<description>Well, when you click on them you basically call them, but if you hang up before
it actually rings it still stays in your history. It works even if the contact
is offline.

      <description>Hello,
I'd like to contribute a few suggestions for changing a few settings in
terminal to make it work a little better.
After launching Terminal, change the following settings.
Command Comma to open preferences.
Tab to settings and press enter.
Under the Text tab, make sure cursor is blinking and that it is set to Block
cursor.
Under the Advance tab, bring up the xTERM-Color and switch it to VT100.
Then exit prefs.

      <description>Hello,
In Snow Leopard, the terminal actually works very well. Just interact with the
shell area and read the contents with VO up and down arrows. Whenever you
need to type, just type and press enter just like you would do on any other
unix system.
I can tell you for sure that ssh and sftp work well.

<description>If you can get some sighted help, a solution for this is to have someone click

      <description>Hi Amanda,

The question I ask most often when some one has a mini and has the busy problem
is, do you have a monitor on your mini? If you do not have a monitor and the
new software update had something to do with graphics, it mite be enough to
upset the balance.

When I scan using vuescan and readers, my output pages end up with long lines:
at least they seem longer to me than I think would actually be in a book but
I'm not sure about this. Since voiceover does read them in text edit, and since
i often end up converting to audio, this isn't necessarily a huge problem and I
have the same problem with Abbyy finereader in Windows but it is annoying. Is
there a way to get documents, especially books, to actually output with the
line length they had in the print or are the print lines in a book really that
long?

The popup button in Navigation, in Voiceover utilities has 3 choices,
moves Voiceover curser,
ignores Voiceover curser,
follows Voiceover curser,
Which tells the mouse how to act deserves a special look if you are having
focus issues.

Right now, I have it set to ignores Voiceover curser and life is pretty good.

<description>thanks so much Keith. I think I am going to shut my computer down at night
instead of letting it sleep as it sometimes acts strangely when I wake it up.
I have a feeling that will help. If it doesn't, I will certainly let you know.
I've already tried the key strokes you suggested to no avail. It doesn't seem
to link the cursors. I will play with it some more. It's behaving ok at the
moment, but in 5 seconds it could start again. Thanks again for your concern,

<description>MacSpeech Dictate is a port of portions of the Dragon product. It's authors
licensed the engine and some of the UI code from Nuance and putit onto the Mac.

It's recognition is very good, pretty much what one would expect from the
Dragon product. The UI, however, is a nightmare with VoiceOver.

As far as I know, there are no other dictation programs for the Mac which
pretty much sucks. Vista and Windows 7 have very good dictation built into the
OS and System Access and probably other Windows screen readers work with it out
of the box.

<description>keith, hate to say this doesn't work in snow leopard or perhaps on my machine.
I can highlight the address but control-option-shift-m does absolutely nothing.
This did work in Leopard. I think they broke it.

If you feel that you are having focus problems, check where your mouse is
located with VO keys-F5 and rout the mouse with voKeys-command-f5. This seems
to take care of my focus issues. And if we need to get together on skype,
iChat, or, the phone we will do that in order to find the answer to the problem.

At this time, we have 207 list members and with the new Voiceover just out a

This list is moderated, so, if we are a little slow in answering, just hang in
there, grin smile.

The topic for this list is the Voiceover screenreader, on the MAC, or, on the
iPhone.

This list has been set aside for learning and teaching the screenreader
Voiceover with the MAC and with the iPhone.
