Sony's cheapest ICS Phone at Rs.9,499 - Xperia Tipo

Since Sony Ericsson started launching phones many years ago, no one had ever seen their prices go down. I mean, 4 or 5 years ago, Sony Ericsson handsets were very expensive and the company would not cut their prices down.

Recently, Sony had promised that it would bring the prices down as Sony gets full control over Xperia. And, with the coming of Android and thus, the competition from rival Smartphone makers like Samsung and HTC, Sony had to cut down the prices of many of its handsets in the Xperia Series.

MTS launches Android 2.3(Gingerbread) powered Mtag 351

MTS had already stepped into the Android Smartphone market under the name "MTS Red Energy." The Smartphones under this name were all feature packed and still a "pebble in the pocket." They still keep the prices low and recently launched another affordable Android Phone named Mtag 351 mainly aiming the "fashionable youth" as their website says.

Processor and OS
The all new Mtag 351 sports the powerful 800 Mhz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It also has 256 MB of RAM. As mentioned in the title, the smartphone will run Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Storage

My opinion

Considering the price and the features there're many Smartphones you can compare this specific Model with. But, I'd like to compare it with Samsung Galaxy Y. While comparing, Mtag is priced lower than Galaxy Y. Moreover, it has dual cam which Galaxy Y lacks. Though Galaxy Y has an 832 Mhz Processor, Mtag 351 has a stronger Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor. The RAM is better in Mtag 351. Moreover, the Mtag 351 has better Battery Backup and display when compared to Galaxy Y.

So, if anyone's planning to buy a cheap budget Android Phone with lots of features, then this is your phone. You can check the official page here.

MTNL launches three Android Tablets - Lofty

MTNL(Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.), a telecom operator in many metropolitan cities of India steps into the Android Tablet Market with the launch of three tablets under the name "Lofty."

The three tablets are Lofty TZ300, Lofty TZ200 and TZ100. Another great news is that MTNL offers Free 10GB 3G Data for two months(both local and roaming).

These tablets are being manufactured by the device manufacturer Teracom, who are already supplying data cards for MTNL and BSNL.

Lofty TZ300

This tablet sports a 7 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels with resistive touch. It features a 1.2 GHz ARM cortex A9 based processor with 512 MB RAM and 4GB of Inbuilt Storage. This tablet will run Android 4.0(ICS). It also has a 0.3MP front facing camera for video calling.

Priced at Rs. 3,999 this is an affordable tablet for those who wanna try Icecream Sandwich.

Lofty TZ200

TZ200 sports a Capacitive touchscreen with support for Multi-touch and runs on 1.2 GHz ARM cortex A9 based processor with 512 MB RAM and 4GB of Inbuilt Storage. Same as TZ300, it will have Icecream Sandwich(ICS) for its OS and has a 0.3 MP front facing camera.

This tablet is priced at Rs.6,499 and is a Mid-range tablet.

Lofty TZ100

This tablet shares many features with the other two tablets - 512 MB RAM and 4GB of Inbuilt Storage. TZ100 also has Android ICS installed. But, this one features 1GHz cortex A9 based processor and has a 7 inch display with higher resolution of 1024 x 600. Moreover, TZ100 has 3MP Primary Camera along with 0.3 MP Secondary Camera. Moreover, this tablet can be used as a Phone too as it has a SIM Card slot and can be used for both voice and data functions.

TZ100 has been tagged at Rs.10,999.

All these tablets also have SD Card slot which supports a maximum of 32GB.

Lenovo announces Android 4.0 (ICS) powered LePhone K860

The Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo decided to step into Smartphone business with LePhone K860. A Chinese blog had already reported of this "Music Phone," but still we don't have any information on the price.

The Smartphone will run Android 4.0.4 (Ice cream Sandwich aka ICS) on a quad-core 1.4 Ghz Exynos processor with 400MP GPU and 1 GB RAM. K860 also features a large 5.0 inch HD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Apart from these features, the Primary Camera has 8MP Lens with 100 burst shot mode and 1080p video recording. The handset also has 2MP Secondary Camera. To support this handset, there is a 2250mAh battery.

As the features are those of a high end phone, you can expect the price to be high too. But, as Lenovo hasn't officially talked anything regarding the price, it's too soon to say. Wait for the updates. Like us on Facebook

3 steps to prevent copying of your Blog content

After personal experience of being robbed off my own articles, images etc I have decided to write a post on steps to prevent this from happening. Just, follow these 3 basic steps to protect your blog from being copied. But, if you are already a victim you can file a complaint here and the copied article will be removed ASAP.

The 3 steps towards protection of your Blog are as follows:-
1. Disable highlighting
2. Disable right click
3. Disable copying of images

Take these 3 basic steps and you'll be saved to a great extent from being robbed!

Install Android 4.1 Jellybean on Galaxy Ace

Read my last post - Install stable Android 4.0.4 ICS RC1 on Galaxy Ace - Noob Guide? Well, the same guy who brought ICS to Galaxy Ace - maclaw has also developed Jellybean(Android 4.1) for Galaxy Ace. But, the Jellybean ROM is still in Beta stage and has some bugs for eg:- the camera doesn't work at all. This project is a part of Cyanogen Mod 10. Now let's go to the tutorial.

If you already installed ICS on Galaxy Ace or you already have ClockWorkMod 5.0.2.6(CWM), then to install Jellybean follow the steps as follows:-

1. Download the ROM file here and copy it to your Phone's SD Card.
2. Switch off your Phone.

3. Boot into CWM Recovery by pressing the Power Button and Menu Button together.

4. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to scroll down to wipe data/factory reset and choose it by pressing the Menu Button. Then choose, Yes -- delete all user data .
5. When done, choose wipe cache partition and choose Yes - Wipe Cache.
6. After that, choose install zip from sdcard and choose choose zip from sdcard.

7. Scroll down to the file named cm_ace-ota-eng.maclaw.beta1 which we placed on your SD Card in the first step.

8. Choose Reboot.

If you're still running Official Android Gingerbread, then go here and follow the steps till IV as such i.e., in the following order:-

I. Copy files from PC

II. Installing CWM 4.0.0.9

III. Copy files from PC

IV. Installing CWM 5.0.2.6

After that follow the steps above i.e.,:-

1. Download the ROM file here and copy it to your Phone's SD Card.

2. Switch off your Phone.

3. Boot into CWM Recovery by pressing the Power Button and Menu Button together.

7. Scroll down to the file named cm_ace-ota-eng.maclaw.beta1 which we placed on your SD Card in the first step.

8. Choose Reboot.

Caution - This might not be a good ROM for daily use. After installing Jellybean using this tutorial, if you feel the need to go back to your Stock ROM, follow this tutorial or if you want to run Android ICS, then follow the steps V. Copy ROM from PC and V. Installing Android ICS ROM in the tutorial here.

Samsung wins patent case against Apple in Tokyo

Apple's victory over Samsung in the patent case was just short-lived as today a Tokyo Court dismissed the case saying that the patent was not infringed as was claimed by Apple Inc. Samsung was claimed by Apple to have copied designs for its Galaxy Smartphones and Galaxy Tablets from Apple's iPhone and iPad.

On this happy occasion Samsung said, "We will continue to offer highly innovative products to consumers, and continue our contributions toward the mobile industry's development," as reported by hindustantimes.

Apple, since some time now has gained a bad name for "picking up fights" with several companies. They even tried to sue Google saying that Android Lock pattern was copied from iPhone. Apple has been turning into a common enemy for most of the companies esp. smartphone makers.

Developers and Smartphone geeks have expressed their grief after the defeat of the South Korean Company Samsung(World's largest Phone Maker) in a Californian Court where the judge ruled in favor of Apple saying that Samsung had copied many features, ideas and technology from the California based company Apple's "golden-egg laying ducks" - iPhone and iPad. The jury also awarded $1 billion to Apple for the damages and that ruling brought great losses for Samsung as the shares went down by about 12%. Apple had also requested to ban eight Samsung Galaxy products in the US market.

Samsung won the legal battle against Apple in Japan when judge Tamotsu Shoji said he did not feel that Samsung had copied anything from Apple and he dismissed the lawsuit Apple had filed last year in the month of August.

Apple's lawyer was not available for comment. So, nobody's sure of an appeal. Apple might appeal again. Apparently, this might not be the end of a year long legal battle.

Install stable Android 4.0.4 ICS RC1 on Galaxy Ace - Noob Guide

This tutorial and I assume that your Galaxy Ace runs Gingerbread(Official). Moreover, I can't be held responsible for you bricked or "messed-up" Phone. Follow the tutorial carefully and I can assure that nothing won't go wrong. This tutorial is for the newbies who want to install ICS on Galaxy Ace.

To the newbies:-
If you think that this tutorial uses KIES or you think that this update comes from Samsung, then you are wrong. This update became reality because of the hard work by the developer maclaw and his team. Moreover, during this tutorial we'll be using softwares that will void your warranty. But, you can gain the warranty back anytime you like by downgrading to your Stock ROM. To get your warranty back, follow the tutorial here.

Before getting to the Tutorial part, here are the pre-requisites:-
1. Galaxy Ace running any original version of Gingerbread.

2. USB Cable/Memory Card Reader for transferring some files.

3. The following files:-

ClockWorkMod - Download here (Password = freezbay.blogspot.com)
Android ICS(RC1) Rom - Download here

I've divided the whole tutorial into some parts. Follow the tutorial in the order as given below. Now, to the tutorial part:-

I. Copy files from PC

1. Extract the downloaded ClockWorkMod File.

2. Copy the file named ClockWorkModAce to your Phone's SD Card.

II. Installing CWM 4.0.0.9

1. Switch off your Phone.

2. Boot into Recovery Mode by pressing the Power Button and Menu Button together.

3. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to scroll down to apply update from sdcard and choose it by pressing the Menu Button.

4. Scroll down to the file named ClockWorkModAce which we placed on your SD Card in the first step.

5. Choose Reboot.

III. Copy files from PC

1. From the already extracted ClockWorkMod File, copy the file named recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix to your Phone's SD Card.

IV. Installing CWM 5.0.2.6

1. Switch off your Phone.

2. Boot into CWM Recovery by pressing the Power Button and Menu Button together.

3. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to scroll down to apply update from sdcard and choose it by pressing the Menu Button.

4. Scroll down to the file named recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix which we placed on your SD Card in the third step.

5. Choose Reboot.

Now, we are done with installing the necessary ClockWorkMod Recovery on your Phone. Now, we jump to the last portion of this tutorial.

V. Copy ROM from PC
1. Copy the Android ICS(RC1) Rom file you downloaded earlier to your Phone's SD Card.

V. Installing Android ICS ROM
1. Switch off your Phone.

2. Boot into CWM Recovery by pressing the Power Button and Menu Button together.

3. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to scroll down to wipe data/factory reset and choose it by pressing the Menu Button. Then choose, Yes -- delete all user data.
4. When done, choose wipe cache partition and choose Yes - Wipe Cache.
5. After that, choose install zip from sdcard and choose choose zip from sdcard.

6. Scroll down to the file named cm9_ace-ota-eng.maclaw.rc1 which we placed on your SD Card in the fifth step.

7. Choose Reboot.

OK, now do the fourth, fifth and the seventh step three times again! Hey, hey! Hold on. I am just kidding! Now, you have installed ICS on your Galaxy Ace. Thanks to maclaw.

You will boot into ICS. You'll see a scary robot with the Cyanogen Mod 9(CM 9) Logo. But, if this scary robo stays on the screen for say, more than 5 minutes it's an indication that you went wrong somewhere. You know what to do. Do the 7th step again!

Samsung Galaxy Camera with Android 4.1

Did some of you guys actually think that Samsung would step back after the huge losses it experienced after it lost the battle against Apple? Well, then you were completely wrong! For the record, am a huge Samsung fan. So, what happened few days earlier was that Samsung decided to step into the Android Camera Market starting with the announcement of Samsung Galaxy Camera. Although Nikon has already announced 5 Android Cameras, Samsung plans to bring more feature to the Galaxy camera, as a step ahead to compete with Nikon.

The reason for these Cameras running Android remains the same - connectivity i.e., to edit and share photos and videos. What makes Samsung Android Cameras or Samsung Galaxy Cameras different is Android Jellybean(the latest Android OS) and also the integration of 3G and 4G connectivity with HSPA+ technology. Although, there are connectivity options like aforementioned WiFi, 3G and 4G, you can't actually use Galaxy Camera as a phone. For telephony, you'll have to use VoIP i.e., using an external application like Skype.

Talking about the specs, the Camera will be equipped with a 16 MP sensor with BSI Technology for better performance in low-lit conditions. The lens is 23mm wide and has a maximum Zoom range of 21x. Apart from these, Samsung has incorporated its own Photo and Video Wizard. Samsung has not yet announced the price, but it'll be priced similar to "high-end compact cameras" says cnet.

Sony's first 4K TV - the 84-inch XBR-84X900

Sony's first 4K 84-inch Television has been announced in a recent product launch held at US, says cnet. The 84 inches Monster, Sony Bravia XBR-84X900 is not the first of its kind to be launched because LG had already launched a 4K Model - LG 84LM9600. The TV will also feature passive 3D, again Sony's first. Even though 84" is a big big TV, but Philips already has a 90" Model, but it lacks 4K.

Before going deep, I'd like to explain a little about 4K. 4K is believed to be the next level of TV experience regarding the display and audio clarity, as it shows you Videos at a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, which is much higher than that of HD!

But, I can't talk much about a thing I've never laid my hands on. So, can't be sure if it's worth it. Moreover, you won't get to buy lots of 4K movies in the market i.e., to be exact, till the moment now only one movie has been launched in 4K - "TimeScapes." Sony takes care of this by incorporating the so-called 4K X-Reality Pro Picture Engine that ensures up scaling of all the contents to 4K Resolution. XBR-84X900 will also have Smart TV with Connectivity Options.

Sony promises to ship the XBR-84X900 by the end of this year. Though, the product launch at US didn't talk of Bravia XBR-84X900's price, cnet says that the European XBR-84X900 is tagged at 25,000 euros.

I'd like to wait and see till the half of 2013 and see what's in the store. Toshiba has pushed the launch of it's 4K TV to 2013. Moreover, other companies are ought to join the new market of 4K TVs(if it hits the market) and soon there will be competition. You know what that means - LOW PRICES!!

World's first Android Camera by Nikon

What you just read above is my version of Enth E End specially dedicated to Nikon for this innovation. Cameras, tablets - that's fine, dude but on cameras! That's what I call an Innovation! Seriously, I didn't see it coming and as I suppose, neither did you guys.
But since, it does exist let's talk about it - all we know of it.

The Camera will be launched by September, as Nikon says and will be the World's first Android Camera. Nikon's first Android Camera will be called S800c and will be followed by 4 other models - P7700, L610, S6400, and S01. All these models come under Nikon Coolpix Series.

Nikon Coolpix S800c will run on Android Gingerbread and is packed with a 16 MP CMOS sensor, 10x Optical Zoom, 3.5" touchscreen and WiFi so that you can edit your photos and upload them directly on the Camera. This awesome gadget will hit the markets by the late September for $350.

Among the five Cameras announced, P7700 rules. 12.1 MP BSI CMOS Sensor, 7.1x Optical Zoom, 1080p Movie Mode, Lens Shift vibration reduction and full manual control. This gadget is priced at $499.
