This website will send a personalized letter from Santa Claus to your child with his or her name, age, friends and you get to choose among 32 different templates.

When the letter arrives by the mail, it will also be stamped from the North Pole which is pretty slick!

By installing this toolbar in my browser, I got access to thousands greeting cards including free Christmas e-cards but also cards for any holiday like birthday cards and Mother’s Day cards.

Their toolbar also gives access to free smileys, free screensavers and much more. Worth checking out!

Needless to say, I haven’t done anything yet but all those things just got me into an holliday mood and before I start decorating and stuff, I thought I would start something new on my blog.

So, what I’m gonna do is that I’m going to do a few posts today featuring free Christmas stuff and gift ideas. If this is something that I feel that my readers enjoy, I might continue posting this kind of stuff in the future as I really enjoy getting freebies. Who doesn’t?

The fact is that I don’t feel very comfortable with my English writing skills. Even tough my spoken English isn’t much better, I don’t feel as much pressure as I normally just want to keep the conversation going and don’t care much about making mistakes. On the other hand, I until lately had a feeling that blogging leave a permanent online mark and didn’t wanted to publish something that could tarnish my image.

Yeah, I now realize that it’s bit stupid and here’s why.

I’ve been investing a lot of my free time lately reading other blogs and learning stuff online and realised that despite most blogs I read are written in English, a noticeable percentage of it is of poor English quality. This doesn’t stops me reading it as I feel they still can be as informative and usefull as profesionnaly written blogs.

So it’s obvious I changed my mind about my blogging standards.

Another interesting fact is that my French blog is now receiving 2200 unique visits a month, something I’m pretty proud of but at the same time really surprised of. Passing the 2k mark without expecting that much of a readership gave me motivation to try new stuff and shy out a bit.

I’m officially reviving this blog. Interestingly enough, I won’t just go and translate my French blog. I’ll create some totally different content and go as far as speaking about totally different things.

The main goal will be to improve my English writing skills while doing something fun and worthwhile for my readers.

As so, I’ve already added a new page to my blog where I offer my own free WordPress installation service. It’s kind of a tutorial at the same time as it also shows where to register a domain name and get web hosting using the wildly known Dotster company. I’m hoping this will get some people interested in following my blog.

I will appreciate any comment about my decision as I’m still pretty stressed about it and please subscibe to my RSS feed to be notified of new posts on this blog!

GigPress is a very useful plugin that adds a neat upcoming shows (and tours) management system to WordPress. It also automatically archive past shows so it saves a lot of updating work in the long run. You can see a live example on my band’s website though I’m not done entering past shows in the database yet as there are a lot and I’m pretty busy. It’ll also need a few more adjustments so it perfectly fits the look of the site but everything works nicely.

Firstly, what’s the use for a Facebook page? Creating your page on Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with your fans by being able to send updates to your entire list of fans. It’s also an additional visibility because when someone becomes your fan, a notification is published in its Mini-Feed therefore it is seen by everyone. As pages are public, they are indexed by Google so it becomes another way for people to find you and you can even make a link from another site.

The most beautiful thing of it is that it is easily done in a few minutes and it’s free! For purposes of example, I will create a page for the (fake) band King Mongoose I just create with Band Name Maker!

To begin with, you must visit the Create a Page on Facebook’s site to create a page. The most complicated thing is to carefully choose the category of your page. If this is a page for a music band, the 3rd option is an easy choice, but if it’s for a company, you must take the time to carefully observe the other two categories. Once your selection done, you enter the name of the band or the company name then click on Create Page.

If you are already connected to your personal Facebook profile, your page is already set up and you can begin to edit it. If you are not logged onto the site, a page will be presented to associate your new page to your personal profile or create a profile if you do not have an account on Facebook.

Your page is now created and you are now able to personalize it! You can remove boxes by clicking on the “X” located in the blue title bar, but some boxes are mandatory and have no button to remove it. It is possible to use the arrow to display a box open or closed or click on a title bar and drag the boxes to rearrange the order in which they appear. Again, some boxes can be moved and others should remain in the same column.

About the box to add music in band pages, I never tried because it requires that your page is confirmed (somewhat like a cell number with the personal profiles) by providing an identity card as a legal digitized passport, a driver’s license or a student ID card. For those who do not possess any of these documents or who prefer to retain some anonymity, I recommend the My Band application which adds a music player to your profile. To use it, simply sign up for a free account on the ReverbNation site, upload some music and your songs will automatically appear on your Facebook page!

Once you have entered all the information in your new page, click on a link to publish the page so that it becomes visible to the rest of some 64 million active users. The publication link is displayed in red in several places in the menus but is easy to find at the top of your page.

You now only have to invite your friends to become a fan of your band or company then keep them informed by sending them updates!
