			<description><![CDATA[ We celebrate the 14th July with an interview with The Commanding Officer of La Glorieuse Lieutenant Numa Durbec .
The French patrol boat is in Sydney for a 4 day port call before reaching New Caledonia on Wednesday afternoon 15 July.

La Glorieuse patrols the South Pacific, assures maritime protection and surveillance and control of fishing activities amongst other things.

To celebrate Bastille Day, the crew will attend an official ceremony in the morning of the 14th July at the La P&#233;rouse monument in Botany Bay.

And we continue the interview with John Richards, EU Commission Counsellor about the Erasmus Mundus program for student mobility in Europe and beyond.

A new restaurant is opening its doors in Melbourne . International talents Gabriel Martin and Hadj Sadki are now settled in Australia.
Having been trained at the tough schools of the Michelin stars restaurants ,  worked their way to the top , worked for other stars, they are taking stock with a new venture.
Gabriel is the guest chef for a special Banquet which will honour some of the great ancestors and founding members of gastronomy.

Le diner-banquet du 14 juillet rendra hommage &#224; Car&#234;me , lui-m&#234;me apprenti de Vatel, le grand Maestro des fourneaux de Talleyrand . Selon la petite histoire telle qu&#39;elle nous est cont&#233;e , Talleyrand et Vatel, s&#39;unirent dans l&#39;effort surhumain des n&#233;gotiations entre les t&#234;tes couronn&#233;es victorieuses apr&#232;s Waterloo, et le ministre pl&#233;nipotentiaire de la France occup&#233;e et vaincue. La l&#233;gende dit que la hargne des t&#234;tes couronn&#233;es . succomba &#224; la divine cuisine du grand chef, facilitant ainsi , la t&#226;che ardue du n&#233;gotiateur Talleyrand.

Richard Gill est l&#39;un des musiciens , p&#233;dagogue et artiste les plus connus en Australie.
Il a mis sur pied une s&#233;rie de programmes o&#249; les enfants apprenaient et chantaient un op&#233;ra. Une semaine de r&#233;p&#233;titions, trois jours de repr&#233;sentations et des r&#233;sultats &#233;tonnants qui faisaient que certains de ces artistes en herbe , d&#233;couvraient le monde de l&#39;Op&#233;ra, ainsi que leur famille et peut-&#234;tre aussi une vocation d&#39;artiste . En tous cas ces op&#233;ras amorcaient un amour de l&#39;art vocal et de la musique en g&#233;n&#233;ral,  qui perdure.

Richard Gill et le Victoria Opera ont re&#231;u r&#233;cemment six nominations dans les Helmann Awards pour sa brillantissime production :des Noces de Popp&#233;e en 2008, &#224; South Melbourne Town Hall , transform&#233; pour l&#39;occasion en Palais romain au temps de N&#233;ron.

Comme directeur artistique du Victorian Opera, Richard Gill pr&#233;sente du 21 au 27 juillet : Ariadne auf Naxos, l&#39;un des chefs-d&#39;oeuvre le plus ludique de Richard Strauss. Selon les quelques &#233;chos qui ont filtr&#233;, Le Victorian Opera r&#233;-interprete cette oeuvre tr&#232;s populaire en son temps mais assez peu programm&#233;e depuis une d&#233;cennie , avec la signature tr&#232;s personnelle de son directeur artistique, sp&#233;cialiste puriste des oeuvres baroques, mais dans le contexte d&#39;une oeuvre compos&#233;e dans la Vienne fin de si&#232;cle, encore imbu&#233;e du Romantisme,  d&#233;j&#224; influenc&#233;e par l&#39;Impressionnisme musical.   L&#39;impressionnisme musical allait marquer si fortement le d&#233;but du 20 &#232;me si&#232;cle et Richard Strauss allait influencer l&#39;immense Gustave Mahler.

La saison Ariadne auf Naxos sera present&#233;e au Melbourne Arts Centre.

French photographer Brigitte Lacombe lives in New York City. Lacombe&#39;s honest and intelligent collection of portraits is a documentation of artists, writers, directors, actors, and political figures as superbly shown in her book &#38;uot;anima/persona&#38;uot;, a 420-page retrospective book. Brigitte frequently visits film sets as a special photographer, documenting movies from &#38;uot;behind-the-scenes&#38;uot;, making portraits of actors in character, and shooting film posters. She works on the films of Martin Scorsese, Mike Nichols, Sam Mendes, David Mamet, Spike Jonze, Stephen Daldry, and Brigitte documented on most all of the projects of late director Anthony Minghella.

This tournament regroups 4 teams: Australia, France, Spain and Greece and is a preparation to the FIBA U19 World Championship which will be held in Auckland, New Zealand 2- 12 July. The games are played at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre 26-28 June.

The French U 19 team finished 3rd in the last World Championship in Serbia two years ago. Spain claimed the title in 1999, Australia won in 2003 while France and Greece won Bronze in 2007 and 2003 respectively.

Elle nous explique ces photographies prises par deux soldats australiens, deux fr&#232;res, Jack et Bert Grinton sur le front entre 1916 et 1918. Les cam&#233;ras &#233;taient interdites au risque de se retrouver devant un Tribunal militaire. Les n&#233;gatifs de ces photographies furent retrouv&#233;s dans la ferme de la famille des Grinton r&#233;cemment. Une collection extraordinaire nous dit Corinne Perkin. Cette exposition voyagera autour du pays.
