Although Memorial Day is on Monday but I have to post my greeting to everyone here in the US in advance because for sure I wont have time to post on the day of the celebration. Why? I’m at work on that day! Well, what else is new right? I know a lot families who has money, long weekends is a perfect time for them to go away, spend time and celebrate it with their love ones but not for us we need this day to earn extra penny to pay-off our bills then we'll gonna have fun later on in the future.

Anyway, we’re heading tonight to our Cape Cod summer house to finish cleaning the pool and some stuffs that needs to be done before my hubby’s relatives from Colorado comes this coming mid of June. I know right it’s a long weekend but it’s still work…work...Work for me and my hubby again but it’s alright we both know that this is not forever. So, for now all we need is just to hang in there: D.

While searching online I stumble upon this Bunk Beds AtoZ online store and reading the bunk beds word gives me a real smirk on my face because I remember the time when me and my hubby are talking about this kind of bed that I had in my country. As I’ve remember he ask me what kind of bed we have, I said it’s a “double deck beds”. He said what?! What kind of bed is that? ! LOL! I explained to him that it is a kind of beds that the 1^st bed is on top and the 2^nd bed is in the bottom then I showed it to him over the webcam. Oh well, he said ohhhh it’s a “bunk beds”! Oh gee, I thought its how I pronounce the word that’s why he didn’t understand me. From that day I was thinking that probably the English language that I’ve learned from my school is far different from their language. I’m darn right I proved it when I came here :-)

Throughout the years living here I can say that I’ve learned a lot from my hubby and I can relate more especially on their American slang language. My hubby is patiently teaching me and explaining to me when I don’t understand what he said or when I don’t know how to say it especially when it comes to American slang words.

My First Bonding Moment With My Dad Inlaw

Yesterday I had a long ride and a long day with Daddy. I never thought that I'll be visiting 2 States on that day! We been to Rhode Island and Connecticut where the biggest casino allover United States is located which is the “Foxwoods Resort Casino”. We went there because Dad needs to use his points before it expired this coming June. The only way he can claim his points by using it on gift shops, hotel stay or dining. So, he decided to get jewelry for my daughter. When were at the place we go straight to the jewelry shop to get one for my daughter. I was speechless when he told me to pick one for myself! I refused because I don’t want to be an issue to my hubby’s siblings again. But he told me the reason why he's getting one for me and it melts my heart when he said that he does appreciates all the things that I do for him. I insist that he don't have to buy me one it's enough and I'm happy that he's getting one for my daughter. And that he doesn’t have to worry even if he wont give me anything I still gonna take care of him because he’s also my father and my hubby loves him so much so I feel the same way. Anyway although I insisted not to but he still win and he got us both a bangle bracelet.

The one at the top is for my princess. It is a diamond bracelet and the bottom one is mine. It is a combination of 18k gold and pure silver because there aren’t much a lot of designs to choose from the one with diamonds. Supposed to be Dad wants to get the same style and design for both of us but they don't have anymore available. :( Anyway, "thank you so much daddy I'm forever grateful of all the things you did for Shaneika and me. We love you so dearly.

Although I've been to a casino before when we went to the Cruise but I really amazed of this one. It's indeed a fancy place plus mostly of the people of course are elites: D. I played some of the slots machines and won 14 dollars hahaha while Dad lost 200 hundred playing blackjack. After he’s done playing we went to eat lunch and hit the road back home. I didn't take many photos inside the casino because I was to shy to do it, lol. But anyways I still got some ramdom shots that I took using just my phone that you can view from my other blog Snapshots and Tips .

Medicare Supplement

Last night my hubby and I were still surprised (though it isn't new to us anymore) of the total amount that we need to pay for his medication even after our health insurance pay the pharmacy a huge amount of money already. No wonder why there's a lot of people who has a severe ailment here just choose to die because they can't afford the high rocket prices of prescription medications. Suddenly, I think of Dad (my father-in-law) he's very lucky because he has this Medicare supplement insurance and of course he has money from his rental properties because if not he also couldn't afford to buy medicines for he's diabetes. Anyway, when he heard how much co-pay my hubby needs to pay for his medicine he really feel bad for him. He even said to my hubby to get a supplemental insurance like what he has but we explained to him that my hubby can only apply for it when he turned 65 years old.

Oh well for now we don't have a choice we really need to buy that darn expensive medication for the sake of my hubby's health. Although we feel that this really ain't fair because there are a lot of people we knew who gets a free medications etc. so easy without doing any hard work. My hubby works hard everyday and pays a huge amount on tax but he gets nothing. Just saying!

Let’s Have Some Laughter! Older Woman Are So Reasonable

I'm off from work but I have piles of laundry, ironing clothes and cleaning to do. Anyone wants to help? :-D Anyway, I’m so glad that I've been working a lot lately because we need extra money to help pay for our medical bills. I'm a little bit sad though because I miss blogging but I don't have enough time to do it after work. I admit sometimes I get so disappointed losing so many offers and seeing my traffic getting higher and higher every time I check it. Oh well, I guess we got to do what we got do first right? Well, guys I don't want to be stressed-out thinking of the stuffs that I need to do today so I think I need to have some laughter first. Okay here's a short story about Peter:

"One day after Peter's 44 years wedding anniversary, he took a careful look on his wife and said 44 years ago we had a cheap apartment, a cheap car, slept on a sofa bed and watched a 10 inch black and white TV but I got to sleep every night with a hot 25-years old girl.

Now I have a $1,500,000.00 home, a $45,000.00 car, nice big king bed and plasma screen TV but I'm sleeping with a 65-years old woman. It seems to me that you're not holding up your side of things. In return his wife is indeed a very reasonable woman why? Because she told Peter, okay you can go out and find a hot 25- years old girl and I'll make sure that you would once again be living on a sofa bed and watching a 10 inch black and white TV.

Humm okay guys aren't older women great? They really know how to solve your "mid-life" crises.

The Annual Boston Marathon!

.... is indeed a big day here in Boston! Mostly all big establishments and roads are closed. So, it means it's also holiday for most working people here except me and my hubby. Well, we both have to work today. My hubby will be working from 7am to 5pm and I'll be working from 3-11pm tonight. My daughter and I wanted to see the Boston Marathon live since we came here but it always fall on the day that I need to work. We'll gonna try again next year! I promise her I’ll see to it that I don't have to work so we can go ;-).

FYI: In today's 2012 Boston Marathon there are 27,000 thousand Athletes from all over the world on men and women packs including the one's on the wheel chairs. Inspite of....

all the not so great news with regards to my hubby's health that until now his doctor doesn't really know what is the matter but at least we got a great news from the USCIS. After10 long months of waiting, my princess and I got our permanent GC yesterday! I'm kind of disappointed of how they process our GC especially I didn't really get a good answer from them why they took so long to process it. All I know is I don't remember how many times I call them to follow it up because I get a little nervous not having it after the time frame that is suppose to be only within 6 months. Anyhow, whatever their reasons are I'm happy that finally we got it. Now, I can focus more on assisting my hubby on his medical issues.

Today, I've done all the calls to the hospital and scheduling of his up coming Colonoscopy next week (3rd test so far). By the way guys Colonoscopy is a visual examination test of the full lining of colon (with colonoscope) from the cecum to the rectum; and it requires sedation. This is only one of different test that he's undergoing right now until the doctor knows what's really going on. This long wait for the entire test gives me and my hubby so much agony.

In this life...My Hubby's 2nd MRI

I was so happy earlier because at last my hubby's 2nd MRI was successful! I stayed with him for an hour inside the MRI room throughout the test though to make him relax. His first MRI isn't successful because of the MRI machine is not an open type and he is a Claustrophobia. My hubby tries it for 30 minutes though but he couldn't breathe. So, I had to call the doctor's office to schedule another appointment for an open MRI which we've done today. Now we're just hoping that the result will come out good.

We're expecting a call from his Gastro one of these days. Thank you guys for all the prayers and support you've shown to me and my family. Sorry, I'm still can't get online regularly but when I do I try to visit back to those of you who’s there patiently visiting my 2 blogs regularly.

Difficult Decisions

Our kids are getting older now, and we are trying to decide whether or not they are old enough to go home alone after school. Our oldest is 14 and our youngest is 12, and they keep on hounding my husband and I to give them more freedom. We know that a lot of kids their ages stay home alone, but our kids are very sheltered and we aren’t sure if they are mature enough. We looked into getting ADT Security Centre to see if that might alleviate some of our worry. We figured that it would make us feel better if the house had an alarm if they were there by themselves. Some days I think it would be good for them to be on their own, and then other days I think they are my little babies and they need someone to take care of them. I am going to have to let go of them one day, but it is harder than I thought to make these decisions and know when the time is right.

My hubby and I are getting through a serious family matter right now. Since he had an infection in his large intestine (Colitis) a month ago he never feels better until now. He had a blood test so many times. Last Monday I call the doctor’s office to know the result and sad to say that it’s not a good news. He has an elevated pancreas infection and need to have an MRI ASAP!;-/. Since he knew about it, he talks to me all the time like he's dying already gosh! I get so mad at him for being so negative but I can't blame him because lately he has friends who die of cancer and one has only 6 to 8 weeks to live plus the fact that cancer runs in their family. I guess he's thinking of them all the time.

I couldn't sleep and worry a lot about his health since I knew it from his physician but I try to be brave in front of him. Well, I know God won't take my hubby away from me right now because why he brought us together if he'll let us part ways soon? Tomorrow at 7am is my hubby's MRI; I pray that everything well come out fine. So, guys I'm asking you a favor please helps me pray for my husband health. I appreciate it very much. Thank you all with all my heart.

My Dream Watch For My Hubby

Although our 4^th year wedding anniversary is five months away I can’t believe that my hubby already ordered a surprise gift for me from his private jeweler. I guess now I’m obliged to start saving money because I want to give him something different other than clothing and footwear. If only I have money I want to give him my dream watch (Rolex or Tag Heuer) that I always wanted him to have. Since I can't afford those brands that I mentioned and probably I will never afford to buy one :-). I'll be happy to get him Seiko watches that doesn't cost a lot of money but I know I can trust when it comes to quality! I've seen one already that will soothe my hubby's picky taste. Now, I'm just hoping that I can save enough money soon while a few of them are on SALE.

Got A Bad Virus!

It's been 3 days and counting since my laptop was infected with virus. I try to re-program it but I found out that all my programs are all gone; I guess the virus cleaned it up! It all started when I visited one of my co-blogger's blog then boom suddenly my laptop screen was full of pop-ups until it turned very dark. I turned it off then it really sucks when I turned it on I couldn't retrieve anything. I call the computer store to ask how much it'll going to cost us to fix it. I hate to know that we’ll need to pay "two hundred dollars" to fix it. Now we have two laptops that need to be fix one is mine and one is my princess. So, we have to come up 4 hundred dollars for them to work again sigh! Oh well, we can't get ahead of our expenses because there always something comes up after the other.

For the meantime we all going to use my hubby's pc which I have no patient using it because it's too slow already but I have no choice! :-( Well, guys for now I'll going to support and visit you when I can support and visit you sorry!

I've notice that technology has become such an important thing in every student's lives including my daughter. She's so attach to her IPhone that sometimes it seems she can't go to school anymore without it. She always wants it with her all the time. I'm sure it's the first thing she wants to reach for when she gets out of class. Sometimes I want to take it away from her so she can concentrate more on her studies but I stop and think for a while. I know that my sister bought it for her safety and emergency use so why I'm gonna take it away from her. But lately I get nervous because she told me that a few students have been losing their belongings or got stolen from their locker especially smart phones. Unfortunately, her school don't have cellphone storage locker they just have the regular ones and it can easily access by anyone that's why probably this is happening.

Seamless Shape Wear

My hubby told me that I'm a type of person who is very picky in everything. I didn't dis-agree with him because he's right. Why he said that because one time I tag him along with me when I go shopping for underwear. We spent hours at the store with nothing on hand when we left. He looked at me like I have two heads and shake his head LOL.

Well, that time I was trying to find this Cami with cleavage cover and Best back smoothing bra and cami. I get very disappointed of the bra's that we just bought month ago, I toss it all to the donation boxes even though I just wore it once but who cares they doesn't fit right. The problem I’ve had of those bras is the straps that always falling off from my shoulder, shows unsightly bumps and bulges. It sucks when it does that and it really annoyed me. I don't care now if isn't signature anymore as long as I can find one that I comfortable and one with a straps that stays on your shoulder.

On Parenting: Getting the Message Across

As my hubby and I continue teaching our princess for basic "life skills". We learn that there's no one-size fits all approach but we both believe that there are ways to get her attention and cooperation-no matter how much she may grumble. :-). Every time I talk to my daughter about things that she needs to do she seems get irritated all the time. At first we fight and I want to give up teaching her but I try my best to be patient and understand her fully. Anyway nobody loves being told what to do especially teens right? So, every night my hubby and I discuss that we need to change our approach on explaining things that she needs to learn now that in return she'll gonna benefit from later on. I'm gonna share here every approach that we’re going to apply on our journey with our daughter on teaching her on life skills.

Remember: the best place for our teen and tween to learn what he/she needs to know is at home

For a start we want to share this approach ;-)

* On playing the independence card - When you suggest a lesson to your teen or tween say " Daddy and Mommy wants to show you how to cook a few dishes or other life skill, so you can take care of yourself when you're on your own.

* The outcome? Knowing that they can handle themselves without someone directing them is very motivating.:-)

New Kids Clothes

I cannot believe how fast my son is growing. He is two and a half years old and it feels like just yesterday he was born. He has always been tall for his age and in fact, his height percentile is in the 90s. I bought him some size 24 months pants last spring, and he did not even have the opportunity to wear them because when I put them on him on Sunday, they were about three inches too short. I decided that I would skip the size 3T pants for him and get some size 4T pants since it is the end of the season. Hopefully he will be able to wear them next year also. I went online using our eugene wireless internet because I had gotten an email about an end of the season clearance sale that a children’s store was having. They were offering free shipping so I decided to rack up. I got five pairs of pants, three shirts, and a jacket for 35 bucks. I decided that is how I will do my shopping from now on. Kids grow way too fast to buy expensive clothes that will only fit them for a couple of months.

Yups you heard it right guys! My hubby and I are now Gramps and Granny. My stepdaughter Laura just gave birth 5 days ago to a precious baby boy named Christian Kai. We're all excited and can't wait to see and hold our first grandson.
