The boy-wonder was created by energy from lightning in the midst of a mysterious forest, his name derived from two Japanese kanji: Rai (thunder) and ki (tree). The combination of these elements has provided Raiki with his very special powers. He even has his own Facebook page – there aren’t many designer toys who can claim that much…

The myriad colors, layers and typographic themes he utilizes are something to behold. We don’t have enough space on these pages to showcase his entire body of work, but trust us when we say, it’s extensive. Quirky hand-drawn typography and sentimental musing abounds…

The chair, which combines futurist design elements of the 1950’s with modern sensibility, is designed to envelope the user, creating a comfortable and stylized space. Dynamic, even as a concept, Gamalov’s ‘Cube Chair’ design is one we hope to see fully realized soon.

Manoukian has created a study titled ‘Form and Function,’ a series of images that combine human x-rays with various tools. The work elegantly represents the relationship between form(the human image) and function(mechanical tools), demonstrating how both are inextricably linked and inform our understandings of each other respectively. Showing restraint and consideration with his choice of imagery, Manoukian’s ‘Form and Function’ provides an avenue for thoughtful consideration by the viewer.

Like the song of the forest itself, David Stine’s designs are a running commentary on nature melded with humanity.

Each of David Stine’s pieces are crafted from wood lovingly stewarded on his family owned 400 acre ranch in Illinois. Only trees that have reached the end of their lifespans are carefully selected, harvested and shaped into a pieces for the home.
