Fishing in Bear Mountain and Other Things

Last weekend was very exhausting for me. When I feel like that, I just want to be in peace and do sports. I would do anything to release some tension. Fishing is one them.

I like to go to Bear Mountain. Yes, the name says it all. There are bears up there. I have never seen one myself, and I am not planning to do so. Better that way. It is a beautiful place to relax. One you go up the mountains, you are literally by yourself. You can hear the nature and even the fish in the water. It is that quiet.

This place is simply beautiful.

It is a nice park to visit this summer. It is about 1 hour away from NYC.

We caught 27 Green Sunfish. They are small and pretty delicious with garlic, salt and pepper. They can weight up to 2 lbs. We always make a special 2 in 1 hook. I was the first one to catch two at the same time this season. Yes, I love to compete with Honey Bunch.

Brownie AKA Dumbo with Big Ears had to inspect each catch. It has to be paw approved before putting it in the cooler.

This girl was like she knew her way around, even when we crossed the lake through the rocks. We haven’t been with her there in years. I guess she remembered.

This is the only part that I didn’t like about going up there in Bear Mountain. We have never experienced this before. Aside from catching fish, we caught ticks. 18 of them. Yes, my dogs were full of them by the time we got home. Never seen anything like it before. We were fishing in their coats for ticks. Since Brownie was more active than Ginger, he had more than her. We cleaned most of them when we got home and noticed them crawling in their fur. We then gave them a bath followed by soaking them in a flea and tick prevention liquid that you can get at PetSmart or Petco. Even after this, we found a couple more in them. We checked them a 100 times. We felt we worked more cleaning them than fishing.

It is almost summer time. Fleas and ticks are out and about. Protect your pet this season.

I know. I have a very small rod, but powerful.

L’Oréal Self Tanning Lotion

Every since I moved to The United States, I noticed that my skin color started getting more pale, and pale and pale. I was even told by my doctor that I lacked vitamin D for a bit due to not being exposed to the same amount of sun as I used to. I lived in the Dominican Republic for 19 years, so naturally I was tanned my entire life while living there. I do not like being pale. You can see every single vein in me when I’m pale.

Since my vitamin D is under control and I use sun-block as usual, I needed a solution to get a little color on my skin tone during the non-summer months.
