A Pell Grant is a type of financial aid that can help pay for tuition, fees or other educational expenses. There is no charge to apply for a Federal Pell Grant, better yet, Pell Grants do not have to be repaid.

To apply for a Pell Grant you will need to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and if you meet the eligibility requirements you will receive a Pell Grant as a part of your financial aid package.

In order to qualify for state and federal financial aid, you must meet certain eligibility guidelines:

First of all, You must have financial need (submit Fafsa) and Your EFC must be under $3,850.
You must be following satisfactory academic progress at the school you are attending as defined by the grant program.
You must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or an eligible non-citizen.
Distance learners also may be eligible for some forms of financial aid.
Students can receive Pell Grants for their undergraduate study until they complete a baccalaureate or their first professional degree (such as pharmacy or dentistry).
