What some people don’t know is that I’m a massive car geek. Ever since I was a boy I spent hours peering away in car books and was taking more pictures of cars on a holiday than of the rest of the scenery. But I never really set myself to shooting a lot of cars, until know.

I’ve got a lot of friend who are into car & motorsport photography. So when I was given the opportunity to shoot one of my favourite cars in the world, I went mental. Here is my take on the legendary Aston Martin DB5.

New Commercial work: Amateurkunsten

Back in march I shot a bunch of hands for posters and flyers for the Antwerp Festival of amateur arts. The idea was pretty abstract to shoot in the studio. But it ended up looking very cool when everything was stitched together . Versions of the poster where even used as banners on busses and trams.

Two Racingstars

A few weeks ago I photographed two friends of mine who are participating in the motorsports reality TV show Racingstars (which will air in june). They just wanted some snaps of them in their racingsuits. I’m a big car & motorsports geek so I was very happy to help them out.

Taking Parliament!

A few weeks ago I shot a reportage of a group of CEO’s and communications managers doing an intership at the Flemish Parliament. Last time I’d been there I was in Primary school and I didn’t have a clue how our complicated country worked. But now, many many years later, Ido and it was very interesting to get the opportunity to actually shoot there.

The Hell of Northern France – Paris Roubaix

I’d never call myself a sports photographer. I shot my fair share of sportscar and rally racing images but that was many many years ago. But sports photography is a completely different world which I hardly know anything about.

But that doesn’t mean I don’t like to get out of my comfort zone and shoot a cycling classic when the chance presents itself. I was shooting a corporate event at the side of a piece cobblestone road know as the “Pavé de la Roseé”. I loved getting out there in the dust and try to get some decent shots. It was pretty hard because these cyclist flash by immensely fast and even with a camera which has a great autofocusing system I had a hard time getting the cyclist tacksharp in focus.

It might not be the best work I’ve ever shot but I had good fun doing it.

And finally. While I’m pretty proud of some of my images, I know two colleagues who are specialized in this sort of thing and shoot some amazing images and thats Tom Vander Heyden & Kristof Ramon.
