Game Review
I purchased this as a gift for my 63 year old mom for Christmas, along with the Hoyle Card Games 2008, because she is always looking to learn how to play new casino games and she is totally hooked on solitaire. She is not very PC savvy, but learned how to play the games pretty quickly. The help that comes along with the game is useful but may need some interpretation if you don’t know the game basics. Game Review
Though it differs from its predacessors, to me this one was the most fun and visually stimulating. The graphics are incredable and stylized and the gameplay is no longer focused on minning gold, instead earning it. mines do have their place though. This plays more on real life though it is set in a fantasy world. Workers pay taxes while giving you the neccessary commodities you need to build an empire and defend it. The upgradable society idea work wonders here as well. I love the idea that you can butild a college and research a technology, instead of just building a number of buildings in a certain order, or just having your people know already and just needing the proper tools. Like I said,this is more like life. You need workers for their taxes and rescorces, they need a place to stay and food. you provide this and you win their services. Using this money and rescorces you can build great empires and armies. Each platoon has a leader and the number of their followers can be increased, as well as armor, sight, and weapons. this is by far my fav of all the settlers series. Game Review
I like the Grand Theft Auto series of games and this one is great too. I can turn up my settings to max (My computer is over a year old) and there are no problems. The kid reviewer claims that he doesn’t like the “N/F bomb”. That is why this is rated M for Mature (so he should not even be playing it). To give the series a taste some things cannot be eliminated. You will believe that these heroes have existed in the pages of comics for over half a century, that they were the creations of Jack Kirby, that you’re looking at actual comic book covers during the loading screens. The personalities are perfect. The heroes are interesting, likable, and unique. The game-play is pure time-slipping joy. It’s campy, well polished, and delivered better than any other super hero based game ever made. DC and Marvel… TAKE NOTE! Here’s hoping we see more of Freedom Force. The first game was great (Be sure and grab the 1.3 patch if you decide to pick up the original game, it addresses XP SP2 issues!), But this sequel is as close to perfection as any game has ever come, in terms of embodying a love of classic comic books, and super heroes. Game Review
When imagining an expansion pack for a theme park game like Rollercoaster Tycoon, my mind does not immediately go to zoo animals and the like; however, just as the water park additions of Soaked! added a new and fun dimension to the game, the zoo additions of Wild! create new challenges and add a greater sense of variety to RCT3. The scenarios added give an additional 10-20 hours of gameplay, and the new scenery and features augment an already fine-tuned game.
