of God. In turn, our worship overwhelms the enemy of our souls who can’t stand it when we worship God.

Deuteronomy 15:11“There will never cease to be poor in the Land . . .”

Lamentations 3:22“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases . . .”

Revelations 4:8 “day and night they never cease to say, ‘Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!’”

Three things that never cease:

1) The problems we have in this world.

2) The Love of God towards us.

3) Our worship toward Him.

You can actually determine the intensity of one of these three. Do you know which one?

It is time to worship God!

For you goal to be SMART it has to be timely.

Time is what sets your goal in motion. Your time frame determines much when it comes to accomplishing your goal. From the day you set to accomplish this goal you must have a dateline. If you want to pay off your credit cards, you must know by when you are going to do it. This will determine the pace and the size of the payments you make.

Don’t say “I am getting out of debt.” Instead, say “I am paying off those credit cards in 18 months. By June 15th I will be out of debt.”

Keeping the elements of a SMART goal in mind will help you get to your destination. Many people set out to fulfill their dreams, they have many goals and aspirations but many times they don’t see much happen because they are not shooting for SMART goals.

For your goal to be SMART it has to be realistic.

This looks a lot like the ‘A’ component of a SMART goal but here is the difference, for your goal to be realistic you must be willing and able to reach it.

Sometimes there are things you could easily accomplish but you are not willing. If you are not willing even if you have the skills, your goal is not going to be reached.

Then, you need to be able or a different way to put it is enabled. You may have a wonderful skill to display compassion to the poor people of a needy country but if you are not able or enabled to get there, then your goal won’t be accomplished.

So, willingness + enablement = Realistic.

In the following post we’ll talk about Timely, the next and last element of a SMART goal:

For your goal to be SMART it has to be Attainable.

Can you become President? Can you make the Basketball Team for the summer Olympics? Can you become a manager at your company?

In order to reach your goal you must grow skills that will help you get there. Your eyes have to be open to the opportunities and the different steps you must take to get there. This is what makes your goal attainable. Can you become President? Not if you are not in politics. Can you make the Olympic team? Not if you don’t play for . . . Get the point.

How realistic is it that you can accomplish your goal with your current skill set? This is what makes it attainable. Sometimes it is not the skills you have but the people you know. Whatever it is that makes the goal attainable you must have it for your goal to be SMART.

In the following post we’ll talk about Realistic, the next element of a SMART goal:

Specific.

You can have SMART or Dumb goals:

SMART Goals are:

Measurable – it is funny or sad, it depends on how you want to see it; how people set a goal they can’t measure.

You can’t just say, “My goal is to lose weight.” When will you know you’ve lost weight? You have to say, “My goal is to lose 20 pounds.” Now, you are on your way to something.

When you measure you are able to track progress.

Measurable means you can answer: How much? How many? Of “X” you need to see before you know your goal is accomplished.

If your goal is not measurable, then you have a dumb goal!

In the following post we’ll talk about Attainable, the next element of a SMART goal:

Where there is a will there is a way. There is a woman is the Bible whose name we don’t know. This woman is not known by her name, she is knows by her issue.

Do you know what “issue” I’m talking about? She is the woman with the issue of ___________.

Most people who have been to church for any length of time would know the answer to this one but just in case you don’t, read Luke 8 for the answer.

She needed a miracle and everything seemed to be stacked against her. She was mature, lonely, and sick. Jesus was young, healthy, and with company. She overcame much in order to just touch the bottom of Jesus’ robe.

Not her condition, nor the crowd, nor tradition would keep her from touching Jesus. And when she did, the illness she had had for the past twelve years was instantly healed.

Sometimes we must press in to touch Jesus. Only that will do. If you have not been bleeding for twelve years, then your chances are better than this woman’s. But you still may have to press in.

Where there is a will there is a way. Are you willing to press in?

You can have SMART or Dumb goals:

SMART Goals are:

Specific:
If you say, “I want to have more free time for the things that really matter to me.” That’s not going to happen until you are specific.

Here is what you need to be saying instead, “I am going to get off Facebook this coming week and I am not going to watch TV when I get home from work. Instead, from 6:30-7:30 PM I am going to read a book with my son. Then, I will spend some time with my spouse trying to draw a Living Will because we don’t have one and everyone should have one. By next Friday, we will have all this done and if we don’t have it all done, we will keep working on it, until it is done.”

Specific means you know who is involved, when, where, and why you are going to do it, and what you want to accomplish.

If your goal is not specific, then you have a dumb goal!

In the following post we’ll talk about Measurable, the next element of a SMART goal:

Specific.

Measurable.

Attainable.

Realistic.

Timely.

Now, can you share this website with a friend from work by 9:00 PM tonight?

When it comes to our walk with Christ everyone is somewhere between a Cynic and a Disciple. Let’s start:

The Cynic – Avoids the truth. There is a chance that one day he/she may become a Skeptic.

The Skeptic – by the grace of God comes across the message of the Gospel and becomes aware there is good news out there somewhere. The Skeptic has potential to become a Spectator.

The Spectator – likes what the Bible has to say and likes Jesus from a distance. He/She knows Jesus can do some awesome things in people. The more he/she sees, the better chance he/she has of becoming a Seeker.

The Seeker – has a spiritual need and knows Christ is the answer. He/She is ready to trust in Christ but he/she still trusts other things out there. The more he/she learns, the closer he/she is to become a Believer.

The Believer – is ready to join the church, reads his/her Bible and makes most decisions based on the Bible. He/She still has to make some sacrifices to become a disciple, but the more he/she realizes how much Jesus has done for him/her, the more he/she is ready to become a Disciple.

The Disciple – lives by faith and shares his/her faith. The disciple is in ministry, he/she is willing to do whatever it takes to get closer to Christ and bring others closer to Christ regardless of the price to be paid. Jesus is everything.

Where are you in your walk with Christ and what are you willing to do to get to the next level? Could you share this website with someone you know that is somewhere between a Cynic and a Disciple?

Putting our emotions on hold is something we all do. Sometimes we are facing some issue and instead of tackling it, we say, “I’ll deal with that later.” Then, we watch TV, play video games, eat chocolate, and some even smoke, drink and do drugs.

These are all ways of escaping a reality that must be dealt with. They are temporary and don’t really deal with the problem. We try to postpone the painful experience of confronting whatever it is that is keeping us from further growth in our lives. But the truth is that you can’t improve, develop, and grow when you run away from these personal pains.

For our own sake and the sake of those around us, we must stop putting our emotions on hold. We must deal with it, accept it, grow, and move on. You don’t want to be the one holding everything back, do you?

Can you think of someone who needs to hear this? Don’t let it be you.

Your life, your calling, and God. Tell me what you are doing with these three and I’ll tell you what’s going on with you.

Here is the truth of the day for you: “your life is too valuable, your calling is too great, and God is too good. So, don’t let your life go to waste.”

Keeping these in mind. Mix them well and will help make decisions that will improve, develop, and grow your life.

You are too valuable – Jesus paid the ultimate price for you.

Your calling is too great – Much greater than any temporary goal.

God is too good – All He does in your life flows out of His love for you.

Watch out, if you:

Don’t think you are valuable.

All you do is for temporary gain.

Don’t view God as a loving God.

Then, more likely than not, you are wasting your life.
