Social networking has become a vital part of internet marketing. Some social networks are also offering incentives to their members when they actively participate!

Yuwie, for example, is one such social network. However, it is so flooded with advertisements, that changing a profile picture can be cumbersome! However, it is a good way of making contacts, and attract potential customers to your business. If you're an affiliate marketer, you can promote affiliate links, or your website. I personally find the constant popup advertising at Yuwie very annoying.

Youtaz is another social network that offers points (called Taz points) to it's members for registering, uploading pictures, videos, add a blog, refer friends etc. These points are redeemable for cash (in dollars). It works on an ad revenue share basis (50%).

You can earn extra money by participating in Youtaz, but in all honestly, my take is that it's probably not worth your time. There are other loads of earning opportunities on internet worth exploring.

How to get accepted into affiliate networks?

I have been asked this question a few times, and I decided to write a post on it. Getting accepted into affiliate networks is your first step towards affiliate marketing. I have been accepted into over 25 well reputed networks, so I believe I have some authority on the subject. Here are a few pointers that should help you get accepted into affiliate networks.

1. Meaningful domain name
The domain name of your site is quite important. Needless to say, it should reflect the content of the site too.

2.No Free hosting
One of my biggest regret is that my blog is hosted free on Google. If I had bought my own domain name and hosting, 2 years before, my blog would have been taken quite seriously. As it is, the general opinion of free hosted blogs is that the owner / author of the blog isn't very savvy! Quite a few merchants disallow free hosted sites to promote them..

3.Original and Frequently updated Content
Your site should provide useful, original content and should be updated frequently. Frequent updation is quite important as it helps your site rank well in search engines.

4. Additional Comments
Most of the application forms have a field called comments. I have noticed that adding a few words on how I intend to promote the campaigns and what other networks I work for, goes a long way. I almost always get a positive response.

5.Phone Call
If you don't receive the phone call or any response from the network within the specified number of days, call them yourself. Most affiliate managers like assertiveness in affiliates.

Also, if merchants don't accept your application the first time, don't give up so easily. Most of them have dedicated affiliate managers, and you can contact them via email or Instant Messanger. Let them know how you intend to promote their program and they'll reconsider.

These are my observations and experience. Needless to say, it is important to be truthful at all times and maintain a good relationship with the merchants.

Affiliate networks for Incentivised / Cash back sites

When I started my cash back site, I was already a member of quite a lot of reputable affiliate networks. A lot of affiliate networks frown upon incentivised sites, as the traffic sent by them can be of low quality. So, it's difficult to get accepted into networks if you have one incentivised site.

In this post, I have listed a few networks that have a good number of merchants allowing incentives/ my experience with them.

Affiliate Future
Affiliate Future is my favorite affiliate network. They have a number of offers (incentivisable and non incentivisable). The merchants have 5 days to reverse a transaction (if they deem it invalid). They have over 600 merchants! Minimum payment amount required is £20 and payments are made via BACs on 28th of every month (if 28th falls on a weekend, payments are made before 28th).

Affiliate Window
Affiliate Window is my next favourite network. They pay twice a month if your balance is £25 or more. Payments are made via BACs . To complete your application, you have to pay a fee of £5 which is added to your balance if you are accepted into their network. They have merchants with free trials (Mills & boon, Graze) and merchants paying per sale (Comet, Hallmark).

Affilinet
Affilinet has quite a few good merchants too, but I don't particularly like the reporting. It can be a bit confusing. I joined them as I was interested in the BuyCentral Search program, and Pedigree puppy pack. After joining, I also found Sedo, See Tickets, Debenhams and first class prizes and promote them too.

Afform
Afform is another network that has a few incentivised offers and pays well. Minimum payout is £25.

BuyAt is another very popular affiliate network with very popular merchants I use Buyat to mainly promote Carsource, Kinglotto and ASDA. Payments are made on net 60 basis.

Profitistic
Profitistic have very few cost per action offers that can be incentivized including Instant Win 4 now, Win 4 now, Elitemate dating, Voice in a crowd and PrizeDrawsUK. Some of these offers are available at Afform and pay more than Profitistic. Profitistic pays on net 15 basis, which means that if you earned £100 in January, you will get paid on 15th of February. You need atleast £20 in your account to be paid.

Max Bounty
Max Bounty claim to offer highest CPA rates in the industry. However, most of their offers don't allow incentive sites. The affiliate manager is very supportive and responsive too. You will get very few incentivised offers from MaxBounty, and you'll find it quite difficult to get accepted if your site is new as they have high standards.

It took me a while to figure out what co registration offers are and how to earn money from them. More commonly known as co-reg offers, these are the offers that show up on the thank you page when you subscribe to a newsletter / updates etc.

Easycoreg is a network that only has campaigns that allow co registration. Easy to integrate with your site. A simple javascript code is given to you, which you can add to your site and start earning money from your visitors!

How it works
1. Register with Easycoreg
The first step is to register an account with Easycoreg and enter your website details. It takes a maximum upto 5 days for them to approve your site. You can add as many sites as you want.

2. Select the offers
There are two options available, fully automatic or pick your own coreg units. With the fully autoomatic content units, you choose the category and how many coregs you'd like to show. You can also pick your own coregs.

3. Get Code & paste it on your site

To say that Twitter has become very popular would be a major understatement. So I won't say it. I had previously written a post on how to earn money with twitter (twitad). I haven't made any money but I like posting on twitter (automatic posting), and getting more followers.

RevTwt, previously called TwtAd, helps twitterers to earn extra money for posting on twitter. Members can post links on twitter and get paid when their followers click on the link!

How it works
1. Sign up to become a member for free.
2. Enter your twitter account details.
3. Two types of Ads that you can promote:
Cost per click (CPC)
Cost per thousand followers (CPT)
Cost per Action
4. Paste the Ad into your tweet
5. Get paid for each valid click for CPC Ads.

What I liked about RevTwt was that members are allowed to place the CPA ads in their emails, or post in forums, comment on blogs, social network status update, wall post and make money from and every social conversation you have on the Internet! When other people complete an action, typically submit an email or zip code, you get paid.

What I didn't like about RevTwt was that the advertisements available are paying a low amount (e.g. 3 to 10 cents) mostly. Also, there were no CPT ads available. There were 3 CPA ads, paying good amount per lead.

Payments are made when you have accumulated $20 via Paypal. Is it worth my time? I don't think so. Is it worth yours? Why don't you find out?

Ecasher is another cash back site for UK residents. Cashback sites pay members to sign up to free offers, search, click on advertisements, and shop through them. I regularly join new cash back sites and do the No Purchase offers to earn money. It's easy money and addictive too.

I joined Ecasher recently as I found that there is No Minimum payout required. There is no sign up bonus offered, and there are quite a lot of no purchase offers, and daily/recurring clicks. Currently they have the following daily searches available, earning upto £1.50 easily. They have comparison sites (compare the market and tesco compare), which allow you to compare quotes and earn upto £1 daily.

I was three years old when my parents noticed that I squinted. They took me to an eye doctor who told my father that I'll need to wear prescription glasses. I started wearing contacts when I started ninth grade. I was very scared when the lady showed me how to wear them. I don't wear contacts that often anymore, and prefer wearing glasses.

LinkShare Affiliate Network Review

I joined Linkshare to apply to an advertiser exclusive to their network. It didn't take me long to get accepted and here I am, writing my initial impressions.

My initial impression of the LinkShare program was that it's quite different from the other networks. It took me a while to figure out how to add my website, as each website you add is referred to as a channel (not unlike tradedoubler). For each website that you add, you will have to apply to merchants. You also need to verify your email address by clicking on the link in the email that they send to you.

I got accepted into the desired program, and I found the links quite easily. Linkshare has quite a lot of other good programs including French Connection, Avon and Clinique. I have applied to a few of them.

Payments
From what I have read, minimum payout is $50 and Payments are made via direct deposit.

I have yet to test how the network works. I like affiliate networks that are reliable, and provide good support. Also, there should be multiple programs that I can promote, and the minimum payout should not be too high and take forever to pay.

They pay £2 for referring other affiliates, who are accepted into their network. I find the referral pay quite low in most networks. Here is my affiliate network if you wish to join!

Affiliate Marketing with CheckMyStats? A Bad Idea!

I have been an affiliate of CheckMyStats for over a year. I joined CheckMyStats because of a survey company that I wanted to promote had their affiliate program with them. I promoted the survey company (American consumer opinion) and a few more programs. I didn't concentrate on it much to be very honest.

A month or so ago, I decided to actively promote their programs. I recommended checkmystats to a fellow blogger who applied and got approved. CheckMyStats promises $7.5 for each publisher you refer who gets approved. I never received the promised amount. I emailed them and was told that they will investigate and get back to me. The reply I got was quite unfriendly too.

Needless to say, I never heard from them. When I emailed them again, I got the same curt reply telling me that they'll get back to me. A lot of the transactions were reversed too.

I honestly think that they're a waste of time. The interface is not so great either, and the links don't work a lot of the times. They should improve their customer service and website too.
